I'm still a Leeds fan and I'll look for their results but I'm not wasting energy actively supporting a team that's shrinking before my eyes. The Board and PR are removing slowly any reason for a fan to care, while also lying at the same time. If they had been honest and said that big players had to go as they stuffed up financially at least they would have been laying it out there.
But PR's stupid 'Rio was backup for Woodgate' looks even stupider now, also his 'No crown jewels will be sold' after Rio went etc etc.
The selling of Woodgate also indicates there is a free for all with the board of previously unthinkable transfers of the star youth team members we had. Leeds fans went through bloody torture because Leeds backed Woodgate through the trials as they valued him that much and now he's sold for 9 million? So therefore any other valued player can go now too. There is no trust in what the board will do or which players will be sold so why should I bother when I honestly know that half the players there now will not be there in August?
As for laughing...OK Man Utd is solid financially....but anything can happen in football. Your star player now and Alex Ferguson will move on eventually and that will be a huge change...it won't be as drastic as Leeds but who knows what will happen whaen huge changes to a club are made?
I don't see why Man Utd and other top teams fans are laughing so hard when Newcastle, who are currently 2nd, have just strengthened their side. The only thing that has been holding them back has been a weak defence. Woodgate virtually solves this problem on his own as he's used to playing without a decent CB partner at Leeds. He's also a 22 year old England player with a long career in front of him and he is a very, very good player.
Apart from a few oldies like Shearer, Speed, Solano, Dabizas, the rest of the Newcastle side are 26 (Given) and then 24 (Dyer, Bernard, Hughes) and younger (Bellamy, Jenas, Viana, Bramble, Woodgate, Ameobi, Lua Lua).
That's a good side that just got stronger.</strong><hr></blockquote>
We're laughing because you're crap. We're defo not laughing that Newcastle's defence is going to possibly be stronger. Spot the diff.
