La Liga 2017/18

Agreed. I hope we can still get him, Lewandowski or another striker in.

Did Madrid want to sell Morata or was it his own request? Must be regretting it if it's the former.

Madrid have a problem in the attack now. The only consistent goal scorer in the team currently is Ronaldo, with Asensio second with his shooting. Isco is a great player but not consistent goal scorer, Benzema is a crap finisher and Bale is past it.

Last season Zidane was able to rest Ronaldo and keep him in form for the tougher games depending on Morata and James. This season and with this rate he'll be forced to play Ronaldo all the time resulting in his exhaustion and this will be a massive problem by the end stage of the season.

4 days remaining in the market. Madrid should bring a striker ASAP because entering the season without a striker easing the burden from Ronaldo will affect the team coming the crucial last months of the season.

Their bench was their strongest point last season and the reason they could go on for both CL and La Liga. They season they look like as if they lost the depth somewhat in the attack.

This beside, they're still very, very strong in creating billions of chances each match and in another day they could have won 5-2. If Ronlado played today he might have scored a hattrick.
It shows the importance of a goal scorer. It always annoyed me when people used to say that all Ronaldo did was finish the chances created for him by his talented team mates. Madrid might have been overconfident about getting the Mbappe signing done. No one expected PSG to sign Neymar AND Mbappe in one window. So now they have been caught out and need to find a replacement quickly.

Yep I also couldn't understand the criticism Ronaldo was getting when he's scoring loads of goals. If anything he should take a credit for him changing his playstyle to keep scoring the same loads of goals he used to be.

Look at Bale, younger than Ronaldo by 4 years and he's already past it. Ronlado should take the credit for keeping himself the best in the world in his 32.

James leaving wasn't a problem because Asensio will take his minutes but Morata leaving is a big problem and I have no idea what they were thinking when they let him go without getting a replacement. Morata scored 20 goals last season and was their second highest goalscorer, this team creates chances for fun but there needs to be someone that can consistently finish them too. Letting players like Danilo and Pepe go was also the wrong decision. They have a very long season with a tough Champions League group and the club world cup on top of it and they lost depth in defense and in attack that they won't be replacing. Cristiano will be 33 in February and the plan should be resting him as much as possible like last season especially because he'll want to be ready for the World Cup at the end of the season.

The weird thing is in the past transfer windows they have barely spent any money and they've been making massive sales so they must be full of money to spend and yet they're just risking it and hoping this squad is enough.

Benzema isn't overrated and he's a great foil for Ronaldo and it's fine having someone with his poor finishing when you have someone as good as Ronaldo making sure you won't be punished for the former not being able to finish anything,

I think Zidane is happy with his squad of stars and kids and Perez won't go against his wishes and just sign any superstar unless Zidane asks for it. That being said, they really need cover in an already mediocre defense and also a backup striker. Once Ronaldo is back, one of Bale/Asensio will be back on the bench and that's a good enough option to bring on in games.

Adult transfer ffs. What a stupid comment.
K. I was half joke with that comment, but since you're so thick and arrogant then how about Puskas?

For all we know Asensio has a long way to prove himself over the rest of his career.

Now it seems too late to buy a striker, unless they have been working on someone these last weeks.
I would find strange if not they pay 50 or 60 in another striker type Werner, Berardi, etc and I do not think the option of a low profile striker will fix the bad days of Benzema.

Seeing the form of Asensio I wonder if the club won´t regret not selling Bale

No idea how you arrived at that conclusion. I think the lesson is if you've nothing nice to say, don't say anything.

I'm just saying Valencia had every opportunity to win that match. One good final ball would see them 2 vs the GK on at least three separate occasions.

I'm aware you had some astonishing chances, but in gambling for the win (and even at 1-2) Valencia could and should have sealed it as well.

Well, it did went as a very open game and had Valencia won I would have considered it a fair result an good win for them, I would be very mad at Benzema though if it had gone that way though.

Been laughing histerically for the last half hour
:lol::lol::lol:

Been saying this for a while, but we absolutely need another CB. Vallejo is green and injury prone, Varane is injury prone, and Nacho is ok as 4th choice but can't be playing as much as he did last season there

Much needed reality check overall. This is good. Everything's ok. We need to realize we're not the second coming of 1970 Brazil.

