Lee Dixon

Lawro really is a bastard isn't he. A big dull bastard face.

Hope to see much more of Dixon; really like him. Plus his (sexual) chemistry with Ginola made good tv.

Jesus Christ, him chipping in on the commentary with drab fecking monotone garbage is sending me under on a hangover.

Who hurt him? Why does he sound like he hates football?

Dixon on discovering climate change through Reading's sleeves: "it's slightly worrying isn't it?"

Thanks Lee.

love how ITV have chosen to completely ignore everyone being sick of these two and wanting McCoist

What ever he is paid, it's too much. Dull, monotone and adds nothing of interest.

The Guy commentates every game acting like he doesn't want to be there and its an inconvenience for him.....the miserable cnut.

His commentary on the pen appeal was disgraceful, career ruined by Fergie.

Another on the long list of commentators/pundits that have jobs for reasons unknown. Do broadcasting companies do no consumer research? Who do they think wants to listen to Lee Dixon?

I quite like him on the US streams, usually as he's paired with Le Saux, and they're pretty good together.

on ITV and without Le Saux it's like listening to a game being co-commentated by Karl Pilkington.

ITV scared of being accused of bias so went and got a commentary team that hate football

That's a great point actually. When sharing the duties with Le Saux it sort of works.
When on his own he's just the classic dull northern droner who you could imagine has his phone out reading texts, being on tiktok, literally looking up only when forced to.

He's clearly the "go to northern guy" who is available at short notice and handles the underwhelming games.

People used to moan about Townsend, but he was enthusiastic, didn't try to be too clever and had some irresistible phrases like "in and around" and "that's better".

I used to love an Andy Townsend "BETTER" after a drilled cross to no one. Classic.

And saying stuff like go big with a cross.

But the best thing is him and Clive T brings back glorious memories of those days champions league games were something new and exciting, that only one team qualified for, usually United.

Exactly! I don't think anyone is expecting ground breaking match analysis from co-commentators, a bit of fecking enthusiasm is all that's needed. Dixon just takes the piss, so miserable as if he'd rather be somewhere else.

In fairness he sounds exactly about as enthusiastic as a guy who played for our fiercest rivals in the late 90s and is a fan of our bitter city rivals, should do!

Kind of ridiculous that he gave Antony the motm over Casemiro on the basis of that being the best he's seen Antony play. Like... let's be realistic. Casemiro was far and ahead the best player in the game, yet you give Antony a pity motm because he got a decent assist?
