Kylian Mbappe signs new contract at PSG until 2025 | LaLiga will file a complaint

I'd have understood the uproar if Mbappe officially said in January that he would join Real Madrid. He's always kept it quiet
I think the misplaced confidence/arrogance stemmed from last summer. Mbappe highly likely would have joined RM if PSG accepted the offer from RM. Mbappe was publicly confirmed his desire to leave, no?

The Spanish side now gets butthurt because of the big picture perspective, especially after a more successful season for RM.

I find Tebas and la Liga's whining hilarious. Barcelona and Madrid routinely outspent everyone else and Tebas didn't have one word to say. And now all we have see are tears from Tebas, and Madrid.

Tebas point is not that he does not like other clubs outspending Real Madrid and Barcelona. His point is that PSG are doing what they want with FFP rules. Whether he is right or not, I don't really know. I haven't digged enough to know if PSG are breaching or not the rules.

It's not a regular signing bonus, Mbappé was free to leave, it's not as if he extended his contract with one or 2 years up. It's as if they were getting him like any other club since he could have signed anywhere.

And it was reported pretty much everywhere that Real Madrid was offering a similar amount.

But I guess you're unhappy because you proudly reported an absurd tweet from eurosport.es that mentionned 300M as a signing bonus.
You're right, £100m so much better. Total bargain.

The game is beyond saving tbh.

How does this unsettle the likes of Neymar, Messi, Verrati, Donnuruma etc? Important players that make them actually tick?

Upcoming contracts for top players, players they need to win the big prizes will all want similar money.
They are going to need the right manager to win the big one. They have had these players and still cannot win the CL. Zidane to PSG. To seriously upset Real.

This jackass chose money ahead of completing his dream move. On the other hand what the hell are La Liga filing a complaint for? All seems like a big joke which modern football kinda is to be frank.

Imagine the PSG dressing room hearing that Mbappe just got a £100m signing on bonus and is on £1m a week? He pretty much runs the club now, managers and players will be sacked if he thinks they’re not up to it.
Yes, his dad is already on the way to replace Pochettino, and Messi has been relegated to putting the cones down in training and making sure to carry all the bags to the team bus on away games. According to Mbappe's entourage, he hasn't decided yet what to do with Neymar, but he amuses him so he plans on keeping him at the very least as court jester.

The crazy part is some of you are silly enough to buy these nonsensical contract stipulations that absolutely no one outside of Mbappe's family and PSG have seen, so I'm sure this could land as a real possibility for some.

He also had no issue when both clubs were helping their stars avoid paying taxes. I often try to be fair toward Madrid and Barcelona but every summer Tebas reminds me that they are a plague on Football.

If you think this won’t affect the team and completely change dressing room dynamics then you haven’t been paying attention to what’s happened at United since they broke their wage structure for players like Pogba

Why would that upset Madrid. He won them three on the bounce and is a club legend.

He has zero affiliation to Paris, so if he goes, it's purely money.

None of these players are anywhere near as important as Mbappe is. Maybe Verratti.

In a way, but it also puts all the pressure onto Mbappe to produce even more, especially in vital CL games.
Which will be hilarious when the rest of the team don't work for him and he then moans to the owner, who then goes and buys other players to work for Mbappe.

It's a team sport, seems they've forgotten this.

This is huge for PSG, a Ligue 1 in general. Keeping a hometown hero in the league is important for the profile of French football.

On the other hand I don't think Real Madrid should be butt hurt about it. I personally don't believe Mbappe is worth the money RM were willing to pay, it was honestly insane. This is a club with no shortage of superstars in the past, they shouldn't need to whore themselves out for him.

If I was a Madrid fan, I'd be happy that we could use all the money they have to really revamp some positions with four solid signings.

I'm not sure what your argument is anymore. Real was offering the same amount (some reports even said they offered 140M) so what's the problem. PSG should have offered less so they loose the player?
Is it better to pay this amount of money to a club for a transfer? How much would it cost in transfer fee for PSG to get a player at Mbappé's level? Why is it more virtuous to give the money to a club instead of a player?

This is funny.

It is sad that oil money has destroyed our sport, but it's already done so all we can do is laugh and when the time comes find a new sport

Oh yes, the stable locker room vibes that PSG is renowned for.

Tebas throwing stones in glass houses, La Liga had no problem with this.

Yep, we all knew Messi was on outrageous money back then. This is all just La Liga crying about the fact that their league fades further into obscurity post Messi/Ronaldo.

The best player of all time who generated hundreds of millions for the league and the club vs a 23 year old?

Wow, what a nice own goal.

Basic math, you do realise than 138M+variables>>>>>>> 52M right?

Also, it was a VERY different situation, Mbappé's contract was ending, he could have signed anywhere. Messi still had 1 year left on his contract when he extended in 2017.

This is a bit sad tbh. These clubs are taking money to crazy levels which is impossible for anyone to refuse. Fact is that three of the footballers who you would pay a lot of money to watch are playing together for a team people don’t want to watch

Oh mate.......bless your heart. My sympathies

Oil and sugar daddy money didn't destroy Football in 1992 and it hasn't destroyed Football in 2022.

Not sure what LaLiga has to do with this?

But I do feel that Mbappe signing for PSG shows that he isn't ready for challenge or afraid of it. Instead he chooses to play in league that is maybe fifth in Europe for ton of money. I can understand him choosing money before football if he needs and wants money.

Soulless sports washing vanity project, why would anyone want to watch three pro footballers playing farmers every weekend?
