Television Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

Really good episode.

Trump & his GOP buddies are all a bunch of cnuts.

I wonder if any of the cnuts that’s tried to justify that policy watched that episode and felt any different. Or just kept on blaming the parents.

That family separation segment, especially towards the end, showed him being genuinely emotionally affected about the story.

You could see his hand shaking and he stuttered a few times he was getting so angry/upset by the poor kid crying on the VT saying his mum didn't love him.

Trump is such a piece of shit.
That was such a harrowing segment to watch that I'd say most people watching it were probably affected too.

It was a great episode, I loved the bit with that NBC mascot

Just watched it myself and its harrowing and everything Oliver is saying about the trump administration is true, its a bunch of right wing morons. Recently Trump is taking claim of Americas economic growth, which actually started in the Obama era. Watching that poor child saying he wants to go to jail because his mummy didn't love him, was heartbreaking and I would hate for my son to experience horror like that.

 What show was that from?

Surely, people can't be this clueless

 Yes, they are all that dumb.

Love island I think he said. These types of shows have been popular for while. Making absolute numpties household names. The only way is Essex, Geordie shore, made in Chelsea, and many more. I actually think love island has quite the following on the caf. There’s a thread somewhere.

That stupid bitch news anchor who didn't know Chester A. Arthur was a US President needs to watch Die Hard with a Vengeance.

I thought the Brexit episode was great, a return to form. This one, eh... the bits before the main story were good.

I've always thought psychics were loathsome bottom feeding lowlifes so all for them getting exposed more on TV.

Here's another video of Sylvia Browne (the psychic who told the kidnapped girl's parents that she was dead). What an awful scumbag she was.

Meh start to the season especially compared to last year
Hopefully things pick up but I get this feeling that they are running out of material or something because surely there are more important things going on than psychics looting people

They've always done things like that though. It's not a new thing.

I mean the first season had a main story on FIFA and nobody in the US gives a shit about them.

Shining a light on subjects that don't get enough attention has always been a big part of the show.

Yeah I know and I love that about the show but I don't know, felt like they didn't have much to work on, usually their segments are so well researched, this I felt lacked content
Maybe it's just me

I suspect if you look through each series there's a couple of episodes like this which take relatively little time, money and resources to put together. Fitting a few low-effort episodes like that into a series so you can do more work on other episodes is part of the knack of making a show like this work.

Makes sense

Psychic powers are imaginary. These people are frauds, or simply delusional.

What baffles me the most though (in that clip) was that the police search for that first kid was diverted because of what she 'saw.' That is just unbelievable.

The closing skits and clips can be cut out IMO. They just revise the topic unnecessarily without adding humour /anything.

I think some of the best bits of the show have been from the closing acts.
From the top of my head, the Trump vs Hillary scandal comparison with raisins, the one with Weird Al Yankovic (episode about North Korea IIRC) and the one in which a boy sings Feck you European Union (The Brexit Song) were fantastic

I felt they've been great at times but often cringe worthy too. The psychic skit was pointless.

Yeah that's true, I totally agree
As I said earlier, last episode lacked any content - hot reading, cold reading, psychics are cheats;that was the entire episode and they just summarized everything in 30 seconds with that skit at the end
They didn't have much to work with and in those situations I think it's best to not have that closing act because yesterday it felt like they had it just for the sake of it

Totally missed that it has started again. 2 episodes to watch in a row

Yeah that was poor tbh but rarely they have misses like that. I'm assuming also it's so they could devote research to another episode so I'm happy for the occasional dud.

I'm still waiting for the episode on the guy that sued them.

"… hot girl with cum in her hair, my wife, … Russia, … Russia, …"

The security robot that drowned itself and the solar-powered hitch-hiking robot that got mugged in the city of "brotherly love"
Nice episode though the ending with kids was relatively pointless.

The thing with the countries was great.
