He was class back in the day, most wanted him to come back a few years ago he was on the fringes but I don't know I think he's too old now like, he's had his day in the international scene. Pakistan have been playing Danish Kaneria for a while who looked like a great talent but hasn't lived up to it in the last year, still good though.

Lancs - 367 for 6 (79.3 overs) - Laxman got a hundred...

Danish Kaneria isn't really all that good, is he.

Lancs need more than a ton with 4 wickets in hand. Still too many to get.

In short, nope, not now.

When he came in he was young and looked good potential wise and Pak couldn't stick with the old guard all the time...

If I remember back correctly they all got dropped after the poor WC showing and fixing allegations etc - Waqar Y as well even INZY got dropped at the time but he was the only one who made it back because his experience was needed to captain the side.

They opted for some of the youth and even some of the top cricketing figures said Kaneria looked good. He played well in the tests helping the team win a number of series and getting five wicket halls but since then he's declined rapidly and is often left out of the team. He doesn't really have a chance in the shorter version of the game anyway as Pak have a number of all rounders who can bowl spin. I think he plays for a county team now I'm not sure which one.

Anyway back to Lancs its 380 for 7 and they still need another hundred with the tail end in so it looks very unlikely.

From what I've seen of him, he doesn't look in Mushtaq's league.

That's pretty fair enough, I agree, Mushy is a top-class spinner - I used to 'buzz' off him.

I think the target is around 489... Cork and Mahmood in, would be great if they did that!

There are always going to be decent spin bowlers from around there anyway, I'm sure another one will crop up soon. Hopefully.

Class bowler, best spinner Pakistan has ever produced.

Yes. Made legspin popular. Was a dying art before he came along. Great to watch. . .not seen a bowler with his amount of variety.

Will Lancs ever win the title again? This is gut wrenching, no it's even worse than that.... This is worse than 92...

Proud of the boys they gave it absolutely everything today, but it just wasn't enough today.
 
I had to go do some duties and just found out the result, can't believe it so close. Oh well the lads did well, they should be proud for what they have achieved throughout the season...

At least Lancs are challenging now.. Next time!
 
I'm so gutted for Lancs I've waited years to see the boys lift the county championship and it goes on. Lancs deserved it for shear gutts how I wish Rampakash had gone off to do some ballroom dancing or something!
 
Was walking in Wales on Saturday so missed the run-chase. Nice to show Lancs showing a bit of bottle at the end - would have been an unbelievable victory if they'd managed to pull it off. :(
