Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

One comment I always hated from Fergie was after the Bayern Munich match when he called them 'Typical Germans' for trying to get the ref to send Rafael off.

Regardless of the fact that there was only one German amongst the four who surrounded the ref (Schweinstiger amongst Van Bommel, Olic and Ribery), it was hypocritical for him to complain about that given how United, and pretty much every club, try to get players sent off by surrounding the ref.

If I used concrete examples I'd open a can of worms for supposedly attacking a manager you quite rightly hold in high esteem. That's a trap.

To spell it out for a final time: I used Ferguson as an analogy to contextualise how Liverpool fans feel about a successful manager saying silly things.

Maybe I could have used Solskjaer. Try to imagine how you'd feel about his numerous silly comments on reflection if he eventually led you to a Champions League and had you nailed on to win the first title in years. Who cares at that point? But I should caveat by saying that I'm not using that analogy because I believe Klopp also scored the winning goal in a Champions League final in the 1990s. I also don't think Klopp is Norwegian.

Klopp hasn't played in a Champions League Final, to be able to score in one.

(sorry)

Your original point is fine.

He did it a lot of the time. If you don't think Ferguson was bang at it, Im not sure what you've been watching or whatever.

My argument would be that Klopp is worse and it's more deliberately tactical or whatever the word/description is.

Hotseshit. Sir Alex would crucify players if they surrounded the ref. He tore into his players after that infamous Keane pic for example.

Klopp just whines and whines and whines.

He tried to blame uniteds injuries for liverpool not beating them one day, he blamed the wind another game and now he is blaming the coronavirus.

That lastest one is despicable.

To be fair, corona virus is the reason they aren't winning the title

I understand that all managers spout some nonesense but comparing Klopp in any capacity with SAF isn't going to work. 13 Premier league titles and 2 more to break the old firm stronghold Vs two Bundesliga titles. I mean, I know it wasnt a direct comparison but this is a United forum and any mention to drawing comparisons /similarities is going to get a bad reaction.

I hate talking against United but seriously the delusion of some people here just to talk nonsense about a rival.

But passion gets the better of players? Theres a huge difference between that and calling Sir Alex a hypocrite, especially when theres evidence he clamped down on that behaviour.
feck Ole took down an attacker as last man, got sent off and got a bollocking from Sir Alex over that and told to never do that again.
You can post anecdotal youtube videos all you want but you have no idea what he was like behind the scenes, all we have are the testimonies from the players themselves but go out of your way and call his character into question.
Have fun doing it.

Give a concrete example. I bet none of what Fergie said was as classless as 'taking an advantage' of a pandemic that is affecting hundreds of thousand of people's health worldwide, just so He could feel better about his team not progressing.

Maybe because you don't have any friends who are neutrals. That or you simply don't have any friends. Which is fine, understandable.

Yeah it's a pretty valid excuse.

Did he even call Ferguson a hypocrite? I thought that poster was just arguing your point about him crucifying player if they surround the ref? Not sure what game that is in the video but I think his point is that Ferguson did not crucify the omayetw for their reaction there- unless there is proof that he did?

Passion is all great but I'm not a fan of the reaction in that video. I love Vidic and he is one of my favorite players but there is no reason for any of those players to run at the referee like that- it feels like they were trying to influence the call.

mate he's dead right. of course we surrounded the ref. every team does and always will as long as it influences the next decision. the difference is Fergie would do the dark arts with a cheekiness and wry smile and then win with grace and move on. Klopp bounces around hugging everyone and flashing his teeth at the cameras and dials the bitterness up to 10 the minute he loses. fergie didn't go around like Mother Teresa.

Right. So now it's Klopp to Solskjaer. Keep comparing, at some point you will find a way to compare Mustafi to Ramos.

The corona virus is a valid excuse for Atletico madrid beating them in champions league?

Your having a laugh mate

I was replying to a poster about it being a excuse for not winning the league.

And there's plenty of testimony from players and managers about how genuine Klopp is in person but you would want to ignore all of that and call him a cnut right?

SAF was hypocritical about complaining of influencing the ref but that just makes him the same as other great managers who all from time to time come up with complaints and excuses which seem petty.

SAF is the greatest of all time but let's not make it seem as if he never showed some flaws.

What does this have to do with Klopp?

Fails to deliver a title...because of a worldwide pandemic. Nice try. ;)

The stats don't lie; 4 years in charge, £400 million+ spent in the transfer market, bottles kicked, fans abused, excuses made, but no holy grail.

His job should be in question at this point, global pandemic or otherwise.

Fergie came out with some shit at times but it was generally in the best interests of the club and team. Coolmore aside!
The shit Klopp gets up to is sheer ‘look at me‘ bollocks. “I’m a crazy bastard because I swear in press conferences and grin like a cnut.” fecking arsehole.

I feel bad for you trying to have a reasonable argument in support of a liverpool manager on a United forum (and that too against a legend like SAF). Its always going to be biased and most of us are just taking the piss. Cheers.

Also Klopp's lost it. His excuses are laughable.

The latest excuse is not just laughable its fecking disrespectful to the Atletico team. I would say I am surprised but first he blamed the way they played, then he blamed the fact that his players were worried about the coronavirus, then he complained the game was played at all.

Atleti beat the holders (both legs) and are through. If you ask them they'll tell you exactly where to shove that disrespect, laughing while at it. So yea I don't think they care as much as the guy who lost (hence the laughable lame excuses)

Difference is just class. Oh and shit load of trophies.

Still can't believe this match was played in a full stadium given the coronavirus outbreak. Though I don't think Liverpool have been affected worse than any other big city?

Why did Klopp steoretype a black player but not someone who looks like this?:

He got a bad first impression, big deal. You're now focusing on skin colour and looks. Just because he half explained by talking about the way Mane was dressed doesn't mean that's the full story. Not everything is racist.

Neville was dead to me but if he's living rent free in this hipster clown's head then he might just become alive again.

I didn't learn a lot in lockdown, other than Graeme Souness has an opinion about absolutely everything. It is incredible.

A bit rich of Klopp to complain about someone else having an opinion on seemingly everything; the evil bastard must be desperately missing all the attention and adulation we receives over here throughout the season.
