Feels like he's from the Doku/Saint Maximin school of looking dangerous and having his fullback on toast all game without actually producing anything from it.
That weird combination of having the speed and the skill to absolutely cook most defenders he'd come across, whilst at the same time looking absolutely shite infront of goal
He should by now be talked about in Vinicius terms but he's had terrible luck with injuries since signing for Southampton which has held him back. Only thing missing from his game is the final ball as was on display tonight.

I’d agree given that record!3 goals in 57 for Southampton isn't great. That includes a season in the Championship.
We really don't need more players with lacking end product. He'll be 23 in a month. Don't think we should expect big step changes in ability.
Possibly but he's also an out and out winger which doesn't really suite Amorim's style. Unless he's converted into a LWB or a #9 somehow.Should we try and sign him, definitely reckon Ruben's coaching could help with his end product
It's what I was thinking during the game. Typical case where he made Yoro look like a fool, and Yoro will go on to be a top level CB, whereas he won't do much.He won't have a better game then that for years

Those 57 apps have come in 3 seasons which tells you the lad has had a terrible time with injuries and fitness. I think the injuries have reduced his ceiling but the potential is still there and form is not linear. We've had injury prone players suddenly hit peak form in their later years and never looked back. He's 23 in age terms but has the football development/experience at this moment of a 19-20 year old due to how little he's played past few years.3 goals in 57 for Southampton isn't great. You have to admire our ability to make the mediocre look world class. He won't have a better game then that for years
