Leeds (dirty thugs) discussion

Any other mid table/relegation quality squad would be excused from this recent run of results, given the level of injuries Leeds has.

Because it's Leeds and they have the audacity to not know their place and park the bus like a good English brexit team against better opposition, that context goes flying out the window.

Regardless of tonight's result they still have a chance of staying up.

But he sticks to his tactics don't forget that. He doesn't adapt to his opponents
All the praises this **** was getting a year ago.
Mindblowing

Bielsa every week looks more and more like an outdated dinosaur.

Yes, he might have his footballing ideals but they are structurally an embarrassment for a professional team.

They are hilarious.

Bielsa is a fraud who is an amateur playing the same style over and over again while getting spanked.

Thanks for buying James for £30m, though.

They are awful at the back, but they do create many chances. I think Bamford's injury hurt them more than anything.

I don't think he's a dinosaur. He's done a good job at Leeds overall and ultimately stayed a season too long. That's something that's happened to many a coach.

I think they'll wait and see what results are like against the other strugglers in the next few games. I reckon Bielsa ss going to go at the end of the season anyway.

Dazzling

The FA should seize control of the team and put Bielsa in handcuffs. This is atrocious...

We should def go for Raphinha if they do end up going down.

Solved the RW problem on the cheap and let's us focus on more important positions like DM, CM as a Pogba replacement etc

Three drillings in a row, 14 goals conceded! Can't be many runs as bad as that over the years.

You wonder what it would take for Bielsa to change their daft style of play in these games.

People still think he's some kind of managerial genius? Still sets his team up naively, has not addressed the defensive issues they have. But I guess we should marvel at the "beautiful" football his team play.

What are people expecting from them?

Surely every team's second season in the Prem, the aim is to stay up? You see loads of teams come up, over perform and then go down the next season. If they survive, then he's done his job for me. I don't think it matters that he takes these beatings, it's something you have to accept with his style of football. Even today they created plenty of chances, and they are starting a diminutive winger upfront.

And concurrently concede about a bazillion chances per game. The goal is to stay up, agreed. But when you have a manager who sets you up in this kamikaze way there’s little way of doing so. They’ve conceded 20 goals in a single month of football, ffs. The winger upfront is more of his genius tactic that never works.

Hearing Bielsa talk is like listening to a poet, he says the right stuff, talks about the beauty of the game, going all for attack. But his results are poor, it's really naive to set up your team to go for the knockout every time for 90 minutes against the top teams. You're going to get spanked.

5-1 vs Man Utd
3-0 vs Liverpool
2-1 vs Spurs
3-2 vs Chelsea
7-0 vs City
4-1 vs Arsenal
4-2 vs Man Utd
6-0 vs Liverpool
4-0 vs Spurs

9 games, 9 defeats, 38 goals conceded, 7 goals scored, this season against top opposition. With 7 of those games ending in spanking for Leeds.

Surely there's a point when even the hard Bielsa fans must want the team to change their approach? At least against top opposition.

This season is good PR for Kalvin Phillips. They’re dreadful without him. Somebody higher up the table will definitely take him if they go down
