Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Napoli want 80m euros (bonus included). This is a fair price. Kvara is perfect for Amorin's system.

The obligatory YouTube vid:

The biggest concern with this guy is referees actually calling the fouls against him and not allowing it to be open season on him for foul play. If that happens, it will be highly entertaining watching him turn players inside out, if he plays for your club, of course.

As can be seen, he operates comfortably on the inside channels, seamless even. Not sure how many are better suited for that left-sided #10 role in Amorim's system.

People must surely be able to see why Liverpool would be trying for him as well; they're not doubting he can do it in the PL.

No doubt he's a good player but I just can't see us spending this kind of money anytime soon. All the rhetoric lately suggests that PSR won't allow it. It's more likely to be a lazy attempt to get PSG to part with more money.

Bit of a weird move mid season this one. You’d expect this to be a summer move. Why would Napoli want to lose their best player in January when fighting for the league.

It's weird but he isn't tearing up the league and there's been calls for him to be dropped for a couple months now

I wouldn't say having Amad and Bruno as AMs was 'stacked'

Hardly stacked.

Right now we essentially have three options for the two #10 positions in Bruno, Amad and Garnacho. And of those three one is already in his 30s, one is also our best wingback, and one was recently dropped for the local derby and hasn't started a game since.
Eriksen, Mount, Zirkzee.

Looks like he's heading to PSG which is a real shame, as he would be great for the PL. Wish we had the cash for him, but I guess even if we did, we have greater needs.

A lazy man's Hazard this one. I hope he does well here when he comes but I don't see the "IT" with him. Sorry!

Years of overspending and handing out silly contracts to average performers have finally caught up with us. Now we need to focus on finding unknown players and signing them at reasonable prices. Signing talents like Kvara and Florian Wirtz sounds like is a pipe dream for United at this stage. The rebuild under Amorim is going to be a slow and lengthy process. so grab your popcorn.

Just have to hold out hope that we just might make a run for him.

Not many players of his caliber in the world and even fewer available on the market, would be a shame to pass on.

Why would Liverpool want him. There more stacked than we are. Diaz, Gakpo, Jota who can all play on the left. If anything they need a right winger to cover Salah.
Because they are smart and realize it's better to take advantage of top level talent being available in attack, instead of just saying "oh our starters are good"

Most of their forwards are versatile anyways.

That transfer strategy of "buy him now and figure out where he fits in later" would not be considered as smart if United were doing it.

Are Liverpool's forwards really that versatile to be trusted to make way for Kvaratskhelia? We saw how anonymous Diaz was as a CF on Sunday - surely that isn't his long-term position? Gakpo is predominately a LW as well isn't he?

He is the kind of a player who will get the fans out of the seats..... Brilliant player.

He is the kind of a player you have to go for no matter your other priorities as he is too good and not often available at such a price ( even if it's 80m €)

Getting a 6 point deduction for a player such as him is worth it.

What is this... is it modern? I don't know this game anymore. Inverted, Outverted, Introverted...
In all likelihood this term is older than you are. It originates from old front five formations where the pitch is split into 5 "channels" horizontally. Center forward plays through the center, wingers occupy spaces near the touchline (in fact they were not called wingers at the time but an outside right/left respectively) and then more or less attacking midfielders that play in the channels between wide ones and the central one were called inside forwards.

Outside Left - Inside Left - Central - Inside Right - Outside Right

Since many contemporary formations more or less copy that offensive structure on the ball, the inside/outside terminology made a comeback.

We’ve spent enough since Fergies retirement to build 2 or even 3 title/champions league winning teams, now we’re struggling to spend a penny without selling, the mismanagement will be taught in business schools on how not to run a sports business. The only upside is the Glazers hopefully see that they’ve milked it as much as they can, now there needs to be a rebuild but also a new stadium, facilities etc and just sell the club completely.

Two footed, brilliant ball carrier and dribbler, good crosser, passer and dribbling hasn’t ever been about pure pace but technical level instead.

I don’t see anything in his game that isn’t at least as good as Amad’s if not better so no reason to believe he can’t operate in a forward position like that too (especially as he also has literally played in a 3-4-2-1 formation at Napoli this season in that SS/No10/Wing position (again it’s a flexible role).

Look into his profile more and you’ll see.
I have watched a lot of him and, must admit, do not see some of what you see.

You are 100% highlighting his dribbling and ball-carrying. He is very technical, but

1. Dribblers and technical players have traditionally not necessarily been successful in England. Those are qualities fit for more open leagues, like Italy, Germany, France etc.
2. I am not certain he has high footballing IQ. He certainly has skills, but his vision of the field and decision-making is entirely different matter. Maybe he does, but I have not seen it
3. He has never played in a fast-paced league like EPL, he has never played in high-performing 3-4-4 formation. It's a pretty huge risk to bet on him successfully adapting, considering he is very expensive player and could be huge loss if he fails to adapt. I also have concerns about his consistency - something crucial for us

I never really saw the same tools in Sanchos game in terms of close control and dribbling for playing through a low block. That said, I wonder if Sancho would have looked better in Amorims system with wide WBs spacing out their back line.

Khvicha looked to be one of the standouts in the euros. Will be gutted if the scousers get him.

Could be a very useful addition on the left (which we need), but can’t see us signing him if Liverpool are already interested.

Psg offer is 45 m euros.
And Napoli lowered the request from 80 to 70 m.
I think 60-65m euros and you can buy Kvara. A bargain.

Yet again...Does there have to be credible links to Manchester United for a player to be posted in this thread?

No doubting the quality is there for him but I just can’t help but think he’s the wrong fit for us right now and not where we need to be spending £50m-£70m.

IMO the profile of player we need to be adding to our first XI has to include pace, power and stamina on top of everything else.

And only one of them is a natural 10. Amad can play the position nicely though. Don’t get why we’d be going for wingers to play the 10 role? We’ve seen it doesn’t work with Rashford and Garnacho.
Amorim seems to want players in that role that kind of blur the line between wingers and #10. It's why Amad suits that role, while Rashford and Garnacho don't (not enough of a #10) and there are question marks over Bruno as well (doesn't bring the dribbling and running power of a winger).

I haven't watched anywhere near enough of Kvara to say for sure if he'd suit it, but the little I have seen makes me think he would. I am curious what his workrate is like in a defensive sense though.

The talk about his stamina issues are worrisome (not that we seem to be in serious contention)
