Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

He's a competent midfield away from having a dominant team.
With Keita coming in this summer he's well on his way. Plus Coutinho money allows them to strengthen the rest of the team.

This upcoming summer is absolutely crucial for Klopp. I hope he majestically fecks it up.

bit of a strange time to have a go at their midfield when they've absolutely dominated today. Can, Wijaldum and the Ox were class

We need a keeper, another CB, a midfielder other than Keita and an attacking player to replace Coutinho still.

Great win though.

And goalkeeper, and center backs (well, he has one who could be quality).

Pool have a lot they still need to fix.

Their midfield can't keep the ball. Offers no protection to their defense. Having that element reduces the amount of trenches defending their back line does.

Terrific football manager. He has his faults but you cannot deny that he is one of the best attacking coaches going around. First team this season who weren't afraid to take the game to City.

I hear Andy Carroll is available.

I'll be honest. I think his approach and tactical system are absolutely brilliant and I cant tell help but feel envious of it. He gets the unit to play beyond or to the maximum the individuals in it can do. His coaching is also immense. He gets his players producing such intelligent, technical and tactically aggressive football.

He's also brave. He showed that you can take City on. A kick in the nuts for those who felt our approach of cowering in our own half was the only sensible way.

I fear for where he takes Liverpool over the and next few seasons. Hopefully their defending keeps them from reaching the top.

He's shown every team in the league that you maximise your chances against City when you take the game to them and pressure them constantly. We failed to do that and deservedly lost.

He's obviously taking Liverpool in the right direction. I have seen some on here laugh at him but that's just tribal nonsense because he's managing Liverpool. He's definitely one of the top 10 managers in the world.

Full backs cot you two goals today aswell.

Gomez awful for the first goal.
I don’t blame lovern for the second goal like everyone else will.
Having played full back myself I blame robertson. Lovern can’t see behind him. Robertson’s got to engage the ball there and not allow gundogan to take two touches there. Very poor defending for me.

Think he has some potential so if you can tolerate him learning and making mistakes like that fair enough at some point you have to let younger players fail or not.

Your best player today was wijnaldum. Problem is he is not consistent enough to do that every week.

We have our frailties. And we have a long way to go. And we are still in the fight for Top 4. And whatevrthefeckhappens at the end of the season. I am so drunk and so happy. #oldmonk

This is really it. Hoping and praying that their defensive problems rear their ugly head yet again. They are miles ahead of us in terms of attacking but their defence is god awful. I’m hoping it’s more a tactical/coaching problem and that the signing of van Dijk makes diddly squat of a difference.

If they get a good defensive midfielder, a goal keeper better than the clowns they have and Lemar to replace Coutinho - they'll be challenging for the league along with us and City next season. He said that he'll need 3 or 4 seasons to have them up there, and I think they are on the correct path. We can be bitter all we want but the reality is that he has improved Liverpool leaps and bounds.

Yeah but their keeper is still shite. Look at Ederson today, doesn't matter how good you are at protecting your keeper sometimes.

This game is perfect for Klopp, as he gets exactly the opponent he wants: a team with an uncompromising attack. I'm not surprised at all to see Liverpool win this game.

Liverpool wont win the league until they learn how to consistently trash low and mid-table teams that don't give them space to attack.

De Vrij, Milinkovic-Savic, a RB and a GK

They could get at least 3 of those this summer i reckon

Yeah. They're a joy to watch in terms of how well they are technically and tactically coached. That's the sign of a superb manager, at least in attack.

To be honest I've always thought he's a terrific coach of footballer and found his ideas on football great. The man, on the other hand, as Ive discovered during his time at Liverpool, is bloody annoying.

That pressing though. You gotta be fit af to do that for 90 minutes. Pool or not pool but Klopp's pressing system is beautiful to watch. Snatching the ball at your opponents half time after time like that, not letting them start an attack or even complete two passes in their own half.

Rich man's Bielsa. His style might be lauded, but I am not sure he has the mentality like Jose to win the big prizes. Credit to him for his achievements, for sure, not denying that.

The improvement of Chamberlain is testament to Klopp's coaching ability. He absolutely ran that midfield for most of the game today. With Keita and VVD already acquired, and another £140m yet to spend, he has the opportunity to turn this into a really good side.

He makes very good signings. He knows exactly the kind of players that fit his system, and signs them quite cheap usually.

Except the fact that he won the Bundesliga twice.

Im also always amazed at how technically good players look under him. Not sure if it's coaching or the system because I don't think his players are supreme in technical terms. They have enough of it of course. But he just gets something else from them.

Do you not think they was acquired with that £140m ?

It's a mix between the players he signs and the system, imo.

1. Technique and stamina are connected, and to play in a Klopp team you need stamina in abundance. The more tired you are in comparison to your opponents, the more your technique will suffer in crucial moments.

2. When your coach insists on uncompromising attacking football, you essentially create a culture where it's OK to try and fail. This is a dream for players who wish to develop their technique and try things they normally wouldn't dare to do. This may sound great in theory, but you inevitably downplay the importance of defense, which is an artform in itself, and thus you get a team capable of bottling huge leads.

Talking about what he will win with Liverpool obviously.

That wasn't obvious. And actually not what you meant.

.....but I am not sure he has the mentality like Jose to win the big prizes.

What big trophies has Jose won with us for you to take make the comparison? Obviously you meant it over the course of their careers.
