Remember the career threatening, horrific, disturbing challenge he got against some team on New Years Day? He was back two days later.

Agree with this. I'm a United fan more than I am a football fan. Not happy he's injured, per se. But if he missed a United match I would be happy he isn't playing. Couldn't give a toss if he's missing games against other teams.
Never wish an injury on any player but I'm glad Manchester City won't have him available. I don't give a feck about the quality of the PL, like the PL would lose its credibility when Kevin bloody De Bruyne gets injured for a few weeks

If we were locked in a title match with City I'd be delighted if he missed other games too. The more the better! I'd get a bit conflicted about taking pleasure in a season ender, mind you. That would feel a bit mean. And I wouldn't wish a career-ending injury on anyone, ever. Or even a potential career-ender, like we saw with Smith, Ramsey and Shaw. Even a complete prick like Michael Brown doesn't deserve that.
People get so bizarrely precious about relatively minor injuries IMO. What are they worried about? In case he feels a bit sad? Well then, why would you ever hope for City to lose?!?
Fair enough. I suppose I'd be happy in a way, but it would be more "oh that's a bonus" as opposed to hoping he isn't playing if you get me?
Yeah I don't really understand either, obviously it would be awful for him if it's a career affecting injury, but if he's just out for a couple of months I'm not sure what the deal is. Players have been getting injured since football started, losing a good player for a couple of months means absolutely nothing.
Injuries are part of football, in fact its part of all sports, so if a key player is injured that definitely is an advantage to the rivals and other teams. So as a fan I am not pleased that a player is in pain or hurt, but I am happy that my team will get an advantage over the team that has an injured player.
Defence will always be weak with Klopp’s high line and constant attack. Leaves them exposed at the back. Is Allison really that great? Maybe an improvement from Karius/Mignolet which isn’t difficult but he is still over rated and is no De Gea to keep them in many games.
The attack is great but Salah won’t have a repeat of last season.
Well, I don't burn effigies or anything or harass their loved ones with letters of glee, nor do I dance around in celebration as If a goal were scored, I don't. However, if I open a news article, and I learn from it that a rival player pulled a hamstring or something, I'd lie if I said I felt distraught on behalf of football, the beautiful game.
Somehow I don't think that quite qualifies me as vile.
I think I'm the same - not actively wishing an injury, but if an oppo star does miss a few games and it costs them points, then that's an outcome few would moan at.

Oh give over, I’ve been to hundreds of matches and caused no trouble at all! I’m aware it’s a sport but Its also the sport I’m most passionate about and that makes Manchester Utd a huge part of my life. I build my weeks around Utd and the result and performance does affect my mood for the rest of the week. Does that make me sad, probably but frankly I don’t care. I think everyone should have something that they are incredibly passionate about.
I have personally played football for years and on top of that I have had 3 serious knee injuries requiring repair and I’m serverly limited in what I can do these days so I know all about career ending injuries. I’m not wishing him that fate but Christ one season out of many will do him no harm. Also no matter how you want to spin it the fact he’s earning 250k a week probably makes life just that little bit easier. The fact is rival injuries help Utd and therefore in term benefit me. That’s life!

Bit off topic but most doctors never take the Hippocratic Oath. It’s not really a thing any more. Not to mention it’s got feck all to do with how upset we should feel about millionaire footballers having a sore leg for a few weeks/months.

This buildup to this season has a 13/14 vibe to it where we were willing City on out of sheer disgust at the idea of Liverpool winning the league. Too early for that of course but either way I hope KDB helps them twat Liverpool regardless since that's fun in any scenario.

I hope De Bruyne becomes a billionaire, has a long happy life and develops a cure for cancer but never plays football again this season. Hopefully the positive aspects of this post outweighs the negative.
Hope KDB's recovery is delayed a few days by stepping on an upturned plug, causing only mild discomfort however.
I noticed that after reading fifteen posts of moral philosophy on wether you should feel sorry for or happy about DeBruynes predicament, I was disappointed in my gut when I found out he’s out for a couple of months not a season ...Still don’t hope for anyone to get injured though. Feelings and wishes are not the same currency or current.
I swear some of you lot are so nervous about everything you need to seek help!

The Liverpool circle-jerk is nauseating on here, Liverpool were near the top of table around December 2 seasons back and they only ended up scraping fourth. They have improved a lot but there is an awful long way to go (37 games left you cnuts). Also, don't understand why everyone is expecting us to go backwards. We're weak in certain areas such as right wing and left back but so are Liverpool. Dejan Lovren is still going to play at the heart of their defence lest we forget.
Seriously I really do think some posters must be afraid of the dark.
We are one game into the season and hordes of posters are terrified that KDBs injury means Liverpool will win the league. I can't stop laughing. It's bizarre.

Liverpool finished 25 points off the pace last season, even if City are unlikely to touch that record tally again this year it's still going to be in 90s. People keep talking about how van Dijk has completely transformed them, while I don't deny he has improved them I don't see what he's done that made him the best CB in the league over the course of summer? Was there a huge discrepancy between their points tally in 1st half of last season and 2nd half?
Again you're projecting what he's thinking, it is bizarre the team which finished closest to City and ahead of mighty Liverpool last season is not being given a chance to win the league in case City stumble and team behind them is.
Also, I don't need to say anything about Liverpool fans. When have they not thought they aren't going to win the league before season starts?
There is an awful long way to go yet, people think one KDB injury will derail them but look at their squad. They had no trouble swatting aside Chelsea and Arsenal in space of a week, look at their fixtures for next 2 months. They are hardly going to concede a lot of ground. We can start panicking if Liverpool are ahead of the pack in February/March, not in fecking August!

It's truly bizarre, United fans here are more confident of Liverpool winning the league than Liverpool ones. KDB injury and Liverpool is suddenly a favorite for the league.
I hope he'll recover and be back in let's say 6 months.
