He has balls.
He still has 4 subs to change the game though. They are going to lose this and not because of they were outclassed. But because the Scaloni wouldn't make a sub.
No point bolting the gate when the horses are gone and all that.He still has 4 subs to change the game though.
Acuna as a left winger made me curious too, mate.Showed his naivety today. When France changed the setup he should have changed too. I have no fecking idea why he kept on Tagliafico and had Acuna as left winger. Should have brought on Parades earlier to pack the midfield.
Argentina could have lost this 3 2 in the normal time.
Just won the World Cup with a worse squad than Southgate.
Legend.
He won a WC with Paredes, Acuña, Romero, De Paul, etc...what a legend.
How ironic is Football that players like Zanetti, Redondo, Riquelme, Ayala, Aimar, Batistuta, Zabaleta, Cambiasso, Crespo, etc never even reached a WC semifinal
If I recall, Lloris won the coin toss and chose to shoot first. Why did Messi choose to shoot 2nd? I assume this was an instruction from Scaloni. Isn't it almost always better to shoot first?

Argentina won the Copa and the WC because they actually have a decent keeper now. I hate Martinez with a passion, but he's the differentiator.None of the players who won yesterday have an ego.
Some of the others did.
Literally the Copa and WC were OK, we have Messi the rest of us will work our asses off and do what the coach says, its our best chance before Messi retires and we're fecked.
They were willing to run themselves into the ground, frustrated opponents and then get a piece of magic to win a game
2 up, Di Maria running on fumes, and the French nowhere to be found the whole game. That Acuna sub was dumb.

He wanted to protect the lead. A mistake in hindsight but you get where he was coming from.
Ifs and buts... I think that he underused Lisandro Martinez throughout the tournament though. Then again a CB pairing is hard to break, especially during a tournament.I think going 3-5-2 and bringing Lisandro on would've been much better. Martinez would've dealt with that mess on the left side better than Acuna or Tagliafico. His other subs were good tbf.
