Klopp to leave Liverpool at the end of the season

He's the best Manager in the World. They are fecked now. Just hope they don't win the title and equal our record, because it's definitely not happening after this season!

Salah leaving for that sweet Saudi dosh, I wouldn’t blame him if he wants to get out with his reputation intact.

Nigh on 15 years at the top of the game is no mean feat, very unlucky not to get another league title in the BL or PL but c’est la vie.

Hopefully they'll get Liverpool legend Stevie Me in to replace him.

Unfortunately Gerrard starting fecking up too early at Villa. If he had gotten 18 months of respectable levels out of them, then this might have been an actual conversation in the media. Shame

One of the best though my ass.

1 UCL & 1 PL in 9yrs

He’s great but he ain’t one of the best.

He was up against a GOAT level manager backed by a nation-state with endless resources, and they even cheated their way to success throughout this period.

Why announce this mid season when they are in a title race?

Supposedly they wanted to keep it quiet until the end of the season, but it'd been leaked so they're getting out ahead of it.

Man City only have one champions league during this period.

During this time united managed by Jose and ole have finished above him in the league as well.

Must be the first winter window where football news is dominated by management moves rather than player moves, crazy!
Could be particularly smart timing for Klopp if he finishes the season with a league title.
I imagine he is Madrid bound. Alonso to Liverpool (though Stevie G would be just so much more fun!).
And Ancelotti to Brazil? or maybe....

Is he and Pep the only managers in the world to never get sacked? Pretty impressive to be in management for nigh on 20 years (slightly more than that for Klopp) and to have never been sacked by any club.

Thought he was much older than 56, only 3/4 years older than likes of Ten Hag and Emery. Still got one or two runs at major trophies left in him

The world is realigning!
I know many people might be seeing it like this but this is the best analogy to what's happening.

The world is realigning for United domination. Everything is working out perfectly. We have paid our price in 10 years the full circle of life is about to roll us back on top.

That's far more than what anyone expected from him especially since he was competing with an unstoppable force like Man City. He finished 2 other league campaigns 2nd with +90 points without winning the title just because it was Man City. Also reached 2 other CL finals and was unlucky to face Real Madrid in both of them.

No one expected any of this when he got the job.

He can still win the league this season by the way.

Is time for Berrada to show us what he can do. Time to get Klopp in.
Despite the terrible season for us, if we can snatch COO from City and Manager from Pool, that would be an amazing feat to give us some comfort.

This is embarrassing. Not one person associated with United should want Klopp and it's not like he would even consider it anyways. And I don't hate the man.

Do you really want us to return to the top by just poaching everyone from City and Pool...what's the point of that

Ancelotti just extended his contract, so did Xabi Alonso. Klopp said he's taking at least a year sabbatical.

Didn’t he get sacked at Dortmund?

Didn't see that coming at all. Hope he's fine.

I suppose he'll take a break and then reconsider. Unless there's a deal in the background for the German national team, which I think would suit him fine.

A big loss to Liverpool. I really like the guy and rate him higher than Pep.

He resigned but they were doing badly. He's always taken jobs at underdogs, overachieved with them and made himself virtually unsackable no matter how shit things get. Which is why he's never managed a team with genuine expectations.

Suspect maybe has something lined up, after a break? considering nearly his whole backroom will be going as well.

Not gonna lie, on the one hand I am happy as that means Liverpool will inevitably get worse no matter who they get. On the other hand Klopp is just such a fascinating character it will be a huge loss for the PL.

He's taking at least a year off he said, pretty hard to convince everyone to do the same when they're not paid the same as he is. Plus, they apparently want to start their own management careers now.

Its not that Liverpool owns him so we'd poach him. He's a manager who changes clubs.

Absolutely shocked when I seen this news break through. Scousers will be feeling the same way we were feeling when SAF announced his retirement - complete shock and absolutely gutted.

No doubt odds on fav for the Germany job which I think will be his next. Just hope he’s appointed after the Euros and not before it (Scotland perspective :))

Liverpool will go up a gear for the rest of the season, win it for klopp etc...media will be all over them particularly praising the Liverpool fans then last game of the season City win the League in the 98th minute

Deutschland Detshcland uber Allen. He is obviously lining up the Germany job and all I can say is thank God because he could have made the Scousers a dinasty again. So its up to Pep or Arsenal to make sure that they dont make it 20 this season.

He says no other club in England and he doesn't want to go to a non English or German speaking country so that leaves Dortmund, Bayern and "Mannschaft". Can't see him wanting to take care of this current crop of German players. Bayern or Dortmund in 18-24 months wouldn't surprise me.

Also having complained about us not having anything positive to talk about (in the Sancho thread minutes before the announcement), I take full credit for this.

This could coincide with the early declines of van Dijk and Salah. Might be a difficult few years for Liverpool going forward.
Might? It's nailed on. They have zero structure outside of Klopp, that's why everyone has been banging the 'just get a good manager' drum in the Ten Hag thread for months now.

Made my day. Week even.

But they will get Alonso or De Zerbi and carry on, I feel like.
