La Liga 2017/18

Leganes has a great defence and Sevilla is struggling to score. I wouldn't expect too much
Though Leganes are the team I'm rooting for in La Liga currently I like Sevilla, too, so it'll be an interesting game from my point of view. A few players I like are on show in G.Pires, Banega, Vazquez, N'Zonzi, Muriel.

That was a great play from Barcelona but what a miss from Messi.

Valencia doing great this season. I was shocked by seeing the league table. Hope they get into europe this year again.

Athletic Bilbao got only 1 win in their last 10 games... And that win was vs Sevilla.

I have no hope for tonight. Considering the tough questions Berizzo has got lately from journalists he is hanging lose. It all depends wether the players would still believe in him or not, as well as the results. It doesn't look good.

@PedroMendez
I'm going to see the derby in January (we might become 20+ swedes heading down to see it)!

Problem is that this could be the first derby at Sanchez Pizjuan that we could lose...in more than over a decade.

Paulinho has been so good, brings a different dimension to that Barça midfield. Umtiti is a superstar though, he's 23 and already one of the best CBs in the world. Easily better than Pique

Semedo doing well for them? We had a Barca supporter here raving about his performances.

This Barça team seems so vulnerable at times but they're more cynical and have been managing to get through these bad periods in games. Their defending has been impressive and much better than Madrid's so far

They've been completely overrun by Athletic all game... ter Stegen is saving their asses.

but I agree the defenders themselves have been good, it's their MF that's very easy to play through.

2-0 to finish a really tough match. This team still has ways to go to improve, but they keep grinding out these wins.

I'm not used to seeing Barca win so many games they shouldn't win. I'm more used to losing points in games we dominated through and through. It's almost as if Mourinho is coaching us.

This game had a draw with goals written all over it. Something like a 2-2 would've been a lot more fair.

Darn, Pires was at fault there. Great goal.

N'zonzi has been very good.

Messi's goal was lovely.

Barca's midfield is a big problem for them. Messi and their GK/CBs (at times) have resulted in a terrific start to the league season.

Sounds like the making of an epic trip. How come, that you support Sevilla as Swede and how did you find 20+ others who do the same? :D

Important and overall deserved 2:1 victory. Leganes was well organised, but going forward the rely on Amrabat and Szymanowski, two interesting players, but thats about it. For the first goal their two CBs fortunately acted a bit rash and opened up space for BenYedder. The pen was a bit soft. They won't stay in the first half of the table much longer but good for them that they picked up so many points already.

Sarabia was MotM. He was already a great option for rotation last season, but currently he deserves a starting spot. His energy, pace, hustle coupled with the ability to create something are vital. Great attitude as well. Brilliant business from monchi to get him for a penny. Hopefully berizzo doesn't rotate him out of the team again. Sadly correa got injured, but at least nolito showed some passion (winning the ball for the second goal).

Now a must win against Moscow in the cl.

Barca are starting to piss me off. Stop winning games you don't deserve you cnuts

Swedish tv channels started to broadcast La Liga in the beginning of the 21st century (right before Ronaldinho went to Barca) and small fan communities started to grow for different teams in Spain after each season. I believe our peña - Peña Sevillista de Escandinavia - has existed for almost a decade now, even though Sevilla started to have swedish fans already back in 2003 or 2004. I am guessing we are about 30-40 members in the peña, and then there a few more fans outside of the peña. It is all thanks to our peña chairman (she moved to Sevilla from Sweden lot of years ago) and vice chairman (he lives in Sweden like most of us); both of them organise lot of networking with other Sevilla fans, events and trips. So our growth is all thanks to them.

I totally agree about Sarabia. :) That left foot is not to be messed with; que Golazo! It looked like we were on bit more edge in the second half, when Banega, Navas and Nolito were brought in; we looked more tough and determined when attacking. I hope this is a sign of us slowly getting our sh!t together (finally!?). It is gonna be nervous vs Moscow.

Messi is just more of the same, but their defenders have simply been incredible. Umtiti in particular.

Their midfield offers very little protection, they don't control games like they used to but they've still only conceded 4 goals in all competitions (14 games) thanks to incredible defending and goalkeeping. I don't know how sustainable that is but so far it's working.

It's pretty brilliant for him to do so when his midfield is being overrun completely.

As for the defenders, I'm not sure if I should praise them all as while the midfield is overrun, they are conceding a lot of chances (it seems).
