Glazer puts three more of his children on Manchester United's board

Malcolm Glazer, the controversial US sports tycoon who spent £790m to buy Manchester United last year, will soon be able to hold the club's board meetings sitting round the poolside at his luxurious Florida home.
Glazer has just appointed three more of his offspring as directors of Manchester United. Kevin, 44, Edward, 36, and Darcie, who will be 38 on Thursday, join Bryan, Avi and Joel as non-executive directors of the club. The move will see all six of Malcolm Glazer's children take an active role in managing the fortunes of the club, the most valuable sports franchise in the world.
The appointments were made public yesterday when regulatory documents were filed at Companies House. Kevin and Edward both use the word "businessman" to describe their occupation, while Darcie is described as a "businesswoman". It is believed that they already play a role in running the Glazer family business interests.
A spokesman for Man United said they would not be paid for their new roles and would not be involved in the day-to-day running of the club. "The move reflects common practice. All Glazer family members are involved in all the family's business interests," he said.
It is understood that Kevin and Darcie have yet to attend a Man United game.
Darcie Glazer's appointment means she becomes one of the few women ever to take a top management role at a football club. Others include Karen Brady, the managing director of Birmingham FC, and Delia Smith, the doyenne of TV chefs, who owns a 58 per cent stake in Norwich City FC.
The Glazers have taken a low profile since buying Man United just over a year ago. They have suffered constant abuse from many of the club's fans who feel that Glazer's ownership is bad for Man United. They are particularly worried at the £649m of debt Glazer used to fund his takeover of the club. All the club's assets, including its ground and players, such as Wayne Rooney, have been used as security on the loans.
Nearly 4,000 fans boycotted Man United following Glazer's takeover and formed FC United, their own breakaway club.
Malcolm Glazer's direct involvement in running Man United came to an end in April, when he suffered a stroke that impaired his speech and movement.
