Lionel Messi in talks over 800k a week Manchester City move (The Sun)

'With Neymar and Luis Suarez starring during his recent injury, Messi fears he may die laughing after reading our story.'

So glad that someone posted the entire piece on here so I didn't give the Sun a click.

500k a week is already an absolutely obscene amount of money, btw.

Wow, Neymar to United and Messi to City - Tough time to be a Barca fan.

Can't wait to see Bluemoon getting excited about this.

Spoiler: He'll never leave Barca by choice, they stuck with him as a kid with a growth hormone deficiency and paid for all his treatment as an apprentice.

This in addition to paying for his parents to relocate to Spain to be near him through all of this. He loves the club and won't leave until he's either very old and starts losing ability, or retires.

Well, there's no reason for them to stop at the Mess n' Pep reunion: Bring along Neymar and Suarez as well. Given how easy it is for them to get these deals done, that should be a breeze.

Oh that's bad for United...

Now we will have to renegotiate with Rooney to make sure he remains the highest paid player in EPL as he truly well deserves

Messi surplus.. Definitely not in football, maybe talking about some other sports

Holy hell...

Surplus...jesus christ. The more you think about it, the more ridiculous it sounds.

 surplus to requirement...

Hopefully PSG outbids them.

Why not? , how many clubs in the world could afford to pay him that much ?
City are one of a very small number, they could and with ease.
But no what am I saying , it will never happen.

If that was all he was after, sure. But then several other clubs could offer an obscene amount too.

Clubs who can afford to pay him shitloads: Real, United, Chelsea, Bayern, PSG, all those are more attractive than City in one way or another.

Messi is the only player who could save Van Gaal now if you ask me.

I don't think it is that far fetched that Messi comes to the premier league in the next couple of years.
Our clubs, especially the top ones, will have massively increased spending power and FFP is obviously not going to be enforced.
What else does he have to prove at Barca? Nada :) Perhaps he wants to experience something different and get an extra £300k a week as well.

Never mind idiots who write shit articles, don't they have bosses who approve of them before anything is printed or posted ? These idiots are worse for me than the writers.

Bosses whose job it is to ensure they are generating sufficient website traffic to keep advertisers happy...
messi clickbate - yes please... Ker-ching!!!!

I liked the bit about Barca being prepared to accept around 120million for him. Arguably the best football player the planet has ever seen, in the prime of his life and going for around the same price as Gareth Bale, or two Angel di Maria's...

if thats £120m then that would be around 175m euros and the world transfer record is currently 100m euros for bale ( assuming barca think in euros not £) and he would be 29 in the summer... I think its probably not too far off what somebody may pay for him if they did realistically want to sell him - especially if you consider he apparently wants £800k or 1.14m euros a week - presumably for 5 years making the total deal about £330m or 470m euros.
That said its far more likely his agent is just trying to up his wage a bit and secure a contract extension

You can always easily create clickbait articles but at least use some common sense and have some self respect. Messi being "surplus to requirement" is one of the dumbest one can possibly read.
