<a href="http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,3-2002181556,00.html" target="_blank">Keano</a> is back and there's no stopping us from the Champs League!!

<img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

The man is a god amongst mere mortals.

Now the selection headache.

Midfield???

No dropping of Butt now. <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

I wouldn't start him anyway, hopefully having him on the bench will inspire our boys but starting him may be risky on two fronts, 1) Re-aggrivating his hammy & 2) picking up a yellow and missing the away leg where I think he is essential.

Good news that he's back already though <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

¿¿¿Sources??? Its very well you write that but I want proof! If he were back don't you think that it would be all over the papers, newsources etc?

Oh the SUN is not a source! There were no quotes, looks like TOTAL BULLSHIT!

OH, and I hope you prove me wrong! <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> If Keano is back we'll win everything!

Keano is a legend but we can be victorious without him (remember 99?), Nicky Butt is the key man imo.

'Keane is back and COULD be on the bench tomorrow', said the Sun... So basically they've said nothing as rumours of Keane's availability for the second leg already surfaced - so if he can start in a week he can be on tbe bench tomorrow.

No big deal, no big truth either.

It`s great news and increasing our chances, though united can win without him against good teams as they proved in the last games.
But I just hope he doesn`t pick up a yellow card in the return leg. Another final missing through suspension would broke his heart. :(

Barthez
Neville
Blanc
Brown
Silvestre
Ole
Butt
Veron
Scholes
Giggs
Ruud

That's tomorrow's team. The return leg will see Keane in and Ole out.

You heard it here first. ;)

Okay, so this source is no better than the last, but still, let's be cheerful!

Livvie, what position have you got Ole playing there? Do you think that Ole is best deployed as an out and out striker, with Giggs and Scholes taking the flanks, or like they were deployed at the weekend (bearing in mind though that Fortune is now out)?

Ole wide right as he was at the weekend, with Giggs supporting RVN.

I prefer Ole as a striker, but it's not up to me.

sounds to me like pure tabloid trash created to sell papers, nothing more! He is on his way back alright and the second leg *may* be a possibility but seriously, there is no chance he'll be on the bench tomorrow - none!

If we are in dire straits for the second leg then maybe, just maybe, he'll play but I don't think he'll be fit by then anyway! The worst thing we could do is rush him back and see him break down with an even worse injury!

yes yes, you can always rely on me to throw cold water on all the optimism! ;)

Who on the left, Scholes? I don't like the look of that team to be honest - no real wingers on either side. If we were going to dispense with wingers then I'd go 4-3-3 with Giggs in the hole and Butt Veron Scholes as the 3 midfielders. But Bayer exploit the wings so I think that kind of formation would be suicidal. I'd go Giggs Butt Veron Scholes with Scholes helping out Gary in stifling Ze Roberto. Its a home game in which we need to score a lot of goals so I think we need both strikers in their favoured positions.

I agree. I just don't think Fergie will. Being tactically inept like. ;)

Last time Roy had such a injury, he was back much quicker then expected. And if he doesn't make this game, will get him back in Leverkusen. And surely to pick up THE CL Trophy in Glascow.

I know. That could so nearly have been an OG on Saturday. Bless him....

<img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

And Blanc might score another own goal, or dip his head instead of clearing the ball. I'm glad Keano's not playing too, after all he scored a terrible own goal in a crucial European match.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm there.

Wes is still young and inexperienced. That entitles us to be nervous.

Just a shade of sarcasm maybe ;)
Blanc is old and slow, should we be nervous about that? Fact is they are both quality, you've got to forget their age and preconceptions of what a defender should be, and see if they can do their job, and how they compare to other players. Blanc has the best reading of the game of any defender, Brown is strong, intelligent, good tackler, tall and good in the air, and very good for his age and experience. No need to be any extra nervous about him than say Gary or Micky, who both have made a lot of individual mistakes this season, but who are judged on the basis of an entire season and found to be very good. Poor Wes has barely had a season.

christ I'm getting flashbacks to the 3:2 defeat to Deportivo with Brown and Barthez's antics! imagine if something like that happened tomorrow, all our great work in getting this far ruined by stupid defensive errors?? <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

just being pessimistic here, Brown played great against Chelsea and I'm sure he will do fine tomorrow....

I'm more concerned about our midfield. I hope that Seba and Fortune are 100%, otherwise we may have to bring Stewart into the mix if Giggsy is going to play up front with Ruud.

is Fortune definetly out for wednesday? any news on him?

It is difficult to say if we should deploy Ole up front in this match because Giggs behind RVN has worked so well in the last matches. But then again it would be unfair to leave Ole out considering his current form...

We are playing 4-5-1 i think.Fortune-Giggs-Butt-Scholes-Veron

There's not been any news on Fortune - I thought it was his hamstring, but maybe no news is good news.

Unfair. And possibly stupid.

Changed my mind.

Maybe Phil Neville should play. With away goals being so important, it might make more sense to approach this tie as an away leg, then go for it in Germany.

Yes or no?

No, i don't like they idea of going to Leverkusen with a one-nil lead.. i'd rather we win 3-1 or 4-2.

But we can still score goals with that team. It would just be a mite stronger defensively.

yes but you asked if we should approach this as an away or home leg... Its not our style to play defensive at home...i hope we attack attack attack...which means it should be played like a home tie. ;)

You have to take into account our home record this year - it's lost us the league (probably). We don't want them to score an away goal at all. Even if we score 4, which isn't likely.

I don't think so, we should really get going tomorrow night from the first minute, I don't think they can stand the pressure if united are attacking big time. we shouldn't leave it up to the game in germany and I am sure an offensive united side is what Leverkusen is most affraid of....

3:1 or 2:0 at home, and we will score in germany

;)

Those with little faith (Livvie included)...

Give Wes a game.

we're capable of scoring away..anyhow,they'll give us chances at the Bay Arena(?) i think Liverpool had three great opportunites to score, which would've settled the tie in their favour...

i hope we don't play that defensive patient stuff tommorrow, i read some where that Giggs reckons we have to be attack minded..which is the correct mentality to have as it suits our style.....

BTW i'd take 4-1. ;)

You're probably all right.

I'm just a wuss/scaredy-cat.

For those of you needing additional sources to convince yourself of the astonishing news.
The man is indeed a god, what powers of recovery. I am so pleased that he will be able to take part in the final in Glasgow, after 99 no one could be that unlucky all over again.
God Bless Roy Keane <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />
