Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

So they just showed the interview. The question was something like: "Normally intensity is the name of your game, so how come it was lacking for you towards the end?". He instantly called it a dumb question, and went on about many games before walking off and saying "you're obviously not in the best shape"
I posted it on reddit but it got filtered out, let's see if it works here:

Pressure. Lack of respect. I get that you are angry for losing against ManUtd but behaving like that with that comment?

8 different titles in 8 years and people seeing him as greatest of the greatest. Maybe he does that to. Take a seat. Very good manager but need to calm down. There are lot of very good managers.

Having him as our manager for nine years, I’ve learned all about his behaviour and how he acts when we lose.

He hates it. Can’t handle it at all. He’s almost like a fan in that way, coming up with excuses and lashing out. Not sure I’ve ever seen him take a defeat graciously. Even when we’ve been stuffed.

Still going to miss him. By far and away the best manager I’ve seen at Liverpool. Not sure I’ll see a better one for a while.

The English press has given him a godlike status and a lot of leeway so he has gotten away with many things there but he lost it many times with BVB and the German press loved to anger him. It's really a missed chance he has some crazy eyes trades.

So much bitterness every single time. Yet another spiteful remark to a reporter just doing their job.

You would think with only one title and one CL and one FA Cup in 9 years, he would have gotten used to losing, but he lets himself down every time.

Let’s hope Arsenal and Leverkusen deal out more damage and his reign of terror (3 major trophies in 9 years) comes to an end.

Poor Jürgen, he was laughing like a drain throughout the match. I don't think he saw this panning out the way it did.

I have maintained throughout the Klopp love in that if he managed us instead of them the press would be posting effigies on their covers.

There’s no such thing as a good loser but he’s genuinely disgusting in the way he handles things at times & it doesn’t get called out anywhere near enough.

The BBC football podcast today had his interview with them - said you could only agree with his assessment, that his analysis post game was always excellent and it was impossible to disagree with him and that they were the better footballing side yesterday.

Ten Hag's post match interview wasn't put in the podcast.

Ashamed of nothing, offended by everything. No wonder liverpool fans love him so much.

Said it before but Ferguson would have had a field day with him. Don't think he'd have lasted this long if Ferguson was still around on the managerial scene. Fergie would have cracked him a la Rafa

But... but Fergie never got 97 points like Klopp did!
Something that is always missed with this point is that getting to this points total was not unique. City also did, which only suggests that the league was far less competitive than previous years.

The funniest part for us who could find anything at all funny straight after the game yesterday, was the fact that he did so incredibly well for so long during the interview. After that rollercoaster of a game, leading twice, seemingly controlling the game andthen going down like that - and still he forced his face into a crumple of smiles, saying how Man Utd deserved to win, Man Utd are a great side, Man United played very well in the first half and extra time, Man United deserved to win, smile, crumple, smile - I was really impressed cause I thought he was going to explode at any time. And then he did :)

Agreed. Also when Fergie had the league title sealed by April, he wasn't arsed about points totals. He would play the kids and we'd lose at home to Derby County. Correct me I'm wrong, but no one cared about points totals until around 7-8 years ago. I never heard it being mentioned by football fans or the media.

I was thinking that too. :) You could see it in how he was oddly leaning against the wall, as if his feet could barely support him.

What's mostly missed with this point is that points totals don't matter.

You're 100% right - it never mattered to Fergie and I'm with him on that.

We were on course for 95 point seasons and he'd give reserve players, youth players, players leaving minutes...also, it was because we'd still have a CL final or something else important on the horizon.

Man I miss Fergie.

he’s a prick, but you’d love it to be your prick. like when your missus gets pregnant at the orgy.

He gets away with speaking to people like shite. Mourinho made this point over and over again. When it’s him he gets so much hate but when it’s Klopp or someone els it’s ok.

Absolutely. Also with city’s spending power now and Guardiola they’ve raised the bar. Still think it’s funny that a lot of people think them 2 are the biggest rivalry the prems seen when the scousers only have 1 PL. they’ve been dominated. The best rivalry still remains Fergie vs Wenger.

The reporter has said that it continued after the cameras stopped filming with Klopp yelling and screaming at him.

It's just bizarre how popular he is with the media despite being an absolute arse to them so often.

Here are some quotes from Niels Christian Frederiksen, the reporter, loosely translated by myself:

"I thought the situation was as crazy as the game we had just witnessed. When you are in it, you are quite surprised that he gets so upset. But once you distance yourself from it you think 'What the hell, that's why he is a top manager'. He hates to lose, especially to the arch rival. That's the context I see it in. He is upset that he lost, and then he goes crazy over a question he thought was stupid. Fair enough."
On whether they talked after the cameras were turned off:
"No, he was very upset. He just thought I was stupid. There were a lot of journalists gathered, and they were pressed against the wall. They were quite shocked."
On whether it has changed his view on Klopp:
"I don't hold any grudges. I have the deepest admiration for him. This changes nothing."

 Damm these last two days have been brutal. It’s like 15 years of pent up frustration coming out in 2days. This sport.

Fair play for taking it like a champ, a slightly tipsy me may have stepped over the line.
