Benzema is the more intelligent player, better passer, better general technique.
Better general technique I'll give you. Benzema is probably better on the ball.

Don't know what else you need to see from Costa for you to be convinced. Scored 36 goals for the title winning side last season and scored 20 in his first season in a new league this year. Was also injured much of the year and missed a bunch of games due to suspension.
Could've just said 20 goals in 24 appearances. :)

Like I said, he's a very good player. I don't think I'm under rating him. Think everyone else is overrating him is all.

Name what Benzema does better than Costa.

Let's do it the other way around. Costa is a better finisher and stronger. Benz beats him in pretty much every other department.

It was 26 appreances, and 0 goals in 5 UCL appreances although injury accounted for some of that as well as missing sitters

Looks like lazy journalism to me, didn't he sign a new contract this season?

3-4 years too late. He's going to turn 28. Let's get some younger strikers in, please.

What? It's all when and good getting giddy over new strikers but we can't stockpile on them, unless we switch back to a two striker formation, which is unlikely. Rooney could play as the #10 but we aren't playing that system either.

We didn't score enough goals this season, one of our strikers has gone, another looks a shadow of his former self, we need another striker.

I suppose stuff like this could be a possibility because of DeGea, i doubt we would have a chance of him otherwise.

Would have liked a younger alternative, but Benzema is perfect for United at £30-35m. Worried about his lack of pace/strength though.

He is actually a powerful player, at least Vidic thought so.

The Benzema that caused grief for Rio and Vidic away in Lyon all those years ago was primed for Premier League football.

I thought he deserves his own thread in the transfer forum now that he's linked with us by Jamie Jackson

Can't see Real letting him go though.

A striker who's good enough to make a difference at the business end of any competition. Not perfect, and a shade older than ideal, but depending on who else we buy his experience could be valuable.

What to do with Wayne Rooney? Make him earn his spot in the starting 11. He's not indispensable at all like many on here seem to suggest.

So we shouldn't buy any good strikers because we have Wayne Rooney?

Pretty much I'd say. Unless we're planning on changing system again, having Rooney is somewhat problematic if you want to sign another top forward. Rooney is on big wages and our captain so is likely to play all the time. We either change formation or have Rooney out of position. Benzema wouldn't want to come here to 'rotate'.

My captain shall always play

He is even better now.

He really is built for the prem though. Good speed, strength and great technique.

Best we could get. Guaranteed 20+ league goals. One of the most complete number 9's right now. And as said his strenght is definitely not an issue.

Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema emerges as target for Manchester United

The article suggests Benezema is being monitored by LVG as a possible option to our striking problems. Uncertainty at Real Madrid due to managerial change. Benezema valued at £40m according to Jamie Jackson of the Guardian, who has never given the impression he knows much about football and this article sure doesn't change that view.

I wasnt convinced back in the previous Benzema sagas but at the moment he would be perfect for us.

I dont think he is entirely unobtainable either - he doesnt have the same galactico rating as Ronaldo, Bale and Rodriguez. Selling Benzema would also give Real an excuse (not that they normally need one) to go after Aguero.

If there is a chance of us getting him then I would make it a priority, along with a new RB.

cheers

Rather take a chance with Kane. Plus Perez loves him more than Bale.
