I want to see shades of Crystanbul with them drawing (or losing) which all but mathematically ends their title bid a week early and their biggest twat (this time Salah) crying his eyes out and captain hard man (this time Hendo) trying to get the cameras away.

They probably didn’t deserve to lose 3-0 but the luck they’ve generated this season is crazy. Between last minute goals , penos offsides and diving it’s about time their luck went the other way in the ideal situation , a champs league semi final compared to a home goal v Fulham or something.:D

I’m enjoying it tonight

Check out the thread called "Cheering on Liverpool - 2017/18 edition", page 51. Look under the profile names for the people that have been banned. Some guy literally just pointed out that Liverpool would have a claim to being the team with the greatest history in English football if they won another champions league. He didn't even state any strong opinions on it.

Someone else was calling the mods "tribalistic" for banning people for it. Banned. Of course.

Mods here are a disgrace. I for one am appalled.

Early goal on Tuesday and it's possible. Then again they'll need to open up which will be ideal for Messi.

On the other hand, they could have lost 5-0. Top level football is all about making the important moments count.

True, but sometimes it just doesn't go your way in a one off game. You need luck as well in a competition like this, they didn't have it.

Oh, and Messi obviously.

Perfect time to get a good hiding from a superior team and bring them back down to earth.

:lol::lol::lol: get fecked. Also amazing how confident they were, forgetting that it doesnt matter how good Van dijk is, Messi when hes on it is literally unstoppable by anyone.

Could have done with the game remaining a little closer, they might have considered resting players v newcastle. Now they might as well go all in on the league.

How do you like those apples, you utter cretins? The unwarranted, OTT confidence leading into this game makes it all the most satisfying. They’re ranting and raving now about having more possession, more corners etc. than Barcelona, like it’s a sign they were the better team on the night and ultimately only lost because luck - for once this season - deserted them, but willfully ignoring that Valverde got his tactics absolutely spot on and killed Liverpool between the lines.

Pique and Lenglet were superb in central defence; Alba did a sterling job on Salah whilst looking dangerous himself in attack (his assist for Suarez’s goal was terrific); Ter Stegen punched through Liverpool’s press very well with precise long passes; Suarez had his best game in Europe in quite a while, whilst Messi was mesmerising and unlucky to finish with a couple of more assists had his teammates been sharper in front of goal. It was an impressive, well-executed tactical display by Barcelona and it should be enough to see them through to the final in Madrid.

P.S. Klopp played three centre-halves and four central-midfielders tonight and still looked hapless in defence. If he opens up more at Anfield (which he’ll have to), Barcelona will rip them apart in the transition. Suarez will be hit long from defence each time and Messi and Dembele will attack the play off Suarez. Liverpool will surely score at home but I fancy Barcelona to score themselves also.

I am expecting Spurs and Liverpool to be in the final still.

Nah .. no away goal kills Liverpool almost entirely. They might make a heroic effort and go 2-0 up or something but 3-0 is very, very hard to overcome and I doubt Barcelona will do it two CL seasons in a row.

We're in with a shot if Son can have a worldie, but 70/30 in Ajax's favour.

Liverpool never fail to make me feel better. When things look darkest, there's always LFC :D

I would not have expected a Sacchi Milan or 2011 Barcelona to go through after losing 3-0 away for god's sake, they have a chance obviously, but to expect it?

I gave them much more credit then they deserved. Thought they'll have the measure of Barcelona. The season is turning out to be a tragedy......an enjoyable tragedy. :)

Looks like last night was their awakening with respect to Suarez. They have been "deradicalized" in their mad defense of him, saw him as the opposition does.

I actually fancied Liverpool to do enough over the two legs, but it looks like it wasn't meant to be (thankfully). I know we shouldn't really be laughing in our position, but it's still a bit funny that what is probably Liverpool's best side for nearly 30 years went and lost 3-0 to Barcelona when what is definitely one of our worst sides in the last 30 years only lost by the same scoreline. I expect them to slip with at least a draw now and the dream will be over for at least another year. Credit to them if they bounce back, but I think this will hurt and for such a great team going to the UCL final followed by a semi-final and likely storming past 90 points, you have to say it's a little unlucky to end up with nothing.

But who cares?

Gutted they lost. Would have loved to have seen them lose the title on the last day and then the CL final a few weeks later. It would absolutely break them. I don't think this will hurt as much as they've just been destroyed by another Messi masterclass. They had plenty of chances to win too so they can bring that hope back with them at least but they've got to up their finishing which was dreadful last night.

Whilst I agree that I'd love that too, but I couldn't deal with them in the final again. Last year was scary enough.

