Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

They seem tired and lack confidence. Also need a centre-back or two. Hopefully teams will start showing them less respect now, mainly at Anfield.

But we’d basically won the league before it all started going into lockdown. We didn’t even have to kick another ball in the end because of City dropping points.

This is the * season.

“Basically” but not quite eh

City were playing on the back of a break of several months and would have been psychologically effected, as would have all teams.

The actual rules themselves had changed - more subs, breaks etc, and let’s not forget the impact of having no fans in the ground.

Big fat asterisk la.

I think that 3rd finish is the season Keano publicly critized almost every player on pitch after a lost when he was out injured and SAF eventually resolved the toxic situation so that Keano left the club in the mid of the season, right?
No it was the season we let go of Stam after his fall out with Sir Alex. We signed a washed up Blanc as his short term replacement.
Rio was signed the following season and we were back on top.

@PickledRed

Haven't seen this guy in a long while.
Read every day. Didn’t post when Liverpool were top over Christmas either. Barely posted since winning the league.

A certain poster - after a few years of telling me Liverpool weren’t that good - started to meltdown when I enjoyed the fact Liverpool won the league. He asked me to stop posting so I did.

I guess some folk really struggle with the fact a rival will do well at times. Terrible sort.

Now there is talk of a * next to this title whoever wins it,

You love to see it. Feels like it 9 years ago where people were rattled and the media pundits are mostly livid about us having the cheek to he anywhere near the action.

Ya love to see it

Funny that happens when Liverpool drop further away isn’t it.

Its amazing how important Jota has become as a brand new signing into their existing front 3. Think he will make a big difference when he returns. Hes basically played the same team give or take for almost 3 seasons and they all look out of it now. If your playing his balls to wall pressing need to be refreshing players a lot more often.

This season should be with a *.

Now I heard it all.

I bet if Liverpools form will dip even further we'll start to hear about null and void.

I actually don’t care one bit if they want to put an asterisk next to our name if we were to win it. We’ve won enough premier leagues for it not to be a big deal.

Basically how I feel, really couldn’t care less, it’s a load of tripe anyway, us City and the others who started late are the ones who have had it the hardest anyway.

Us in the cup and then away at Spurs next Thursday it could get even worse for Klopp. Jose will be relishing this. They will now need to rush out an get a CB to be able to move Henderson and Fabinho in their midfield. They are not creative enough and are also missing Jota.

Retaining the title is very very difficult, many teams/managers underestimate what a mental task it is. Combine that with the signing of Tiago while a really good player he really doesn't fit their high energy attacking style (I know he hasn't played much but on the training ground it will also have an impact) & the injury to VVD & you have what you see now.

Oh & it's as funny as hell, yes. I was in hysterics last night.

It's hilarious.

Even the media pundits everyone putting out the point it's a crazy season as the reason Liverpool and city are not walking it again.

City seem to be in the mix, Liverpool look like us when Moyes was here, hitting cross after cross against Fulham.

I'm not sure who will win the title this season but it be one of the hardest in my eyes with no crowds and so many teams tightly packed together, all taking points of each other. It's been great.

People can stick a * beside it if they want but it won't matter at all to the club who wins it, it is just rattled people who are already getting the excuses in for their own team failing.

The irony is they would be another 4-6 points behind both us and City if we both had a pre-season and August off.

You know whoever wins it this year will have a bigger ‘*’ than last season right?

We could’ve stopped playing football after the first lockdown started and still would’ve been crowned champions.

This season you’ve got players missing due to COVID, fixture disruption, no fans then some fans in some stadiums then none at all, rule changes and match day squad size changes and the quick turn around between seasons.

If you do win it it’ll be 21*, if we do it’ll be 20*. Same for City, Leicester etc.
I can’t believe this nonsense still gets spouted, yeah just award the scouse the league even though it’s not mathematically done. Nice try.

And I see you’ve Started to cry about the star now that you’re looking a bit shit so other teams will also have the star
I absolutely love that Liverpool had to wait 30 years for a title and it came the year we had a pandemic and the season had to get shut down half way for the leaders to have a big rest and then start again with no fans:lol::lol: and the star’d season is already getting to their fans

Good point. He rescued quite a few points early season.

