Chelsea were as bad in my books. Fergie was up against that amazing Barca side, we would have won more in Europe if it were not for them.

Currently Flopp has the same number of league titles as Claudio Raneri, hopefully when he leaves it's the same.

There have been times in the post Fergie years when I have thought that the Utd team was almost looking for an excuse to lose. "Oh we got a bad decision against us, pressure is off, it is ok to lose now"

And also plenty of times when a decision has gone in Utds favour, and they haven't taken advantage of it with that moment forgotten as people start claiming conspiracies.

Why? It makes perfect sense that more time is added when the better team is losing.

It would be more interesting to see if the average ball-in-play time including OT is higher when certain teams need a goal. My guess would be no.

I don't see it. City tend to shit themselves at Anfield when the crowd is up for it. The only time they've won there if I'm not mistaken was during lockdown with no fans, when Liverpool were on a long losing streak of losing at home at the time.

The refs always try to please the crowd in these big games at Anfield too.
 
Don't know if it was as much as Liverpool being lucky as Forest being daft in this one. Pool were pretty poor all game and all Forest had to do waa hoof the ball forward at the end. Pool are good at putting pressure at the end but really are not playing that great. Still expect City to be the more dominant team by season's end

Assuming you mean City, then yes, he did. Other than that one season he beat them every season. In his last, he finished 11 points clear.

Gomez and Kelleher clashed and Gomez stayed down holding his head while CHO was in a good attacking position. Tierney blew his whistle for a head injury and Gomez immediately got up. Tierney then inexplicably let Liverpool restart instead of an uncontested drop ball for Forest and Liverpool scored from the attack.

I’d say that’s beyond lucky. It’s fecking appalling.

We’ve reached the point where you simply must put money on them winning the league to numb the pain when the inevitable happens. Their win today is exactly what league winners do depressingly.
 
Referee gives them the ball to attack, VVD gets away with another rugby tackle in the box.

Absolutely criminal refereeing.
 
Think about this though...
They have almost 6 players who can score ..
So they have found a way to win somehow..
 
It's a great way to defend to be honest, every time the other team is in possession in the final third have the goalie assault whichever team mate is the closest and the ref will stop the game and give you the ball.
 
You'd think that it was pumped up straight to Darwin from the re-start. There were a good 3 or 4 passages of play inbetween where Forest had the chance to win and retain the ball.

I agree that Forest should have been given the ball back, but it's not like the goal was scored mere seconds after.

All said and done Fergie Is simply at an upper echelon in terms of his quality and ability compared to klopp and even then we still lost three titles to Chelsea and one to city, two of them being near run affairs in 2009 and 2012.

Put simply that early Chelsea side was the closest to what klopp is facing as of now and even though they were close they lacked the depth of the current city side and lacked a long term presence at the top as jose was burned out by the time inter called and they would never reach the quality that they did in those first two seasons, City wouldn't become what it is now until much later as they only managed a single title after Fergie and before pep.

I think it wouldn't be far fetched to say klopp would have a few more titles if the cheaters weren't around.

The butterfly effects of it would be unpredictable but assuming it's not that complicated we'd get 2012, 2018 and that one season ole came second, Liverpool get 2014 and another 2 with klopp.

It might cost us 2013 though as Fergie might have retired early so who knows.

Also, Jose was unemployed when Inter came calling. He was fired early in the 2007/08 season.

At this point Klopp's farewell tour is an unstoppable force; make no mistake about it, there will be an abundance of late goals, dodgy penalties, VAR referees acting like they are visually impaired and so on before the season ends.

I wonder if this is how Scousers felt watching us winning absolutely everything imaginable from the late 90's and forward...

With that said, I just do not want Liverpool to lose out on the league title; I seriously, like genuinely for the bottom of my heart, hope they bottle it on the smallest margins possible; like -1 in goal difference.

I think that would be the perfect metaphor for Klopp's reign over there.

Could've easily given a penalty and Forest still have possession near the corner flag when the ref blows up. Nothing wrong with Konate and then they basically tell all the Forest players to clear off back into their own half and let Liverpool just run with the ball from their own half so can't contest the drop ball?!!:annoyed:

Ultimately though Forest cleared the corner and completely messed up the clearance so still should've seen out the 0-0.
