Was it anything else in terms of the number of high energy games played?
Diaz 1 goal in 4
Gakpo 1 goal in 4
Nunez 1 goal in 3.
Jota 1 goal in 4.
Its a huge downgrade on Mane,Firmino and peak Salah. As we speak Klopp is probably trying to get rid of Nunez and buy another attacker.

Top 5 is all that will be needed next year for Liverpool/Spurs/Chelsea to get back into the Champions League.
That's a bit of a simplistic way to look at it. First, Salah has just matched his goal output from the two previous seasons, and he's done better than 18/19 and 19/20. Second, Firmino was also a 1 goal in 3 player for Liverpool, but did a lot more than that - Gakpo could be similar. Third, Gakpo and Nunez numbers are a bit skewed by only being measured in a crap season for Liverpool.
I do agree that their forward line is not at the level of when Mane, Salah and Firmino were all together and at their best, but it's still good enough to get back to comfortably get back to top four, if they sort out the midfield.
Gakpo is putting up similar numbers to what he did in Holland.
Diaz is doing the same thing he has done all his career. 1 goal every 4 games. At 26.5 years old he is hardly likely to improve that dramatically.
Nunez has been dropped a lot the last few months. He has been a terrible signing.
Salah is still a force no doubt. Without him they would in big trouble. But how long more will he be able to keep up the high numbers? Its rare for a wide forward to be able to keep it going in their 30s in the PL.

Glad prick will finish the season with 69 points for 2nd time in last three seasons. No doubt Liverpool will be back next season so we should enjoy some more until then
Professional athletes aren't knackered after a long summer holiday of rest. It's more likely they mentally weren't up for the fight after such a disappointing end to the season

I’m glad we didn’t sign Nunez. If we had done that, Harry Kane to us this summer would have been much much harder. Funny thing is Liverpool snatched him from our grasp because of our dismal performance last season.

You were never close in any of the competitions you participated this year.
Klopp has done great things at Liverpool. Wonn the league, came a very close second twice and won one champions league too. He’s the best they’ve had for decades. Unfortunately for him liverpool have a weak spine. With those forwards they’ll always score plenty goals. It’s not just midfield, it’s his defence that need serious work. He needs two years to rebuild.
The Liverpool fans can’t see this and think it’s a blip. Therefore by Christmas they’ll be screaming for his head and want to sack the best manager they’ve had for a long long time. He’ll be gone next January.

When United won the treble in an era of great clubs across Europe, strong teams in England and hard routes to fa and champions league finals, the following 2 years we won the league.
Tiredness is an excuse. The biggest problems are your midfield, Mane being replaced with a striker that misses sitters, a RB that's been exposed all season, VVD losing a yard and Klopps inability to adapt to the situation throughout the majority of the season.
Allison and Salah, your 2 genuine world class players is the only reason your 5th rather than next to Chelsea.
If you think 2 or 3 new players is all it takes I think your fooling yourself.
They didn't spend much last summer and got in just Nunez & Melo to boost their first team while losing Mane. Their owners must have looked at the quadruple effort and thought they don't need to invest in players. Glad they have that group as owners. Investing 200-300m in 4-5 players will get them back into top 4, but the top 4 is going to spend to improve as well.

There won't be a lot of spare cash floating around for them to spend £200m plus unless there's a major player leaving for big money.
And as you say, the top four will be strengthening also, it will be difficult for them to progress.
Losing 4 or 5 players on free transfers won’t help their net spend either.
That's some impressive projecting from yourself. Ten Hag has got us top 4 and a trophy in his first season, all without a fit centre forward for most of the campaign. If he masterminds another win vs City at the weekend then it will have taken him less than a year to win the same amount of trophies as Klopp managed in his first 5 years at Liverpool. Good luck finding anyone calling for him to be sacked.

They were a point off top in EPL. Lost by a single goal in CL and won both domestic finals vs Chelsea on penalties. They played 63 games out of a possible 63 games.
Similarly we have played 63 games this season and have often heard about the number of games we’ve had to play.
Arguably when chasing the CL and competing until the final day for EPL does make make it a mammoth effort with every game high stakes.
