But IMO you needed this summer 2 CB's and a striker, and a midfielder to replace Veron if he goes...

1 center half, a fullback and one lad for up front imo

disagree on veron, he was luxury and the midfield without him would still be good enough ... wouldnt mind duff tho

Just got this from a Liverpoo season ticket holder:

" Well, so far Houllier has signed

* 2 Senegal players that nobody had heard of before the World cup
* 1 French kid that nobody has heard of (but apparantly was in the
ever so succesful French World Cup squad)
* 1 guy call Vladamir Smicer that I have heard of and who plays well
about once every 2 months

and to cap it all, we have virtually signed a nice, friendly chap called Lee
Bowyer(!)

what's goin' on? I have a feeling our great leader is still on the
morphine, or maybe something stronger "


Seems I'm not the only one who's predicting a troubled season ahead for the scousers

The starting midfield would be better without IMO..but your cover ( Butt aside ) is poor...

Chadwick and Fortune are second rate IMO, third even...if you lost Beckham for any length of time would you be happy to have Chadwick there? I'm not suggesting you should get someone as good as Beckham as back up but someone better than the aforementioned pair....agree that Duff would solve this problem, but you'd need a striker as well IMO

Not an easy thing to do, get someone who can play RB and LB..

I haven't seen enough of O'Shea to judge him but don't rate any of your current CB's as being top class...you'll obviously sign another CB but I'm happy for him to play alongside any 3 of your defence that were so ropey last season...

if veron does get on i think we should go for van bommel ,who is one player we have not been linked with this summer,he would be a ready made replacement when roy retires and he would learn from the master while keano is still there

Stupid rodent! YOU dont' deserve to support United if you think Van Bommel is a worthy replecement for Veron. Veron is one of the best attacking mifielders on Earth. and when he is on top of his game few attacking midfielders match his defensive work rate. Van Bommel on the other hand is an attack mided Keane with out similar defnsive abilty, which would take him probaly another three years to develope under a good manager. So he ain't woth it. But anyway. Why I'm I wasting time with you? :eek: As if you would listen :rolleyes:

He's genuine alright. He's not as blinkered as some I could mention.

Man Utd getting linked to every player on the planet is fair summer game. One decent center half will do nicely. We bought 50m worth of quality last year and won roxy. A year on and everyone knows each other that much better.

Form is temporary class is permenent. Just becasue of one bad season you can't just write of Veron. He has bags of class. Anyway what would a scouser know with midfielders like Murphy in their team :p
