Did it take a deflection off the defender? In that case, i'm not sure but, wouldn't that negate the offside?

It shouldn't, as it's just a deflection. Marcelo was still in an offside position when Benzema shot/passed towards goal.

Sexy goal

Edit: Nah, that's not enough. One of the best counters i've ever seen.

Yeah that 4th one made me miss the Ronaldo-Good Rooney-Tevez etc. days of deadly United counter attacks.

Real stopped bothering in the second half. If Betis manage to score another one, it might become interesting.

Edit: Nevermind.

It was nice to see finally a proper destruction like this from the Spanish giants. It's weird seeing them on the same point total as Spurs.

Basque derby between Athletic Club and La Real...

Feisty start, Aduriz and Íñigo Martínez involved in a scrap.

Nice infiltration and volleyed finished from Zurutuza on a flicked-on header. 0-1 !

Some rumors say that Kiyotake might be on his way back to Germany in the winter, if he doesn’t get more time. Hopefully Nasri continues his current form and can become a vital kog in the team.

Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me about Kiyotake, and I wouldn't blame him either. Personally, I'm surprised at how little he's featured recently considering I thought he was playing well at the start and is generally a decent player. I still hope he sticks around.

@PedroMendez I hope those rumours are not true. Season is long and tough, and many of these players will have their regression in form sooner or later, we will need all alternatives there is for rotation. Especially since no player (except for mariano, vitolo and possibly Rico) are guaranteed to be a starter. I believe Kiyotake got quality to bring to this team, and he will need time to adapt. Although it is always understandble if a player wants to leave, to get more time elsewhere. It would be a shame though.

Yeah, Nasri have been a nice surprise !

Muniain with a world class strike to even things up... He was furious at being denied a penalty just seconds earlier, gets back up, receives the ball again, comes inside with fierce determination and thunders it into the far post, off the inside of the post and in. No chance for Rulli.

edit: and now a goal chalked off for Athletic for offside, they're dominating the game and should go on to win if they keep this up.

Aduriz with the coolest of chips in a situation where many players would've lost their calm and just tried to blast it... 2-1

Oyarzabal with a pretty amazing and unexpected volley from very far out, good save by Iraizoz.

I will watch this later online. Looking at whoscored it seems Bilbao have had most of the chances. Is that right?

Yeah, they've been dominating all game, but now especially in the 2nd half they're putting La Real under lots of pressure (the 2nd goal came from a combination of a poor backpass and pressing from Athletic forwards)... however R.Sociedad look capable on the counter.

Iñaki Williams in fine form today, at times toying with his marker.. Great speed and control.

It's also sad what happened to Carlos Vela... a couple of seasons ago he was one of the best forwards in the league, but ever since Moyes he's been completely hit and miss (to be fair, so have Real Sociedad as a whole).

And meanwhile 3-1, more pressing leads to a DF being dispossed in his own third. Tap-in for Williams.

Good news. Will be a good win for them.
Moyes does that to you.

Ouch. Yeray and Oyarzabal bouncing off each other like crash test dummies. That's gotta hurt.

Oof... San Mamés awfully quiet in these last minutes. Willian José just completely mishit what should've been the equaliser. What a chance.
