Why would the Spanish champions be after Jesse Lingard?
Because he's a good player and would suit their style of play.

Yeah and hes streets ahead if we want to play wing backs. He’ll put AWB out the side. He’s very under rated on this forum.
Whilst i dont think hes as limited as some on here think he is this just doesnt seem realistic.Because he's a good player and would suit their style of play.
Seriously? He's good at going to the ground to tackle, what else?
I see this as a move that could suggest a back 3 with AWB playing at RCB.
?????
9 out of 10 times AWB first touch is amazing.
He got explosive acceleration and long strides, making it difficult to defend against.
His final delivery has improved, better than his CP days.
His man marking can be better, but he is already putting many top wingers to shame.
This is what agenda is like, only see AWB as the "bambi on ice" stigma.
I agree. Adding him to the squad wouldnt have a big impact. AWB is also always available to play. Either go for a completely different player than AWB (attacking FB) or buy a proper DM. Nothing in between. We dont have unlimited funds.I see no point in Trippier except for maybe the set piece plays and I still expect Bruno and Rashford to be in charge of those.
We have a decent back up options in Dalot, Laird, Williams.
If you're going to go and get a proper offensive RB, go for it. Tripper though just seems like a waste of funds that I worry will take away from our ability to address the middle of the park which is a more pressing issue
We don't seem to be addressing DM/CM area this season. Therefore, I am ok with this transfer.

I would take a bet on that he won't.He’ll put AWB out the side. He’s very under rated on this forum.

Yeah, he absolutely won't. He'd probably play against teams we'd expect to dominate, but AWB would start the big games.
Yeah, links are links though. I doubt we would have enough money unless a few go out if we sign 3.There are some links to Camavinga- so at the very least, we’re looking to add quality depth in the middle.
He's willing to push for move and the earlier claims that he had 2 years left on his deal have been debunked he indeed has ONE year left. What has changed on this? Has Atletico suddenly lowered his price or something? I haven't been following since the last time I heard they were demanding 40m for him or something.
A fee of around £18m will be required to prise him away from Atletico.
Both deals (Trips/Varane) are all but complete with announcements expected towards the end of next week.
He won't, and you name your bet.I'll take that bet! He'd start more games than AWB over the season, no doubt!
Yeah I’ve been wondering that. There’s more than one way to skin a cat, and having a Shaw equivalent on the right might be the easiest way to get more creativity in the middle third, even at the expense of losing AWB’s ace tacking. If we are still going to play with 2 sitting midfielder this season which seems more likely, buffing the wings with more attacking full backs seems logical.
Maybe, it is what Ole is trying. And, it will give AWB something to improve his attacking play to another level.

If we don't sign a CM this season, that means Pogba is staying. Having him, Bruno and the expected ball playing improvement from CBs might be enough for creativity from the middle with Cavani being good with heading the ball from wings. It makes sense to buff the wing attacking play this season for that. Frankly, it was a tad shit last season with Rashford not playing well and the right side being the right side despite AWB improving a lot.Yeah I’ve been wondering that. It’s a big question, but at the very least we won’t need to rely on totally jaded Bissaka the entire season. Competition and rotation are good thingsI'd have him ahead of AWB from the start personally so I hope we get him.
His Dad lives near me and is a big United fan, he thinks that this is going to happen.
