La Liga 2019/20

I would discard it in normal circumstances, but lack of home fans and Asensio and Hazard back give some little hope.
3-2 would be enough for you. Could be goals in that game. City aren't the strongest defensive unit. Although Pep will probably be smart and play more on the counter again with a more solid midfield.

Cant understand why Alexander Isak not starting for Real. Have been immense for them this season. Who is this Willian Jose guy?

Their starting striker over the past 3 seasons. Decent striker nothing special. Isak probably come on in the 2nd half

Isak been a regulat starter since January but before that it was rotation every other game between the two. For example Isak didn't start one of the two legs in the semi final.

Same with Adnan Januazj and Portu regularly rotating, it's a very well constructed squad in the final third.

Yes I really like the offensive play of Real this season. Just flowing in the final Third. And I know they’ve been rotating but just tried to understand who that Willian guy was. Now i know. Hopefully Isak comes on 2nd half. Scored some important goals for them this season!

Given the game situation now Isak and Januzaj coming on early second half is certain. Osasuna done a good job so far.

Just watched the Athletic vs Atletico Madrid match. Did anyone know Carrasco was back at Atletico from China? I feel like that's gone completely under the radar (unless it happened 6 months ago and I just didn't notice).

Was close to moving to Spurs in the Jan window or Barca before they went with Braithwaite. He's supposed to be a half decent striker, probably more consistent than Isak but not as good.

Just realized Lopetegui's Sevilla are only 6 points off Madrid if they win this

With an extra game but still.. Seems like he's actually doing a very good job

He got 15 new players for a whopping 177m and is only 2-5 points ahead of Getafe, whose combined new signings were cheaper than his top signing (that played less than 90 minutes in the league despite not suffering from any injuries...). He is doing the bare minimum, while his style rivals LvG's in terms of excitement. Considering how much money he spend, missing the CL would be disaster.

Didn't even know they had that kind of money to spend. But yeah, that sounds more like the Lopetegui I know

Monchi sold a lot of player to recuperate a lot of money. Still 177m is insane for Sevilla. Julen got everything he wanted and the team still relies of mostly of Lucas Ocampos. Without him, he wouldn't be in the top half of the table.
He has a thing with CFs....Sevilla bought Luuk de Jong, Dabbur, En-Nesyri and Chicharito for one starting spot, while Munir was/is also at the club. Dabbur and Chicha already left the club again. I can't say that they were bad, because they hardly played. Rony Lopez joined for 25m and just doesn't play at all. He must have fecked Julen's wife. Some of the other signings are really good, the team is solid and the results are okay. The lack of creativity and goals is a bit exhausting so.

I thought Sevilla had a good talent evaluation system independent of the coach

In the long run it works, but there have always been a lot of duds in between. E.g. Immobile, Ganso, Muriel, Arana, Amadou, Gnagnon, Aleix Vidal (coming back). Most of these players were not super expensive and part of the money can be recuperated, when they get sold again. Its hit and miss with enough hits to make it work.

There have been several very good transfers this season. Diego Carlos, Ocampos, Kounde, Joan Jordan, Regulion, Oliver, Fernando all panned out.

Before Julen joined the club, Monchi already bought Dabbur, while Munir was already here. Julen got Luuk de Jong, but complained that this not enough, so Chicha was a last minute purchase. Dabbur got frozen out from the start; Chicha only got a few minutes, while Luuk was terrible in the first half of the season (currently he is in decent form). So Dabbur and Chicha got sold in the winter break and En-Nesyri was purchased. He is currently still just a sub. He might be a good player. Its hard to say.

The team desperately lacked a proper second winger, but Rony Lopez got relegated to the stands (like Dabbur) and Julen used other players, with mixed results. So he got Suso, who is currently just a sub......

There are at least 10 players on loan, who nobody wants. As long as those are still on the books, I am not super stoked about bloating the squad any further.

He has probably the 5th best team in the league and his style, while absolutely brutal to watch, is effective at least in making them very hard to score against. Meaning if they manage to score they usually win

It helps that atletico have struggled and valencia turned back into a clusterfeck

Next game is against barcelona so hopefully they don't lose

These effects they have going on in the stands at the Barca game achieve nothing but getting me to waggle each half of my face every now and then to make sure I haven't had a stroke.
