Liverpool's inevitable q̶u̶a̶d̶r̶u̶p̶l̶e̶ tr̶i̶p̶l̶e̶ dibble/ The Hala Madrid Thread

We gotta hope City hold out in the league because Liverpool are taking the Cup and Champions league.

In fairness they are both lightyears ahead of everyone but I now think Liverpool have the strongest squad. That will no doubt change in the summer with the addition of Haaland and possibly Rice.

No way we'll sign Rice, he won't play 2nd fiddle to Rodri and Rodri is a better player. I do expect a striker. Agree on Liverpool winning all the cups too

I'm just wondering, have any cafers thanked us for stopping City doing the treble?

You're welcome.

If they do it then amazing, hats off to them. I'm not going to be like a scouser and pretend it wasn't an amazing achievement if they do it.

The Van Dijk effect. It's like his mere presence makes them invincible somehow.

Fa cup was the only doubt I had in regards to Liverpool winning the quadruple.

In summary

City will slip up in at least one of their remaining league games while Liverpool will win all of their games.

Crystal Palace or Chelsea won't be good enough to stop Liverpool from winning the FA Cup

Villarreal, Man City, Real Madrid will not be beating Liverpool in the champions league

Please someone stop them.

Man City please hold onto the lead.
Chelsea please be strong in the final.
Madrid or City please stop them in the other final.

They won't get to the CL final.

This Villareal team have gone from frustrating us to a halt with breakup play, to clinically picking Juventus apart, to being able to play Bayern off the park at home, and walling them away. They're growing in confidence with each European knockout tie and I genuinely think* it will take a Spanish side to beat them.

*the words "think" and "hope" are occasionally interchangeable

What caused Klopp from playing B-sides in the cups to fully go for it so much that he rested all his best players in CL?

Keep in mind Klopp played Salah in pointless group CL game after they had qualified.

Klopp think this is possible now.

They beat a poor Juventus and Bayern, Liverpool are completely different thing compared to those 2. There is absolutely no way in hell Villareal are beating Liverpool in a 2 game tie. Actually none of the remaining teams left beats this years Liverpool.

Then we agree, this Villareal team will be a bigger challenge than Bayern ever could have been.

Unai Emery will save us all. I think I'm restricted from doing smileys but you can probably guess what they'd look like anyway.

Was it a couple of years ago that Liverpool finished a point behind City after drawing at home to Everton. If Utd don't take points of Liverpool on Tuesday, then I fully expect Everton to.

There is a long, long way to go in the PL.

They'll win the quadruple. Weird thing is I don't even think they're in the top 5 teams in Premier league history, never mind before that. But luck, momentum and context are everything.

We could get 3 point at Anfield this coming week, and things would be a lot harder for the Scousers.

Their “secret” is the squad depth + smart turnover

Super strike force, great signings every 6 months

Incredible quality managed club

Best in the world for me

Need Chelsea to beat Palace. In their three draws this year I have had them edging two of them.

The most laughable thing is how easy it's been for them. We had to fight bloody hard for our treble whereas these twats have been handed it on a plate. Those horrible obnoxious rats don't deserve any of this.
I don't see how that's true at all.

Much better squad depth now.

Took a bit of a risk against Benfica. I guess if things got out of control he'd throw the stars in.

One of the strongest squads in the world now. Combine that with arguably the best manager and a very calm and professional environment in the dressing room. The result is fantastic.

Sad state of affairs this has become, we want City to win the league to stop them, Chelsea to win the Fa Cup to stop them also.

Makes me sick to the stomach this football supporting now days.

We still have our role to play in this. Hope the players are up for it on tuesday and understand the importance of beating the scousers in this game.

The benefit of years of great recruitment is finally showing up. Liverpool have a superior squad to Manchester City and more "killers". It would be a fitting achievement for arguably the best team since Pep Guardiola's Barcelona.

Feck me while we hit new lows every week they hit new highs.
I fecking despise what we've become. We have a chance to stop them but I doubt Maguire and the knobheads give a feck.

Have lost interest in football because of how shite United have become. Everytime I watch the cup finals and the CL ties all I can think of is how bad we are.

Wonder how many years it'll take me to get use to us being mediocre.

This is such a sure thing I've gone and put money them to win the rest. I may as well make a profit out of it to help cheer me up a bit.

We seriously need to talk about Klopp as one of the greatest managers this game has seen. Or is it too soon?

For me he's top 10 ever already.

Probably, but, I'd wait to see what happens when Klopp has to oversee a rebuild. It's the transitions from one excellent squad to another than makes a top ten manager. When Salah, Mane, VVD and co make way (and assuming Klopp is even there still), then the question of status can be established permanently.

Yeah it's happening, unfortunately. One of the lads is in strong denial about it, but with each passing week, the harsh reality seems to be slowly dawning on him.

the way they've immediately bounced back from last season when so many insisted they were done is astonishing

Chelsea for FA Cup and Madrid for Champions League.

That’s what most of us hope, although the likeliest scenario is Pool for the CL and FA Cup and thus completing the treble.

I think City have the easier games left in the league, and I think they will win all remaining games.

Well deserved if they do it!
