Scored 4 goals in the last 7 matches so far. Seems to be in hot form at the moment. Every time I watched him, he looked very lively and always on the move. You can see that he is a bit raw, but this is his first full season in the EPL. Rumors have it that Chelsea are keeping tab on his development.

Could we be looking at another Cole Palmer?

I really like the look of him. Looks like an old school number 9 that can hold the ball up, batter some defenders but also got good movement, pace and most importantly a composed finisher. Ironically, exactly the sort of striker ETH loves but with good end product!

Cole Palmer, no, but I think he could become a decent 15 goal a season striker for someone.

He'd be a much better option for us than Hojlund.

Which is rather sad to say when he cost us 64m pounds.

At this point if we went in for Delap, he would cost us at least 40 million. Unless of course Ipswich get relegated and we can pick him up on the cheap in the 15-20 million area.

A much better option despite not having shown anything to suggest that. That's new.

He's shown better ability to consistently hold up the ball, consistently control the ball better with his first touch, and to consistently create his own chances and score goals so far in the league.

He has scored 4 goals so far. For all we know it might be a purple patch. Højlund has created chances for himself too and scored from those. He looks decent, but it is far too early to suggest he is much better than Højlund.

Wow, cool story!

Hojlund lost the ball with 13 percent of his touches last season. Delap has lost the ball with 28 percent of his touches this season.

While completion rate (passing) for Ipswich this season is 80 %, Delap is at 54 %. Man Utr had 81 % last season, and Hojlund was at 76 %.

Delap has an npxg of 0,19 this season. Hojlund was at 0,32 last season. Maybe Delap would have done better in a better team. But Man Utd where not exactly great either last season.

Don’t let facts get in the way!

Do you know what consistently means? We're 7 games into the season.

He was quite injury prone for City’s youth teams. There’s a big talent in there and a potential good Premier League class striker, let’s see if his development is not hindered

Although it would be great if Hojlund could consistently control the ball within 90 minutes.
Liam Delap miscontrols the ball more than Højlund per 90 minutes and gets dispossessed more, so not sure how much Ipswich you've been watching this season. But any opportunity to bash our young striker, eh?

That was mean! Good, but mean! Carry on!

Although it would be great if Hojlund could consistently control the ball for 1 game.
It's not really consistent though is it. If we're taking 6 game samples, Hojlund proved himself to be the best goalscorer in the whole of the Champions League last season in the group stages.

I like the look of Delap but no need to shit on our own when talking about him.

It's a difficult one as he still is only 21 years old and strikers generally seem to take slightly longer to develop. I've seen Delap in a number of championship games the last few seasons and he always came across as big lump who liked to throw his weight about and with little end product.

But as mentioned in my first sentence, he is only 21 and I'm not going to hold those early seasons in his career against him. Its not as if Harry Kane was particularly clinical in his lower league loans either and so it may be the case of Delap too.

I do think the fact he went for 20 million to Ipswich is testament to his struggles in the championship as it wasn't so long ago where there was serious talk about him potentially competing for a starting position at City down the line.

He seems to have started this season well though and I highly rate McKenna as a manager too so he must see something in Delap. Right now I'm not sure if this is a purple patch or a sign that he's now coming into his own.

Defo won to keep an eye on and monitor the progress of.

Why come into a thread with nuance and detail, rather than just blindly knee-jerking and using it as a chance to moan about a united player?

He looks good, look's sharp in his performances and has good movement.

Certainly one to watch, in a similar category to Even Ferguson for me but I can see him developing even further.

Delap is very raw but thing I like about him is that he tries to impose himself on a game and make things happen for himself, rather than waiting around for someone else to create something for him. He seems to have license at Ipswich to drop deeper to get on the ball, use his pace and power to run at defenders with the ball, and bring others into the game.

I don't know if it's something Rasmus can try and do to bring himself into a game, because there's been so many games for us where he's been a passenger (Villa the most recent). Yes, he gets f-all service, but in games like that he needs get aggressive and "put himself about" at least, not let the game pass him by.

He's very versatile which is something neither of United's current strikers offer.

If he can stay injury free he will certainly be at a top 8 club within the next few years.

I wasnt that impressed with him when he was playing in City youth against us and for England youth, but he's taken to the premier league fantastically

Seems there’s something there in signing some youth in/around city’s first team. Let’s try and get Oscar Bobb.

I think he'll be one of the ones they keep. And obviously thats a joke as they'd never sell to United

I do have hopes that when they decide to move James McAtee on that my local side Bournemouth can get him though

Don't see too many strikers with his physical profile any more. He's a big, strong boy.

Yeah I believe Bobb is highly rated and on the verge of pushing the starting attackers sometime this season, if he didn’t get injured. I said it more tongue in cheek as I rate him, but as you say, I doubt they sell to us unless the player himself forces it or his contract is coming to an end

An old fashioned bruiser who's direct and works hard for the team. A bit of a throw back to strikers from the 80s and 90s. Think he was played out of position in his many loans whilst at City. He will be one of the main reasons Ipswich stay up. On course for a 15 goal season I reckon.

I think the next couple of years will be very important for him. If he can get goals at this level consistently then a bigger team will come in for him. After that I can see him in the England team. His always been rated internationally and think he can be a bit of a throw back striker.
