La Liga 2017/18

Ramos must be on, or near, some sort of record for red cards. I can't recall another player at a top club who has been sent off as much as he has.

He already broke the Real Madrid red cards record years ago, he probably has his aim in the worlwide #1 now

Casemiro and Carvajal missing due to accumulation along with Ramos with red. Sevilla licking their lips as we speak.

Surely he isn't actually after that record.

Pablo Alfaro, legend

Really should have beaten Vigo today and it would be 10 points. Anyway a good lead.

Madrid aren't showing any intent to decrease the gap just as I predicted. Barca will lose points from time to time but Madrid will keep losing points more and more at their current state.

Barca are going to walk the league.

6 points over Atleti and 8 over Madrid is a good lead. Playing all these games with an out of form Pique and no Umititi and a failing attack will be a test though. Good thing for Barca there's a winter break.

The lack of investing in the squad is really showing for Madrid. They look out of ideas and stale.

We're not going to walk shit. We have our best defender out now for 2 months, our striker is not playing great, and the coach doesn't do enough rotation. And Valencia is 1 point behind. Everybody hopes they fall off, but they mean business.

The good part is that Madrid is on 4th place and miss some key players against a team that is on even points with them. If we beat them in the clasico we can say they're out of the title race.

You're really pessimistic.

Valencia is never going to be a threat for the league whatever their number of points are IMO. I only look at Barca and Madrid in the table. Valencia at some point will fail.

Don't think a player being absent will hurt your chances at all. If Barca is focused enough, they can defeat any team in the league. They'll for sure drop points here and there, but Madrid will lose even more it's clear now. The gap should have been 6 tonight but Madrid fecked it up as usual and will feck it up again and again.

I know La Liga. It's a very hard league with many very technical and good teams. Barca dropped 4 points in 6 days just like that.

2014-2015: title decided in the 37th round
2015-2016: title decided in the last round (38th)
2016-2017: title decided in the last round (38th)

This is not Ligue 1 we're talking about here.

Trying to jinx tomorrow’s match?

Madrid are 100% dropping points next week too. I think tonight showed this isn't just a bad phase, they had all of their starters fit, Barça dropped points earlier in the day, Bilbao aren't very good this season and they still failed to win.

Barça will end up walking the league without needing to be great. The question is if Madrid can still turn up for the Champions League or not.

2 day ago, but now Las Palmas are looking for a new manager, Pako Ayestaran sacked after only 9 games and 2 months. Paco Jemez return to La Liga perhaps?

Ramos is the most overrated defender around, arguably of all-time.
Hmm I disagree, I think he's fairly rated. His red card record is shit but he has won 2 Euro's, 1 WC, 3 CL's and a few league titles.

His trophy haul is impressive but he's also been fortunate to play for a great national side and a great club side. He's nowhere near the defensive level of the likes of Blanc, Ferdinand, Nesta, Stam, et al in prime-for-prime comparison.

La Liga is over, let's not kid ourselves here. It would take the biggest bottle job in football history if Barca lost it now.

This isn't the Premier League, La Liga is the league everyone calls the sunny SPL remember.
