Legendary funny man Leslie Nielsen died today of complications of pneumonia in a hospital near his home in Fort Lauderdale, this according to his agent. He was 84.

His agent tells TMZ Nielsen passed surrounded by his wife and friends at about 5:34 PM ET.

Loved the Naked Gun series, some of my favourite comedy films of all time. Nielsen's a legend.

One of me favourite comic actors ever. I'll be watching all the Naked Guns today as I'm snowed in anyway. Legend.
 


Genuinely gutted. Police Squad, Airplane and the Naked Guns have given me tonnes of laughs over the years. R.I.P

Apparently he was once invited to a pro-am golf tournament, and accepted, without mentioning that he'd never actually played golf before. He drove the organisers crazy, blithely ripping the course up trying to hit the ball.
