Yep, he has the time to fish around for a new phone contract while at the Euros, looool.
I think he backs himself to take the starting spot. This is a signing that allows him to come back home to Manchester.
Trippier got into the England squad ahead of AWB at rightback (and for at least one game, ahead of Shaw at leftback). There's a very good chance he'd force himself into the starting XI pretty soon.
He gets in the England team at right & left back over AWB & Shaw. I think he’d fancy himself to start.
He’s Mancunian anyway. I don’t know if he has kids but bringing them up at home could be a factor?
Imagine if Ole is getting Tripper to make sure AWB has a better chance to get an England call up.
Having my doubts on this one. If Trippier doesn't hand in a transfer request it won't happen as it's clear Atletico won't sell for anything below £25m which is excessive for a soon to be 31yr old

Transfer request doesn't mean anything it serves as much purpose as Player informing the Club he wants out verbally then it up to clubs to work out the fees .
I still don't get it Wan Bissaka's problem isn't that much in the final third he has improved in that regard but I don't give that much importance to goals and assists by fullbacks where I find him lacking is in his interplay ,passing with right weight and general hesitancy on the ball which actually hinders our general play and fluency he needs to get better in those areas if he intends to stay at United for long-term as starter.
While an extra RB is needed I wouldn't of called it one of the priorities this summer so I'm a little concerned that this is the one that's being spoken about in the media the most (after Sancho) and more than a CB or CM

Aye, it is a bit baffling. Maybe because the club viewed it as a simple deal to do, so we were just planning on getting it done and out of the way? Either way, I think if we ended up with just Sancho and Trippier it would massively underwhelming. I don't believe that will happen, but you never know.

He said one of the things he likes about Madrid is when he takes his kids to school and other dads should “vamos” at him.
So if you see him around Alderley Edge on the school run, you know what to do!
He is also a bit slow in supporting the attack. He is sometimes five yards behind where he is supposed to be.
Maybe the management also prescribes to the view held by some that Sancho needs the right kind of RB to excel and want to get ahead of the situation? Would be first time in many years we are thinking strategically but if its true it makes both the transfers doubly risky as any one of them can fail in the PL.

The CB one is the one that's causing me the most anxiety at the moment, CM I get as there are no real outstanding/affordable candidates and some would argue the same with CB but I can't deal with another season of the Lindelof and Maguire partnership

If Trippier comes he will be the starting RB. He's at a club who have just won their league. He will want assurances and I think the one thing he would want is to be a regular starter. He's 30 not 34/35
He’d be a canny addition to the squad. Will displace AWB I feel and will push the younger man to improve too. At a reasonable fee, I’d welcome Trippier. Everything about his footballing career screams of him having the sort of attitude which will see him do well at United.
See your point and agree. At the same time, I do think Sancho, Trippier and a CB would be great (given that we dont lose anyone).
If we got Trippier and a CB I would be a lot less worried about a DM. We would still need one, but with Trippier and a new CB we would be a lot more suited playing in a 343 (in some games). I think that would solve several of our issues;
- Fred/McT would be able to push higher, and be less restricted. That would suit both of them as neither is really «pure» DMs.
- We could probably play Bruno or Pogba next to Fred or McT with the defensive stability a back three would bring.
- It would help our transition and builup-play alot having one player out wide on either side that is really good in the build up. It would also make us a lot more difficult to press.
In short, we would still need a few more players next year, but three players would make us alot better and more enjoyable to watch.

So Trippier gets it then
If we sign Trippier for around the £20m mark and not much more, it would be good value for money. He comes with experience and was a part of a La Liga winning team. He gives us an upgrade in terms of depth at RB, with currently it being AWB and Williams (who I don't really rate), so the drop in quality is currently huge.
Whether Trippier ends up being a regular starting player or not, we at least know we have 2 decent RB's at our disposal. Trippier gives us the added option of playing 5 at the back, as AWB is currently not suited to that role IMO. Being able to rotate between AWB and Trippier throughout the season based on our opponent and preventing any sort of burnout and keeping each other on their toes is only a positive for me.

Price just dropped
The price for Trippier will be 100% less than 20m Euros.
That makes no sense. We spunked a record fee on AWB, he's still very much progressing, probably played the most minutes out of any outfield player in Europe last season (there was this infographic going round prior to Maguire getting injured that had them two ahead of the rest). There is no way we stifle his development for Trippier. If he comes, it'll be because he's relatively cheap, and he can ease the burden on AWB, provide some experience and a different tactical option.

Tripper gives us a more attacking option in games where we struggle against a low block. Competition for places didnt do Shaw any harm when Telles came in. Plus AWB played alot of football last season.

What about the succession of actual managers who have opted not to play him at centre back?
I'm firmly of the belief that everyone should be allowed an opinion, but the opinion that Wan-Bissaka could play centre back tests that belief.
Trippier will expect to play and like Cavani I doubt it'll take him long to prove himself better than the alternative
