King's of Leon's are C***s.

Which is all the more reason for this period of success to be commended for KOL, they did it with no reputation and worked very hard to build from the ground.

Meh. They can do what they want with their success. Im not trying to begrudge them that, lots of people like them. I just don’t like the self-important behaviour, same with Guns and Roses recently. If you want to act like a rockstar go trash something, get drunk and raise hell. Don’t be a big girls blouse when the crowd aren’t what you expect, don’t like your songs or (in the case of GnR) are rightly pissed off. It smacks of egotism and at the end of the day it’s the fans money that allow them to act the big balls.

I'm a bit surprised because I've been hearing only good things about them from people who went to their concerts, they probably had a bad day or something because they're actually said to be nice in person.

By the way, they have a new album coming up next month - can't wait.

Well that Reading thing, a girl from work went to it and said that the sound check was awful and they could barely hear them so it was really hard for people to get into it, then when they tried to get the crowd going they said something along the lines of "you're not making it easy for us up here" and loads of people started jeering and booing so they got pissed off and thought feck it.

No one was really into them the last time I went, mate. It had nothing to do with the sound check. They played a succession of shit songs and gave the distinct impression that they weren't all that arsed, and the crowd reacted to that by also not being that arsed.

First time I saw them they were excellent. Second time they were nowhere near as good, though still alright except for playing too many rubbish, boring songs. The third time the best I can say is that we had a fun evening overall. My missus is a fan who loves pretty much any live music, and wasn't all that impressed.

They've sold out musically and image wise, and it shows. I'm sure they're nice enough blokes as far as mega rich musicians go, and the story about the hand sanitizer sounds suspiciously fabricated/made up, but as far as being a rock band goes...they're doing it wrong.

First 2 albums were great but having heard some of the tracks from their new ablum I can safely say their embarrassing descent into borderline boyband stadium rock mediocrity is now complete.

Shame really.

I haven't heard their new album but I found their first one truly awful, I bought it in a compilation and couldn't stand it, it was like random shouting combined with weird noises. Next two were very good (especially the third one, Because Of The Times) and I enjoyed Only By The Night too. I'll be buying the new album as soon as it's out.

Their first album is their best work by a country mile.

We've quite different tastes so, for me their third album was ok but it was where it all started to go wrong for them IMO. By Only By the Night it was getting a bit ridiculous (Sex on Fire mmmm), the absence of Ethan Johns as producer in particular was very noticeable.... I remember an interview after their second album where they said he was a 5th member of the band and a driving force behind them.....

'Because of the Times' was the only album I really liked. Was in between what they once were and what they have become.

I thought Because of the Times was their best album frankly. But I do love their earlier work too, I remember listening to California Waiting for the first time and got addicted, strange to think that was almost 8 years ago!

I'm very much in the first two albums - class; everything since - crap, camp.

The third album was alright but I only listened to them after the fourth had come out, and went through all the albums in order, and the decline/transition to boy band definitely began with the third.

Their new stuff sounded even more like Only By The Night than Only By The Night did.

Cool young bucks

Not that I could give a shit what they look like but their music has gone in a similar direction to their choice in clothes, all style, no substance. They should take one listen to their new single and cringe.

Nah, most of my friends think the same. Perhaps I haven't given the first album enough time, I'll try it to listen to it again tomorrow because it's still somewhere at my home. California Waiting is a great tune but the rest I didn't like.

Heard the whole of the new album. Bitterly disappointed. One track "Mary"'isn't bad and reminds me of the beatles "oh darling". It's their last album on their current contract. I'm hoping a new label will provide less restrictions.

I bought the new album, love it and don't care if people don't. :D Radioactive is probably the worst track on it.

Most bland rock band I've heard in a long time. I'd rather listen to cement mixers churn for 20 hours than listen to 40 minutes of their "OMG BEST MUSIX EVER"

Honestly you are literally the first person Ive heard to make that claim. Different league

I keep getting emails from their website telling me to buy the new album, so I eventually gave in and downloaded a few songs I hadn't previously heard...I couldn't even differentiate one from the other. Why didn't they just stick to what they were actually good at?

Pressure from all angles probably

Begining to feel a bit sorry for my mate now. He's wanted to see them for ages...tried to get tickets to one of their O2 gigs a while back, but his missus somehow ordered Snow Patrol tickets instead. Then he was going to see them at V, but missed them due to some spastic series of events. Then he finally got tickets to see them at the O2 last night, but the gig was cancelled last minute due to a fire. He's also a big fan of Oasis and never seen them. He went to see them at V a coule of years back, but they cancelled and were replaced....by Snow Patrol.

Is there an award for world's unluckiest person in the field of gig attending?

I'd have been gutted if they'd cancelled when we saw them at the O2 mind, considering what we went through to get the tickets in the first place :nervous:

Because being queers doesn't pay the rent?
