Leroy Sane

 Out of nowhere. I can’t see him joining us this season, why should he choose us? He would be dream winger signing though. He can play both left and right flanks.

It would make sense for us to buy him on loan with obligation to buy on a World Cup year if he is so down at pecking order at Bayern. Also remember he is one of the highest paid in Bayern. Please don’t buy him on ridiculous money and stuck with him on Sanchez wages for next few years.

I'm a huge fan but surely he shouldn't be a priority. He'd cost a fortune and we still need couple of midfielders, a striker and a right back — at the very least.
If the current option is Elanga, I would say a winger should be one of the priority.

He's not developed as well as he could but would take him without a shadow of doubt.

If this is true then our restructuring has failed. It’s as scattergun as ever.

Well, you can argue that Sane may have been on our list all along. But given today’s transfer media that just doesn’t seem likely. We have been after Anthony and that didn’t seem to work it (fine b/c Ajax quote a crazy price) then we are after now these young strikers in Germany. That seems more plausible. Sane out of nowhere seems very scattergun to me, IF this is true.

This is all conjecture. The media don't know all the players on pur list of targets.

I rate him, but clearly has an injury record. Just don't rate our team doing good business with Bayern. We got ripped off with Schweinsteiger and Hargraves before as well.

The Hargreaves signing is a real freak case. It's a signing from 15 years ago... He was a pivotal player for us and suffered a career ending injury. All in all, he was worth the £17M for "that" season alone. I agree on Schweinsteiger, but that's more poor recruitment than anything. There's nothing to suggest there's anything wrong with Sane, so I'm not sure where this is coming from.

What has Murthaugh been doing since February ?

Think there’s nothing in this. We’ll no doubt get rumours linking us to everyone now that we’re not getting our 1st targets.

Don't know what's wrong with him. If you see him play, you can sometimes see, that he really is a great talent, pace, elegance, ball controll, finishing...but then he has games-a lot more than those in which he is really good- in which he plays a lot sloopy passes, bad body language in the pitch, non existant work for the defence. In these games it is like you play with ten men, he ist just one big bored ball loss then. In my opinion he has the potential to be world class but he will never become it because he has not the right mind-set. Guess we would sell

Blows hot and cold too much for me and im not even sure if he's reliable in a big game situation. Has behaviour issues too doesn't he? Didn't he sulk around and not get in the Germany squad or something? Either way, do not want.

If let's say it's true then we call Sane as alternative option that appears in the market. I'm not sure how is it called restructuring has failed?

It's like Man City chasing Maguire and Koulibaly and then they moved on to Dias since Maguire and Koulibaly were way too expensive in the market.

Maybe, sure. Haven’t done the homework yet to check Sane’s contractual status. But based on profile, experience etc., Sane won’t be cheap either. Don’t get me wrong, if we get him I think plenty of people would be happy because he’s a good player would would improve the strike force. But it seems like, now with Ronaldo’s status, we’d want a no. 9 to team with Martial.

If EtH wants to replace every player in the squad over the next couple of years, I’m absolutely fine with that. That’s what we brought him in for and after last seasons shambles I’m not attached to anybody in this squad. But for the love of god, can we start by signing players for positions we don’t already have multiple options for already, or are weak in, rather than the areas we’re probably “strongest” in.

If I was Bayern and United offered 50/60 million I'd take it and run.

Bayern arguably have better, more consistent alternatives.

This is one of the things that's been so unbelievably infuriating post SAF.

To be fair SAF would try to purchase a top striker and new CBs every summer while United had relatively poor options on the left wing, center midfield and right back positions. It's a long time tradition to ignore weaknesses.

Haven't they been playing him in midfield at times in the same role Ancelotti made for Di Maria at Madrid?

yes, at times last season he played in an inside left channel, where he dropped deeper and helped progress the ball forward. The lineup with pretty specific so, I'd be unsure how well that can be re-created.
He is a great ball-carrier and surprisingly nimble in tight spaces. The downside is, that he is a bit underwhelming as winger. I thought that he was a great dribbler for City, but he really struggles to get past his man for bayern, when he plays on the wing. He should have all the tools to be good in 1v1 situations, but he usually just ends up losing the ball.