Also, why is it that kondogbia and murillo looked like right donkeys at inter but as soon as they leave they look like good players?!?! And against us of all teams

Well Kondogbia was a beast for Sevilla, seems Spain is his home turf.

Valencia have a great record at the Bernabeu for the past few years but Benzema was a complete joke in front of goal. For all of Barcelona's incompetence not signing a striker and selling Bale are big mistakes from Real.

For Benzema his main problem is it takes a while for him to hit form, he will come good eventually but having someone competing for his spot would be ideal. There's a buy back clause on Mariano if he becomes better like what it happened with Morata but I'd fancy if we got a back up striker like when we had Chicharito who would come in and just be in charge of finishing chances.

Madrid are fine in attack, Yes Morata has gone, but I see Ronaldo playing more of a centre forward role more this season. Theres been signs Zidane is planning to move him there a few times Benzema has been subbed and Ronaldo takes over the position in his own way. Also Isco will be angling for a move if he doesn't get sufficient playing time and if hes playing as he is right now he will be a starter anyway and Asensio pushing he will become more of an important player this season, Lucas Vasquez has been decent too

Is it true that Bale's new contract is around 600K/PW gross? If it is, at that wage he is virtually untransferable, i don't see anyone willing to match that.

I may have missed something or forgot someone, but have Real even make a signing this summer?
Ceballos and Theo Hernández. Vallejo, Mayoral and Llorente were on loan last year and came back.

Definitely too late for any serious business now but Real should ask Bayern about taking Muller on loan. He needs a change of scenery and Real need a finisher.

Classy in that armband, nothing changes - only surprise is that they didn't get that PK, not that Valencia didn't get their's earlier

I think he needs a change of scenery and to give up his ambition of playing all over the front. He's a winger and that's where he should play. I still think he'd be great in the Premiership or even Ligue 1. But in Spain where every team bar Barsa sit back and close spaces against Madrid, his pace is useless.

How is Zaza playing at this level ? What a terrible footballer.
I think he is pretty decent for Valencia. He provides a good outlet up front. He is imo not a terrible footballer at all. He is quite talented, but his decision making is occasionally letting him down.

@prarek finally you have a good team again. I really like parejo+kondogbia and all the youngster. Murillo could turn out to be great as well. Hopefully you don't finish ahead of Sevilla:mad:

Kondgobia is indeed a beast, welcome back. Loved his post match comments after being interviewed by journalists too:

Reporter: “¿Qué opinas de la ausencia del mejor del mundo”.
Kondogbia: “No sabía que Leo Messi jugaba en el Real Madrid”.

Reporter: What are your thoughts about the absence of the best player in the world?
Kondgobia: I didn't know Leo Messi played for RM

4 games into the season 2 penalties to Barça, 2 against Madrid, 2 red cards to Madrid and you come here and have the balls to cry about it? Not only that but most of those decisions were wrong and Pique just literally dived and won you a penalty 2 days ago! It's just unbelievable how deluded you are. Did they brainwash you or something like that because you're actually a good poster on any other subject.

That video you showed could easily be a penalty too  Parejo's right leg kicks Marcelo's right leg so it's not like Marcelo is diving like the the guy you have upfront who you have no problem supporting every week despite him being probably the biggest cnut in the history of the game. Madrid will most likely win the league because they're the better team and even Barça fans agree with that, so just stop crying about it and worry about your team instead of creating conspiracies and excuses. Fans like you have almost stopped football from being enjoyable in Portugal, I'm not even sure these fans like football or you just watch it because you like crying and conspiracy theories.

Don't even like Real but have to agree with you, Barca supporters can be so fecking deluded on here

2 reds for RM? Why not, embellish, you're post is full of hyperbole anyway. They should have had at least 2 red - one for Ramos much earlier than he ultimately did at the end of the first match but Casemiro without question against Valencia. Mind you, Ramos didn't even get the minimum ban that everyone else in La Liga got for a red but hey, who's counting

2 penalties out of a possible 4 on the season so far - they are at least calling some but clearly not all. Ramos should've been sent off earlier against Depo. Apparently not even a booking in Spain

Casemiro, per usual, was guilty of cynical fouls that at a minimum should've seen him off on cards but also Valencia had two legitimate penalty claims against him including his bearhug stop of Gaya but this is Spain

Yeah, I'd laugh while typing that myself, Marcelo diving to try and win a penalty is not new - only that he didn't get it at home

2 reds. Cristiano in the Supercup and Ramos in the league against Deportivo. Two wrong reds. 2 pens for Barça. The Suarez dive in the Supercup and the Pique dive on Saturday although the latter at least was an understandable decision by the ref and there was contact.