You stopped posting because a stranger on the internet asked you to?
I don’t know where scousers get this victim tag from

This is true. It means nothing.

Just checked and 4 of our next 5 league games include Spurs away, West Ham away, City at home and Leicester away. So unless something drastically changes that'll be us out of the title race by mid-February. Hopefully we make the switch soon enough, and don't have to fight until the end of the seson for a top 4 spot. Looking very likely right now though.

CL is our only route to a succesful season at the moment but Leipzig will be a hard task too if something doesn't change soon.

I'm wondering if the upcoming fixtures will suit them more. there will be more space to hit those long or diagonal balls. Less of a field between players meaning press becomes easier and could see them force more mistakes

I expect yous to do better against them teams unless they all decide to sit back.......could be samey samey.

Just look so devoid of ideas.

Did Klopp actually say that Burnley get a lot of penalties?

Don’t be silly this is knee jerk
You’ve had a bad spell in 4 games you’ll be nailed on top 4

although after klopp left Dortmund a reporter did say klopp burns his players out after a few years, so his tactics along with this seasons crazy schedule may be your downfall...if the ship isnt steadied when cl returns you’ll be in trouble

Shouldn't be ignored that City fell off a cliff last season after their 100mph seasons beforehand and injuries. Took a while but they're back now.

We've also reached that, it's not something exclusive to Klopp or his style. It will also take us a while to get back but we will still have the spine of our team and Klopp at the helm. Not all is lost as we can still channel what remains into the CL and maybe FA cup.

You're not wrong, the ever-increasing trials and tribulations facing football clubs this season have been difficult to bear. It will take a side full of mentally strong players to overcome those trials and finish top of the league, and the side that achieves that monumental feat deserves the utmost credit, I'm sure you will agree.

The gold standard of league titles they'll call it and they won't be wrong.

Your best option is to sack Klopp and hope for a new manager bounce.

And this doesnt affect Utd? In these testing times you dont have Utd players breaking covid protocols. Fully professional, focused on winning the toughest league title of all time.
All star manager having a meltdown over it, glorious Pep having to change his style to Jose lite to win a few games on the run while Ole is simply continuing what he implement a year ago.
Its not our fault others are insufficient at dealing with this where we have excelled

Yer very true
as much as it’s fun watching guys struggle during the 2000s it is good having the competition again.
Sadly you are too good to be ruled out of the race
City play these 4 in a row soon, good chance for to you make up ground.....and us to pull further away ;) ha
Burnely
You lot
Spurs
Arsenal

Wont the spine be ageing by the time you’re coming back?

Is this gonna be a thing? I bet it is. Unless City is gonna run away with it in the end, of course.

Except Greenwood, wasn't it? :D. alas, he was on national team duty.

Of course it’s a thing, we have to be better than the best team of all time who won the starred league last year, what a two year run that amazing team had fsirplay. Now we have to make stuff up to compete

This is the * season.

Not more than last season. Playing 75% and then having a 2 month "break" and then wrapping the last 25% up quickly is definitely more disruptive and weird than having a shorter pre-season and starting a little later than normal. Games are more congested now, but that just means that the players have to be a little tougher and more disciplined.

He’s only saying that now because the scouse don’t look certs to win the league. Scouse logic

Last night really was terrible from Liverpool.

Setting up to play against Burnley by just hoofing the ball long or getting it out wide and swinging in aimless shitty crosses over and over is just absolute madness. Burnley can deal with that sort of old fashioned 80s football all day long.

Liverpool played right into Burnley's hands.

The * season will ALWAYS be last season. The year that football was completely suspended mid-season and there was talk of writing the season off, restarting the season or awarding trophies to current leaders.

This season is normal service resumed, with only occasional games re-arranged, no talk of suspension, or write offs.

They've been doing it for months. You saw that graphic against the bottom 6 clubs or so. They only beat Sheff United and failed to beat the rest. I remember the Sheff United game, they didn't deserve to win that and were rather fortunate.

This is how I remember Liverpool, failing to beat average teams and battling for top 4 as a result.
