London 2012 Opening Ceremony

Superb ceremony overall, some 'wtf?' moments but overall it was very enjoyable.

As much as it must be a great experience, I couldn't be bothered attending.

Brilliant ceremony from start to finish - Macca's voice might be struggling but he's such a legend

who is that peruvian or was it paraguan girl with bulging tits ?

Can't believe how good that was all things considered, thought we'd be shit.

Still surprised Terry didn't turn up in his kit.

As opening ceremonies goes i thought it was really good, made me feel very patriotic/british. Proud that we pulled off something like that.

The queen / bond part literally made me lol when she jumped out the chopper!

The beginning I thought was fecking quality, with the industrial revolution. Dipped a bit in the middle, but then picked up with the British music over the last 50 years.

Still surprised Terry didn't turn up in his kit.

I honestly expected hi to appear out of the giant Voldemort figure at the end unexpectedly, spark out one of those kids and nick his torch, before running to the flame and posing for the cameras before lighting it

Terry's busy conducting tours 'round the Village.

Each to their own but i think that the ceremony will be well remembered, very well indeed.

Individualism couldn't be further removed from London 2012 at this moment.

Who cares? The bulging tits got me

That was incredible. I was blown away. It was everthing it should be. There wasn't a thousand drummers perfectly synced bring us in. It was something far more fun, far more free, far more British and I'm proud as hell.

Brilliant from start to finish IMO.Good laugh, didn't take itself too seriously and I loved it.

It's going to be fun

I have seen every opening ceremony since Mexico 1968 and this was probably the best ever. Enjoyed every minute and especially when my all time favorite Muhammad Ali entered the scene. My respect for him is endless.

Congrats London and Lord Coe. Couldn't be better.

All of it then being finished with a massive chest pump at the end.

It was fantastic. Well done to all involved.

Nice choice in having the young athletes light the cauldron instead of the likes of Redgrave and Bannister though it'd have been nice if they did. Over the last few years the word "legacy" has been mentioned quite a lot with regards to the London Olympics and though some didn't get what the theme of the ceremony was about, I thought it was made perfectly clear. Again, well done.

Apparently some American commentators think that Isambard Brunel (guy with the cigar during the revolution bit) was supposed to be Abraham Lincoln.
