Like-function for the forum?

Don't like this. It will kill any debate, as it will quickly turn into a "who has more likes" game..

Also the point of the forum is to express your opinion, not to win as many "likes" as you can..

I think it has been suggested before too.

No offence OP, but this is a hideous idea. We have a newbie system to make sure that the main forums are populated with people who can actually string more than two words together without resorting to txt spk. We have that now, we don't need to copy anything from horrible sites like FB.

His idea wasn't the worst. I don't think a "LIKE" function is the way to go.

But I do think there is a genuine problem with 'this' and 'good post'. Seems a lot of threads have a good load of people who just say 'this' at someone.

I wouldn't be against the idea of a small counter in the post bar that is a plus1/-1. I think it would stop the won word answer 'this' and probably stop people from saying 'good post' though in truth they should be encouraged to continue the discussion whilst offering kudos textually.

If it stops the constant bickering in the Welbeck and David De Gea threads then it would be doing something right regardless.

edit: Oh right I see that plusOne has already been blocked on the board.

I'm not in support of this idea, but I'm not really sure how it would necessarily make anything worse. Liking things doesn't negate debate, it just shows agreement. It's pointless, but I can't see how it would make the forum any better or worse. If you liked a post most people would still post their opinion on it as well.

But like I said, I couldn't care less and don't think it's in any way necessary.
