Easily as well. Villarreal needed a big win tonight to take there next week to have a decent chance; one goal won't be enough.Liverpool will do them at Anfeild.

I wish I shared your confidence.Easily as well. Villarreal needed a big win tonight to take there next week to have a decent chance; one goal won't be enough.
This being a United forum and Liverpool having lost tonight I think that this statistic shouldn't go unnoticed. I've played down his league form in this thread and it was met with backlash, not only from Liverpool supporters, and I feel this stat backs up my point about his league form being unimpressive this season. Most points dropped from winning positions in the league this season too (19). He's a genius though.
Really? At home, one game away from the final, with Klopp as your manager? Add to the mindset that you have a lead to overturn and I'd be very confident if I were a Liverpool fan; and I'm a pessimistic bastard at the best of times with UnitedI wish I shared your confidence.
Yeah you're probably right. I do think we can win next week although they're very good defensively. It's just the lack of an away goal that's bothering me, if they take the lead we'd have to score 3 goals and that isn't easy against a team like them.Really? I just can't see them living with a Klopp team at home in full flow, but lets hope I'm underestimating the Spaniards.Concede one and they need to score 3 against a pretty good defence. I think they are going out
Not to downplay Klopp or Liverpool, just saying Villarreal is good at disrupted rhythm. Barcelona and Real Madrid not always have good time against them. They have psychology advantage with the a win without conceding also. Dortmund didn't until their second goals, but Dortmund is more of control, counter attacking team than disrupting team. So this is very different scenario.I just can't see them living with a Klopp team at home in full flow, but lets hope I'm underestimating the Spaniards.
Basically since they put out Dortmund I've given up all hope that Liverpool won't win the competition and thus be in the Champions League next season, but as I said above, I'm a pessimistic bastard
A true mastermind in Europe. Will do well in CL next season after winning this EL.
Yea, going behind 3-1 and resulting to a gung-ho style which basically counts on your opponent making mistakes is some astute management.A true mastermind in Europe. Will do well in CL next season after winning this EL.
26 years. Bindipping cnutsHe's a genius when it comes to bringing the absolute best out of limited teams. No other manager in the game right now can match him in this aspect. It's eerily reminiscent of Fergie. To top it off, the players love him and seem to be willing to walk through fire to please him. He also proved that once he's reached the top, he knows how to stay there. Oh and I almost forgot: he's an advocate of actual entertaining football.
Feck Liverpool for getting him. They are 100% sure to be title contenders next season. They might not win it already then, but they'll be comfortably safe in the top 4, not far behind whoever is in the lead.

Ranieri?
You have to wonder how early we approached Klopp. I'm pretty sure we did at least a week prior to Rodgers getting the sack. Considering the alternative of sticking with Rodgers, I'm so glad that the club acted. I would never encourage the sacking of managers but sometimes it has to be done or you risk stagnating.Getting rid of Rodgers early on this season was obviously the right call. Probably should have brought in Klopp earlier but credit dye for not leaving to the point of no return. Shame our owners don't seem particularly interested in the sporting side of owning the team.
If there's a clearly better option available, and it was already in question, then you make the move. Can't help but wonder what might have been had we done the same in December when Mourinho was available and LVG was looking completely lost. You have to wonder how early we approached Klopp. I'm pretty sure we did at least a week prior to Rodgers getting the sack. I still think you will make that move. The press don't really have a clue when it comes to United from what I've seen and Mourinho's seemed confident for a while he's got something lined up. I was a Rodgers fan but after seeing us go out with a whimper against Villa at Wembley, concede 6 against Stoke, put in one of the most pathetic displays from any Liverpool side at Old Trafford and generally look like a side in a steep decline at the back end of his time as manager I was ready to see Rodgers go.Scousers and hindsight - its a religion! I'm sure this lot were all Dodgers fans or was it Kenny, or Benitez et al. Good thing there were all those changes to prevent stagnation...

Fans are allowed to change their minds. I bet you thought Van Gaal was great during the 2014 pre-season.
Agreed, I think so too. But we could very easily have had secured a CL spot by now. Or be the ones planning for an EL final. For me, it's symbolic of larger issues at the top like greed, egotism and ineptitude which are hampering us.I still think you will make that move. Didn't you put seven past someone in his first pre-season game in charge? The good old days

Fair enough, I guess you're pretty sick of him by now!Never once supported LVG, in two years of watching Bayern and his time at Holland confirmed my dislike. My record of dislike for him predates my joining here and included being being vilified by the RoM forum from day one for not liking him. My first anti-LVG post was 20 July 2014 and led to being sacked for referring to him as a cnut in January last year. As far as i am concerned nothing has changed, and my record of criticism is solid here.
My post wasn't about changing minds it was your comment of changing managers and stagnation, a somewhat different reason.

IMO, he would have fit in just as well right here. A proud, traditional club that's fallen on some hard times. Fans would have adored him, players would have fought for him. Not really sure what Liverpool can offer that United couldn't (insert scouser joke here)?I remember that we had discussions about Klopp during his time at Dortmund and after the time he left.
Do the people that thought differently then understand now why especially we Germans thought that coaching a team like Liverpool is the ideal place for him in England?