Ramos should have been sent off earlier along with the Deportivo player in the same game. You seem to just have included the picture of Ramos and forgotten what caused that reaction. Ramos got sent off for 2 yellow cards. He got suspended for one game which is the minimum ban so I have no idea what you're talking about the suspension. Meanwhile Cristiano's second yellow vs Barça didn't get rescinded after 2 appeals.

Casemiro, per usual, was guilty of cynical fouls that at a minimum should've seen him off on cards but also Valencia had two legitimate penalty claims against him including his bearhug stop of Gaya but this is Spain

That wasn't even close to being a penalty ffs. Casemiro made 3 fouls against Valencia and got a yellow for it. None of them were violent so that's perfectly fair too.

Yeah, I'd laugh while typing that myself, Marcelo diving to try and win a penalty is not new - only that he didn't get it at home

I'm not going to bother anymore. The problem isn't even if you're right or wrong, it's the constant excuses and crying that are tiring. You're a good poster talking about anything else. If Barça is in the topic you turn absolutely blind.

Not part of the season, over two games as you wrote

Cristiano in the Supercup and Ramos in the league against Deportivo. Two wrong reds. 2 pens for Barça. The Suarez dive in the Supercup and the Pique dive on Saturday although the latter at least was an understandable decision by the ref and there was contact.

CR pushed a ref after he was correctly red carded for his 2nd yellow and Article 96 of the Spanish federation’s rule book states that any player who attempts to “grab, push or shake” a referee in a manner that is “slightly violent” could get a ban of four to 12 matches, even in the Premiership it is a 6 match ban - he got the near minimum ban when it could've/should've been longer. Cringeworthy on your part

Ramos should have been sent off earlier along with the Deportivo player in the same game. You seem to just have included the picture of Ramos and forgotten what caused that reaction.

I guess that means you agree he was correctly sent off. He had more bookable offenses earlier and should've been sent off before the 60th minute

Ramos got sent off for 2 yellow cards. He got suspended for one game which is the minimum ban so I have no idea what you're talking about the suspension.

Griezmann & Banega 2 match bans for doing far less but sure, it fits your narrative

I wrote 4 games. I was talking about the supercup too, sorry if I wasn't clear.

I guess that means you agree he was correctly sent off. He had more bookable offenses earlier and should've been sent off before the 60th minute

No, he should have been sent off earlier but when he got sent off he was obviously wrongly sent off. He only made 2 fouls for the whole game so those other bookable offenses you just took out of your ass must be yellow card worthy indeed. Are we just making stuff up now?

Griezmann & Banega 2 match bans for doing far less but sure, it fits your narrative

I have no narrative. Or rather, my narrative is that you crying here like a hypocrite is terrible. I couldn't care less if Madrid or Barça get robbed or if one gets more robbed than the other, they both get more calls in their favour than any other club in Europe. I'm arguing with the calls just because you have no idea what you're talking about and you're wrong on pretty much every ref decision you mention since you're looking at the plays either wearing big blaugrana glasses or after you've been brainwashed at the Camp Nou.

Griezmann and Banega got sent off for insulting the ref which means it's a 2 match ban and they were consistent on both cases. Ramos got sent off for 2 yellows which is obviously a 1 match ban, they obviously can't suspend him for the first incident where he should have been sent off since the ref saw it and gave him a yellow for it. If you think Ramos should have been suspended more than one game you don't have any idea how suspensions work.

He pushed a ref and he got rightly suspended 4 games for that. The yellow has nothing to do with the push. Again, you have no clue what you're talking about.

You were complaining about wrong suspensions when the only wrong suspension in Spain so far is Cristiano getting a 1 game suspension for a dive when he didn't dive. He should be back for the game at the Anoeta which is probably the toughest game of the start of the season for Madrid. Real Madrid appealed twice and it got rejected twice. Unfortunately, in Spain it's normal for this to happen since they usually stick by the refs even in wrong decisions and it takes a very very bad decision for them to actually do anything about it but you being the one complaining about the suspensions is hilarious.