Still think we're in with a chance, albeit a very small one - 5% or so. The lack of an away goal will hurt us, but we simply were not efficient enough last night. Sucks for it to happen in the most important game of the season but it is what it is.

Don't get the fuss about Suarez celebrating either, I wouldn't expect anything else from a player in such a game. He's just another former employee who moved on to a better team, that's all there is to it. It's weird to see people get so attached to players, regardless of how long they've been at the club. Some really like to over romanticize football.

I don’t want those bastards anywhere near the final this year. At least last year, we took solace in the fact they were facing a winning machine in Madrid but this year they’d be facing an inexperienced Ajax side (who knows how the occasion would get to them) or an injury-ravaged, bottling Spurs side. The Vermin would be red-hot favourites against either.

Absolutely no way should we wish for them to proceed. Another Messi clinic on Tuesday, ta.

Suarez celebrating a Champions League Semi Final goal. Disgusting really, isn't it?

Luck deserted Liverpool in a crucial CL game after helping them in the PL. Nice.

Let's not giddy though before they are actually out of it.

how the heck did they conspire to lose that game 3 zip?
Easy, as Klopps in game management is poor, he could of settled with a 1 nil loss with 15 minutes to go, but decided to be gung ho, compare that to the night before with Poch, whose hand was forced because of injuires and suspensions, but setup his team to lose by a small margin, knowing next week they are more than capable of getting a result, and they will end up in the final against Barcelona.

I'm just glad it's almost certain I can watch the final in peace.

They really didn't deserve to lose 3-0 tonight.

Knockout football is a bitch, I reckon they'll win 2 or 3-1 at Anfield.
No you’re right it should have been 4 - 0. HTF they missed with the last kick of the game I don’t know.

Now I would love to bring this PL season to an end on Sunday with Newcastle winning and City also getting a win.

Barcelona to get a 2 goal victory at Anfailed will be the icing on the cake.

The one thing I have noticed recently is that these scousers are now talking up finishing second. It’s as though they get a record number of points for finishing second is a greater achievement than when we finished as champions.
They really know how to dress up failure. They make me fecking sick they really do.

II Kop: 1-6

1Now the days of Brendan (whom is called Brent) drew nigh that he should depart; and he charged Klopp the Bavarian, saying,

2"Depart henceforth to the Camp of Nou and take with thouest thy Gegenpress regiment, that thou shouldst encamp them and destroyeth them in their iniquity."

3"And keep the charge of the LORD Rafa, your God, as it is written in the book of Kop, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, lest laughter once more be heard across the land."

4The Kopites therefore went unto the Camp of Nou to wage war with the Catalonians, intent to smite the Valverde the valour and Lord Leo the Lionheart. The Kopites struck with great numbers, but their weapons were blunt.
And King Leo rose up to meet them, stepped from his throne ladened with colours of blue and scarlet, and struck the Kopites with a mortal blow from seventy cubits distance.

5And thus, the Catalonians laid siege to the Province of Kop, destroying their idols; there was great lamenting and tears. The Kopites proceeded to rend their shellsuit garments, for King Leo and his army sacked the land, and nothing stood anymore in the land, not even the Tower of Babel.

6For the prophecy of old as foretold by Alex the Prophet was shown true. "From the victory march of April 28th, 1990, 10,627 days shall pass henceforth in desolation for the Kopites without victory once more. For not even the coming of Mohammed the Ground-worshipper shall cause them to prosper. There shalt be laughter across the land for all eternity."

Good to know we're competitive.
We had a good performance away at Barcelona, and didn't allow them a lot of clear-cut chances.
We had more attempts, 4 shots on target to their 5, and statistically on par with them. Even speaking about Messi, he had 4 shots, 2 of them blocked. And you saw the other two...
Mane, Salah and even Milner had better chances than Messi had. Clinical edge decided the game.

Absolutely. It's not over and past experience tells you that Liverpool can still win this. But Barcelona are nearly there, and being able to enjoy a CL final without City or Liverpool there will be fecking brilliant.

It's the difference between top class players such as Salah, Mane, & Firminho, & a world-class player like Messi. Small margins, but massive consequences.

Liverpool were unlucky last night. They did play well. I think Klopp made some poor choices which hindered them. I can see his logic in opting for Gomez over TAA but it backfired and is a case of what would be labelled 'overthinking' if it was Pep. Same for playing Wijnaldum further up the pitch. Offered nothing. 2-1 to Barcelona would have been a fairer result but Messi's quality, as usual, proved an insurmountable difference on the night. I don't give Liverpool any real chance at Anfield. One Barcelona goal and Liverpool need to score five, and I can't see Liverpool scoring four without reply, or keeping Barca out for 120 minutes, in which case they're fecked.
