La Liga 2017/18

Valencia have been impressive this season, especially every time I've watched them. They played really well vs Real Madrid away too and unfortunately not to come away with something in that game.

You mean the game where benzema missed a thousand sitters?

They got a draw, didn't they?

How much is Pereira playing for Valencia? I do feel we miss him right now with all injuries to our midfield. Annoying that he left.

The weekly Sevilla update after losing against Bilbao. It's one step forward, one step back at the moment. The first half was okay, but overall Bilbao was the better team and they deserve the three points.
Kjaer and NZonzi both with (minor) injuries. Pizarro and Vazquez were okay. The rest of the team played bad.
We missed banega and I don't understand why he didn't play. Without him, the team lacks creativity and rhythm. I dont think that "being tired" is an acceptable reason for him not to start against Bilbao. Geis is still not ready to participate, which limits Toto's options. Still, I am not in love with various of his decisions.

Credible rumours suggest that we are interested in the 20 year old Brazilian Arana. I don't know him, but he seems to be a lb and would cost around 15m. It only makes sense if Escudero wants to leave (15m for a backup is not in the cards). Escudero is one of the best and most consistent performers and I hope he stays. Additionally one of the non-european foreigners would need to leave. It's a bit confusing.

Tomorrow against Moscow...a win would mean a huge step towards KO stage of the cl. I am not particularly optimistic.

You score very few goals. Your attack is a big concern, imo.

Could have won though If I remember. Asensio was fantastic that game though and saved Real's blushes.
They could have nicked a win. They also could have lost badly. Overall it was a great performance from them and they deserved the draw, but it came down to us missing a ton of chances and Neto playing a blinder

I'm still stunned by the difference in Valencia this season. I've lost track a bit of the comings and goings there, but it's not as if there's been any big investment in players. Maybe I just didn't give Marcelino enough credit for his work at Villarreal. Good to see them on the rise again though.

Still up in sixth place after 8 games. Nosebleed heights for a club like Leganes.
Yeah, I can't believe how well they're doing. A bad period will come soon but, with their great start, they've given themselves some breathing room.

I don't know what's happened to Guerrero. He's seemingly not injured but hasn't been in the squad the past 4 or so games. He isn't a prolific striker by any means but I thought, with his energy, he brought a lot to the team and formed a decent partnership with Pires.

Marcelino man. That's the biggest difference for them. They were great under Nuno the first season, then the dressing room imploded and they spent two seasons with a broken team. Marcelino fixed that. The players were always good

Marcelino's underrated, which is odd since he's been around a while.

I can still remember his impressive Recreativo side with the likes of Cazorla, Uche, Viqueira, Sinama-Pongolle etc that beat Capello's Madrid 3-0 at the Bernabeu.

I think that's probably why I wasn't thinking of him as a difference-making manager - he has been around a while. It's quite a chequered history, and Villarreal's his first real long term stay. But then, by Liga standards, I guess it's not really such an odd sequence, especially as some moves were about his ambitions rather than him just getting sacked.

Villareal fans must be so pissed off right now. Crazy decision to sack him.

Valencia heavily, as Seville are going through a bad spell.

Some finishing from Guedes these last few games

Marcelino you beast!
Sevilla have gone down the shitter after a decent season start.

Barça playing Malaga who have 1 point out of their first 8 games. They should start rotating or the team will be dead by the end of the season, Messi, Suarez and Busquets seem to be playing every single minute and with Olympiakos at home on Wednesday and now Malaga they had a perfect chance to do it. Not sure what their plan is, especially with the World Cup at the end of the season.

At least for the next couple of days there won't be Barça fans crying here about the refs

Another incredible goal by Guedes. What's that? 5 assists and 3 goals? I really wasn't expecting it
