Weird. We have Williams and Awb. Thought we'd be focusing on them. Or are we prepping for Pochettino? VDB also seems like an Alli type of player. I just don't get this link when we have 3 right backs and one promising youth

He had a torrid last season for Spurs. I'm not a Spurs fan but I remember him making me want to tear my hair out.
He's been very good for Atletico by all counts. Pleased for him personally. That said, he plays for one of the best coaches defensive wise in the world. I'm not convinced we would see the best of him under current management.

It doesn´t get the muppets salivating at all, but we have no option to AWB right now and we are suffering for it. There are of course other options out there but Kieran is a decent option IMO.

Trippier is a better RB than AWB in every aspect except slide-tackling, which he won’t need as much due to his better positioning anyway. Would really welcome this. Maybe swap AWB to Atleti?
A good squad player, will give much needed competition to AWB also.

yes but it's going to downhill for him, you very rarely get good full-backs playing well into their mid 30's. So it would be really short term signing to provide competition for Wan Bisska who has been one of our most consistent performers over the bast 18months.
It would just be a waste of money when other areas of pitch need money spent on them.

AWB is very limited, a club like United need more, if only we could combine the two then great. Best thing to do instead of having a very expensive but limited right back and getting in a soon to be 31 year old is buy properly first time.

Blimey, Evans wasn't and is still not, reliable enough to play for United.
Would be a good squad player, excellent going forwards, not sure how good he is defensively. Shame we didn't sign him a few years ago.

Tbf to AWB. He only suffered in our last game because it was a wing back role and for once he had no clue what he was doing. I wouldn't say he is a liability defensively
He has 18 months left on his deal and has a young family. I think it's probably more likely that they are homesick and want to return to England rather than a burning desire to play for us tbf. He's a huge upgrade on spider legs though to be honest.
We played 4 at the back against Sevilla and he had no clue what he was doing.
This post is so untrue it’s unreal. Atlético are my distant second team so I watch all their games except when we are playing simultaneously, and I can say three things:
1) Atletico are far from a narrow, defensive team. They are a counter-attacking one who use width very well with the likes of Lodi, Hermoso, Trippier, Lemar, Vitolo, Carrasco, Llorente etc to get crosses in to the strikers. Trippier is playing a prominent role in the team, and he is playing well up and down the right flank.
2) Trippier is quite a bit better than AWB. He has more technical ability in his little fingers than AWB, and is better defensively than AWB in everything aside from slide tackling. As i said in a prior post, he won’t even need that as much due to his superior defensive positioning. For one, he can actually win headers at the back post and mark the left winger.
3) Simeone is the coach most well-renowned across the world for world class defensive play in his teams. In fact, Atleti have only conceded 2 La Liga goals this season, of which Trippier has played a big part in. If he’s as bad as you say, why did Cholo buy him?
Also, the way you demean La Liga is just weird. Seriously, what is the proof for your arrogant belief that the Premier League is so much better than La Liga? All in all, Trippier had a bad 2018-19 season, and rediscovered his form in a league at a similar level to ours. Signing him will show ambition, not a lack of it, as we will be greatly upgrading a position, and at a probably relatively low price too.
Would welcome Trippier here.
Unless he has improved immensely in his time at Atletico, Trippier is just average.

Agree that AWB is poor at crossing and overlapping, so the issue is really why the feck does Ole not instruct him to stay back!!
Sure we would have known about this weakness when we forked out £50m for him, did Ole expect to improve this aspect of his game? How come it hasn't improved at all in 1.5 seasons?
Regardless of who's the better player, maybe they should play to their strengths. Bruno and Rashford are the only player that I can remember doing so.

He has improved, although not immensely. I’d say he’s at his 2018 World Cup form now, making him a decent RB who can attack and defend at a consistently 7/10 level. Better than average in that case. Still though, he is better than AWB imo. AWB is nothing more than a brilliant 1v1 defender who is poor at almost every other aspect of top level football.
Sorry not to disrespect sidebacks positions. But this is not the most important position of a team. That are the central spine position. A team can win the league with a Bissaka level of a right back. Same as Shaw as left back.
But if your CMs, CBs, G and CFs are 4 out 5 points. I think it hard to win the league.
From what i have observed. United need to strength the CB and CMs options. Special if
Pogba is leaving.
And about United current CBs options. I am not convinced they are good enough to win premier league.
If Bailly stay injury free. And if het get more composure with and without the ball. No rush and poor decisions. I still Bailly max potential and level are high. Bailly is really fast and is good one on one. He just need to know when to all in for a tackle, and know when to hold it back.
So back to Trippier and new side back. Personally for me. It’s not necessary. Because i am satisfy with United current RB options : Bissaka, Williams and Dalot out on loan. I would use that money for a new CM and RW.

He's been one of the best RBs in La Liga this season and we need some competition for AWB big time
