The guy has been brilliant not just for England in the u21 tournament but for Brighton as well. What does the future hold for him?

Will he start for Chelsea next season?

Absolutely zero chance but think Brighton is the better club for his development.

I was talking about this with a chelsea supporter and it seems there is some consensus that Thiago Silva would be ahead of him. It will be madness if he doesn't start despite the other talents they have in that position.

Chelsea have a habit of hoarding the talents until they no longer are. He’d be smart to ask for a transfer before he gets Loftus-Cheeked.

I’d never heard of him but I could have guessed he played for Brighton

Depends on how Poch sets us up. I can see him starting in a back 3. Fofana is very injury prone so I expect him to take his place when he's injured. He's currently behind Fofana, Badiashile and Silva at the moment but he'll get his chance shortly.

Whilst he's good on a ball, I've seen him make a fair few odd decisions defensively. Few lapses today as well, I think he'd be best at Chelsea learning off someone like Silva. The rest he's got.

Curtis Jones got MOTM in the final, not Colwill

Great talent, but think Pochettino will be playing four at the back this season and with the number of other players they've got there it'll be hard to get into the side.

I'm not sure Poch will place too much faith in Silva being athletic enough to play well in a back 4. I suspect the default will be Fofana & Badiashile and Colwill will get opportunities when one of them gets injured.

Will update the tweet. Still colwill was one of the standout performers of the entire tournament. Will be surprised if he doesn't win player of the tournament after going the entire tournament without conceding a goal. Of course others was involved, but we know who was one of the main reason for that.

It’s not zero chance. Badiashile is out for 4 months, still about 3 months left before he can return. We sold Koulibaly. The path is essentially clear for him.

Loftus-Cheek was blossoming into a brilliant player until an Achilles injury completely derailed his career. Bit harsh to use him as some kind of cautionary tale.

Is this some localised expression I am coming across for the first time or was it meant to say 'path'?

He’d be much better off at Brighton!

Seriously he’s a fantastic player and I think with the high energy style of Poch he should be picked ahead of Silva. But I’d love for him to be with us for another season.

 shows how much attention I paid to Chelsea in the remaining few months of last season.

I agree, he should eventually be a starter ahead of Silva. He’s a Reece James level of gem. I think his loan life is over now. Chelsea are trying to get him sign an extension.

Yeah injured in training before the United game I think. They said he’d be out for around 4 months.

Found it:

Colwill should start in center back position. He is one of the best in the world. He is a complete defender.

If there is any stats for defenders he will be leading in many aspects against world's best.

Him and fofana my choice of starters. Badiashile and silva as rotational options. If we deploy three man defense then silva/badiashile should play in central defender and either side fofana and colwill.

Defense wont be a problem for us with proper cover for both full backs if we sign caicedo we looked set for midfield as well.

Attack will be okay as long as our full backs chip in goals here and there.

If we starts season well then top 5 wont be a problem for us in my opinion.

Not on here.

Pochettino should rotate between a back 3 and back four.

This will be my starting defense for chelsea when everyone fit:

----------------- Costa
James -Fofana/Badishelle - Colwill - chilwell

With back three option at tough opponent away

------------------- Costa
---- fofana - Badishelle/Silva - Colwill

Silva should be played in league cup competition and early fa cup games. Make colwill, Badishelle and/or fofana your main starting center backs for league and tough matchs. It is also important to have a goalkeeper that can command the box. Even though kepa has some impressive stats and he is your longest serving player you have, Chelsea will need a modern keeper. However, I can see Pochettino relying on kepa and kepa proving his doubters wrong next season

Interesting he doesn’t seem to be signing though unless guaranteed a proper shot at the first team

Yeah he seemingly wants to be assured he’ll be given a fair shot, which I guess won’t be too difficult to assure since he’s incredible and there is a pathway of sorts with Badiashile currently injured and Koulibaly gone.

he’s better than Fofana and Badiashile

he’s should already in making England squads, maybe he’ll get a look in now Conor Coady is a championship player

Needs to start at Chelsea, build the defence around him.
That is what should happen. But when you have a £70m center back, a captain/leader and another potential world class center back, it is easier said than done.

But colwill looks better than all of them and Pochettino needs to realize that. It will definitely be competitive for that center back spot. Based of last season fofana may be the one most in trouble, but I m sure he will be resurgent next season when he sees the competition around him.

Looks like Chelsea isn't that dumb enough to not include him as part of this new project

You are in a bit of a bind here @Amadaeus . You are cheerleading Chelsea’s players and talking about how amazing they are, so Poch needs to do amazingly well to get the credit you want him to.

If, on the other hand, he doesn’t do well, how could he not have done? What, with so much quality that you are touting on a daily basis on the forum?

You are setting yourself up for a personal Catch 22 situation here!

I would change tact if I were you. More embarrassing videos of what Poch has to mould into some semblance of a team, so he gets all the glory when it goes well. That should have been your play.
