Kewell for Utd?

I don't discredit Giggs in any way. But, one has to accept that Kewell is a player with trickery and the ability to take players on the dribble not exactly like Giggs, but, very much like Pires. A young player and tremendously talented. I would say Kewell is also a better finisher than Giggs is and, in my opinion, a better crosser of the ball too. All in all, I love Ryan Giggs like hell, but, going on to say that Kewell would not do us good does not stand!

Did you see his attempted finish against the Scousers? If he'd had been any nearer the goal he'd had been in it! Though I do appreciate that Giggs is hardly Van Basten. I agree Kewell is a cut above the average player and I agree that he could do a job for united, but only as cover for Giggs for the time being and I can't see him wanting to play that role for us.

Perhaps you are right. But, if he does want to come, I would not complain at all. Giggs is surely slowly getting into a decline phase in his career, agewise and being Harry Kewell, I would not leave the opportunity to move to United. He will make the left side of midfield his own by the season after the next, surely.

I'd also like us to keep Giggs, he has still alot to offer. I'd prefer us to just add a younger less established player to cover Giggs and ideally one good enough to eventually replace him. Quaresma(19) from Sporting has been linked to United he would cost 10mil; he is considered a talent on a par with Figo, he's breaking into the portugese national team, he's versatile; RW, LW. -sounds perfect. There is more continuity in this approach, rather than swapping in a direct replacement.
Having said all that if a big offer comes, and with Giggys' value dropping sharply in the next few seasons its quite possible he could go.
