Pele's record is counting friendlies of all kinds against nobodies. Wouldn't be surprised if he even counted the goals he scores in his home's garden
This made me laugh but so true, think his official tally is around 750 in 800, somewhere around there.

Monchi is officially saying adiós today. There will be a press conference at 12.30 (11.30 in Great Britain time). His contract will be terminated.

The official statement is that he needs new challenges. But everybody knows that the main issue is him not getting along with the board about how Sevilla should be in the transfer market.

What's changed now compared to how things were before?

I believe he is frustrated that Sevilla tends to 'start all over again' every summer. He also believes that there's enough budget to take risks in the transfer market, but the board don't agree with him on these notes. They both have reached a point where they can't compromise anymore.

Thanks for the info. From what you're saying it seems that Sevilla's board is unambitious and Monchi's right in moving to another club which is more ambitious now(especially under the new owners). Makes sense on his part.

Ah that is a shame, I think he's done an incredible job at Seville and he was the one I wish had said yes rather than Ramos :D.

Will be interesting to see what he does at Roma then.

@KM yeah, that is certainly the impression:( Although, it will be interesting to see what they'll say in the press conference.

@africanspur it is a bit scary and exciting at the same time. 'Scary', since Sevilla working without Monchi is unheard of. 'Exciting', because everything has an ending, and it is thereore interesting to see how Sevilla will cope, as well as how Monchi will do in Roma.

Roma not confirmed yet.

I expect Roma to improve a lot next season. Monch is just what you need to help a good team become a great one.

Raúl is back to Madrid. He will be "presidential advisor". I am not very clear what that means.
Maybe it's a previous step to become later Director of football.

It could be anything. Madrid doesn't seem to really buy into coherent and comprehensive organizational structures. What I perceive is that most of the things that are going on at the club are either called by Perez or Zidane.

Always Perez. Advisors just give him ideas so he can play around with

I would like him in some position like Zidane when he was "Nexus between Squad and players" with Mourinho.
I would like some of the his old character,a very competitive and demanding captain with the new signings.
The same if he stays in the office, the old Raúl with weight in the club(but trying to avoid that he rules the club) and not the boring version of these last years

How do you rate Nicola Sansone and Cedric Bakambu? Can they make a step-up?
I watched Sansone closely when he played for Parma. He was one of the key players when we qualified to the Europa League (then we went bakrupt). He can play on the whole frontline or even in a 4-man midfield.
Talking about Bakambu, i just know he was great in the Europa League last season.

I think so, they're two very good players with complementary skillsets. Still, villarreal are already pretty much at their level

Seville-Gijon now. Seville need a win after a run of 3 winless games.
0-0 HT. Seville have been quite good, have created some good chances, but have lacked the cutting edge so far.

Think the game been boring, with lack of clear chances for either teams. Sevilla are still as poor as before the internationals. We are really struggling.
