Crazy that this is happening in 2023 in fecking western Europe. Valencia fans are disgusting. Is there any part of Spain where this doesn't happen?

@Niemans, since you used to three posts to dispell the accusations, could you now spare one to acknowledge that the racism did happen and this isn't after all a campaign to discredit La Liga?

In the first place there was a Twitter with fake news and a user believed those fake news. I simply said that in that video people said "tonto" and not "mono".
The other 2 answers were for people who do not know Spanish and wanted to correct 3 people who have Spanish as their native language. And besides not knowing what they were talking about, they insulted serious things for which I reported them.
In that video that you have put several fans make the sound of the monkey and call him "tonto" .
How do we get rid of this from football matches? Install more cameras around stadium ground to identify culprits?

barcelona (laporta) expelled the ultras (boixos nois) in 2003. they are criminals. probably his best action as barca president. real madrid did the same with ultra sur (despicable people too) in 2014, only over a decade.
2 weeks ago santiago bernabeu were making chants against pep calling him junkie and faggot. the chant was obviously prepared as it was very elaborated.
they are applauding valverde for punching baena in the face while waiting in the bus although what valverde said has been proved to be false (after careful review, no images emerged in the moment valverde said his son was insulted).
a few weeks ago in the euroleague playoffs (basketball) they initiated a fight because they were losing where one of the players (yabusele) bodyslams a rival who happened to be there and injured him for the rest of the season, and he was lucky. response? more applauses in the next game (only 5 games suspension in the competition).
all these events in the span of 1 month.
the constant bashing of anything that smells "blaugrana" and the constant "virtue" of anything that smalls white is actually sickening.
Touchy much? If you read this thread and the Vinicius thread, you'd see Barcelona fans have been particularly strong with the whataboutism in this particular case. It's a response to that - by someone who isn't even a Real Madrid fan and never mentioned them in his post. So your response here makes no sense.
Also, weren't you explaining in the other thread that racism isn't really a thing in Spain? How do you square that with your list here of examples of racism?
And ever since there have been no reported cases of racist abuse in those stadiums by those fans to my knowledge. Thus proving that racism is very much a problem in Spain and that it is in fact possible to do something about it when it comes to kicking it out of stadiums

Amico, that's a very old chant, inherited from Ultra Sur. At least it was sung before the Copa del Rey, although I don't know if it was at the Bernabéu(probably too)

And what do you do in that case, when half the stadium sings it? Not only in the Bernabéu but in any stadium. Close the stands? Messi's chants were also in unison, or Guti's or Cristiano's.
Vini is nowhere near Neymar when it comes to diving and cheating. Vast majority of situations are not just fouls, but brutality. From opponents and from refs who allow absolutely asinine stuff. Considering we have VAR it gets even more absurd. And there are also fans, with all its glory as seen vs. Valencia. That being sad, even is he was a cheating diver it should be irrelevant. It would not in any shape or form justify racist response - of course in healthy society.

If that's what it takes, yes. There are many examples of "behind closed doors" games being played for different reasons. At this point it may be the next thing to try as not much else seems to be working.
The extreme version is what happened to English clubs when their hooliganism was out of control; ban these clubs from Europe.
Something very scandalous had to happen for things to start changing. I hope these measures are not the only ones and more are to follow in the future.
Stop the game, close the stadium, fine the club(a BIG fine, something that actually hurts), and give a warning in case of recidiviness in the form of massive point deduction/exclusion from european competition --> automatic relegation, etc...

I'll tell you what's happening. The international outcry, specially from Brazil and English speaking media reached a level that the government must intervene. The judicial authorities must have known for a while who the frente Atletico hooligans were but only after the shitstorm are they moving
Spain wants to organize the World Cup in 2030. If that vote is held tomorrow they'd lose by a landslide. They have to be seen to be doing something drastic.
Spain as a country cannot have the likes of Tebas and Rubiales as their public face on this. They're too old or too stupid to understand that world has changed and younger generations are going to stand up to racism and scream to the heavens when enough is enough.

He is right but at the same time, feels easy to make these comments now, when action during the game by real Madrid would have been incredibly meaningful. Action that would have been incredibly powerful and ultimately without consequence to their season.
Also don't know if it's just me but the Barcelona fans on here seem to have had some truly awful takes in the past couple of years.

Yes, this is also my view of the whole thing. This case has now become a matter of state and people with enough power is seemingly pulling strings in the right way which is relieving after all that has happened.
The issue was not that there are stupid individuals. The issue was the collective response (or lack of response) to these sorts of events but decisions like closing Mestalla for five games, removing Vinicius's red card or arresting the Atletico fans represents a huge turning point from my point of view.
Also, I heard Xavi's words yesterday and I very much agree with his view on eradicating not just racist behaviors in stadiums but also all kind of insults.
It's the stand where their ultras are located, which was also the stand where Vinicius was pointing at one particular person before eventually getting sent off. RFEF took this action because of the referee's report, who acknowledged that multiple people in that stand were racially abusing Vinicius.

Nevertheless, I would feel better if news of lifetime bans come out. Some faces are very identifiable on some videos found on social media.
