This whole thing makes no sense, some act gob smacked, what you expected to happen. Check threads before Pogba joined from Juventus. Also section of this hate is just hiding behing his agent to justify it, said it already but wouldnt be surprised to see Martial next on target list after Pogba leaves but this time they wont be able to hide behind MR as he aint his agent.
What am I missing. What doesn't make sense? What Raiola said, or peoples reactions? I don't think anyone would have hoped or expected to see Pogba wanting to leave the club so desperately he allows his agent to make Pogba into a disruptment. Why would anyone expect that? What has Martial to do with this?
I think there was very little sentiment to his decision, he came back because United were willing to give Juventus what they were asking and offered the player more. Had Real matched our offer he'd have gone there.
If he was so fond of the club he probably wouldn't have left in the first place.
If one is to believe Pogba loves the club, it was pretty weird to leave, then build up a rep, then come back and then wanting to leave so soon. Him wanting to leave before last season and the disruptments previously created doesn't make any sense. But in retrospect this makes sense to me. Raiola wanted to move Pogba here because of the money, and stories was that he convinced Pogba of coming here for a couple of more years while developing before he'd get him the big move to Real that he wanted. Obviously United would not agree to that so Raiola clearly has been playing a double game and has his puppet on a string.
The only loser here is Pogba because I believe he lost his motivation and determination to evolve from agreeing to something that wasn't true to his heart. He hasn't been developing into the player everyone expected and while people want to blame United, the only loser in that race is Pogba himself and he has to take responsibility for his actions. Raiola made him do something he didn't want to, but he went along with it for the money and I'd bet he just lost a lot of respect in Manchester. Unless he comes out publicly and excuses the comments made on his behalf.
That's simply not true. He wanted to go back to United because he felt he had unfinished business there. United jumped at the opportunity and beat the competition to his signature but he wanted to be there, he loves the club. Anybody who knows him in the club will tell you the same. It obviously didn't work out the way everyone hoped it would, but there's no need to suddenly turned him into a mercenary who never cared and was simply chasing the money, I'm sure he could have gotten more money elsewhere.
As for why he left in the first place, his reasons were legitimate and proved, ultimately, to be the right move for his career.
If you love someone you don't let some other friend manipulate them into doing what you want them to do for your own benefit, that is just very disrespectful and not something a good person would do if he loves someone. Far from it. So either he doesn't love us and is in it for the money, which would explain his behaviour and it is nothing personal, but if he loves the club then this feels like a much bigger betrayal. It is delusional to have it both ways. Pogba has a pretty smile but come on, it's not cool. Very few players have so little respect for their club they, however indirectly, disrupts their season willingly as a move for their own benefit.
Don't forget all these games that Pogba and his man plays also contributed heavily into disrupting our follow up season after coming second. I believed his falling out with Mourinho was a singular incident based on emotions and the fact that Mourinho is a bit of a lunatic, but in retrospect there was no motive for Mourinho there. Not many took him seriously when he told Pogba was a Virus. He got sacked from a lot of things, but one of the things that contributed was the big bust up with this player and it disrupted our season. Pogba even put out a timely picture if I remember correctly, sort of to say I won to Mourinho. If that was a singular incident I wouldn't question Pogba much right now, but now this player have had his agent attack the manager of the club he plays for. That is nothing but betrayal and highly unusual behaviour from footballers, and not something that should be tolerated or accepted.
I have nothing against Pogba but I wont be fooled by wishful thinking that he isn't instructing his agent to do what it takes to get it his way. If he do this now, he could have done it before, and this is not the first time we've had possibly fatal disruptions from him. This incident just leads me to doubt 1. His love for the club. 2. His professional commitment 3. His character and motivation. All these things have been questioned before always with an excuse and I believed in them because I like Pogba. I love the club, and this guy I think he has been a virus and a bad decision to buy him and make him our star player. It might be unpopular opinion because on his day he is such a great player, but despite that I don't think he ever really handled the pressure of playing for United well. It was always something lacking in his game when he played here.
