Leeds (dirty thugs) discussion

Would love to see Bielsa manage in England.

His Bilbao and Marseille teams were beautiful to watch.

He dosen't speak any English though which is a big problem straight away. At least Leeds are giving him a pre season as his style of management wouldn't work coming in mid season.

Bielsa will need a big squad to carry his hard running style through a 46 game season.

Without Avengers level stamina there’s no way you can press and play like that over such a long season.

City, Liverpool, West Ham, all the clubs who hate us respected the minutes silence for George Best back in 2005. Leeds cnuts chanted "we hate Man Utd" through out the whole thing. Leeds are the reason they brought in the minutes applause, to drown out shitbags like them.

They did something similar when Matt Busby died, chanting 'there's only one Don Revie.' Still, I'd rather have them back in the top flight so we can hammer them.

One of my favorite coaches out there

How come he's taken the LUFC job? Surely he could have had a job at a bigger club?

Last few jobs haven't been great, walked out of Lazio after 4 days because they signed a player without his knowledge and was bad at Lille, left them in relegation zone so would imagine he's off the radar of the bigger clubs in europe for now.

aaargh thanks for the update. He's a nutter, indeed

Should be great fun, either way.

In a lot of ways there aren’t many bigger clubs in England.

Why would he? He hasn't had a successful job since Bilbao.

Yeah agreed. Meant more in terms of a PL job. Even though I'd agree - he's way too high risk an appointment.

Yeah FootballHQ has said, as above. Always thought he did alright with Marseille though...until the inevitable bust up (of sorts) happened anyway

Didn't really follow his time with Lille.

So, it's official:

SKY SOURCES: LEEDS APPOINT MARCELO BIELSA AS HEAD COACH ON THREE-YEAR DEAL

They're playing so amazing soccer ball. :wenger:

Bielsa is a myth. This will end in tears.

His character and eccentricity really makes him unfit to manage a top club. That said, if he can get Leeds promoted and maintain this explosive football, that's a huge feather in his cap.

I don't think Leeds can sustain this, but it's all about collecting as many points as possible to ensure a safety net when they do inevitably hit a slump.

Leeds are ripping it up so far.

Small ish squad though so interested how they do once the injuries/suspensions pick up.

Bielsa is literally a myth buster that you need several seasons to get your tactics across for people there to see...

Leeds will quickly become insufferable so be careful what you wish for.

Leeds deserve to be in the premier league. Would be great to see them back in the big leagues.

feck them and everything about them. Can't get my head around any United fan rooting for their promotion.

I don't think it's "rooting for their promotion"

But most match-going reds will want them in the PL because it's two more rival matches. One more brilliant away.

It's a hell of a lot more interesting than having Swansea or Cardiff in the PL. And much sweeter when United win

Or you could look at it as another small time club who will be desperate to get 6 points over United each season whilst rolling over for the likes of City.

That's nothing new to United though. It was like that when we were winning titles.

Although I do see your point. It annoyed me with Huddersfield last season. Standing up and making noise every time they got the ball. Disputing every decision. Stomping. I saw them later against Liverpool and it was like a morgue, even at 0-0.

West Ham do it every season. Their fans hate United for some unknown reason, yet talk of great respect for Chelsea and city

Leeds play better football than us, the worrying thing is I’m not even joking.

The United fans who are desperate for a Leeds promotion are the same who were punching the air in delight when City started becoming relevant with their crazy spending. "A stronger City team is better for our rivalry with them." Bollocks. Be careful what you wish for.

Worrying thing is that their manager changed how they play completely in about 2-3 months, whereas ours is still crying about personnel after 2 fecking years and over 300m spent.

I'm not saying Leeds will continue to play like they have started or Bielsa is a better manager than Mourinho(before some Mourinho fanboys jump down my throat counting trophies), he has taken 2 months to setup how he wants his team to play, whereas Mourinho is struggling to put together a coherent team.

Yeah I know bieslsa basically has the exact same team the other managers have drastically failed with and still made them look like a whole new team, it is very depressing to see.

I still don't understand how much Mourinho is being defended by people here. No one is asking him to win titles, is expecting our team to resemble a team too much?

I only follow the Chamionship because of Tuanzebe and the fact that Leeds are there. My father is a lifelong Leeds supporter turned City fan (when Leeds went down) and I'd never want him to enjoy both of them finishing above United.

If you claim to be a real fan of United you can't cheer for our biggest rivals to return to glory. I feel kinda shit about liking City's spending circa Robinho, because it was real life FIFA and I never thought they'd be more than noisy neighbours one day. However, my father always told me United was a buying team and he's kind of humbled since the Arabs took over.

Agreed, feck them, let them stay in the Championship to rot.

The idea you need donkey years to implement a style has always and will always be rubbish. You knew how Leeds were going to play the second he arrived and it's no surprise they're playing exactly that way in 3 months .
