Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Took a dig at Conte saying he played with 8 defenders.

Seems like he doesn't like any coach like Conte or Jose with a bit of defensive nous? Maybe an acerbic hatred of all things defensive. He would do better to learn from them considering the state of his own defense.

I presume that Jurgen did not notice himself bring Studge off & just leave Salah up to play on the break at 1-0?

Jurgen is a whopper.

Klopp does not like defensive managers because he has no idea how to organise a defence. Understandable, really.

To be fair, if he wanted to make a sub and go five at the back, but wasn't allowed to, then Liverpool conceded straight after, I think most managers would be pretty pissed off and would raise that in the post-match interview.

Nothing stopped him going 5 at the back though, that's why it's a stupid thing to moan over, it's not a video game where formation changes only take affect with the ball out of play.

I wasn't watching: what incident stopped him making a substitution? Was there a stoppage in play where the referee/fourth official ignored him?

Are you sure Klopp knows that though?

Lovren would look good for you I reckon. He's very good in a deeper setup, with people around him and awful when he has to defend on the front foot with open space around him.

We basically bought the opposite of what we needed from a defender.

I don't know about moreno. He'd probably be at the level for you he's been for us this season. Somewhere between ok and good with a meltdown waiting to happen. I mean, how do you coach a guy who does this?

I'm convinced Moreno doesn't actually have a brain. Remember that time when Carragher was picking him apart in a post-match analysis (think it was after an Arsenal game) when he was trying to defend 1-on-1 with his hands behind his back and then turned his back on his man and started looking at the keeper?

He's very decent on the ball and quick and a hard worker but feck me, he's a manual on how to 'defend' in the most unconventional manner possible and a disaster waiting to happen at any given moment.

What did he say? @ the thread title.

Said the ref wouldn't let him change his system because he wouldn't let him make a sub.

The system in this case being to go 5 at the back, and the sub Lallana for Coutinho.

Quite how that stopped him going 5 at the back (he had Milner, Gomez, Matip, Klavan and Moreno on the pitch still at this point) I don't know.

You honestly can't make it up. I look forward to Liverpool playing every week just so I can hear the next absurd excuse.

That's the one.

You have to wonder what goes through that man's brain sometimes. I imagine most of the time when he's on a football pitch it's just a picture image of a monkey crashing some cymbal's together.

Wow. Brilliant

This guy is really too funny to be true ...

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp:
"Everything was good until Willian crossed the ball. Most parts of the game were good but it doesn't feel it.

"But that is how it is. We will be better. The world is a strange and a crazy place at the moment so I can easily live with a point against Chelsea.”

Have to say the guy is not the smartest. He acts like a fan.playing fifa manager and that too poorly. Trust me he would have been bashed if he were our manager.

"But that is how it is. We will be better. The world is a strange and a crazy place at the moment so I can easily live with a point against Chelsea.”

Am I reading this wrong or did Klopp just use the tragedy in Egypt to justify dropping 2 points?
What else can this mean?

Don’t think he was trying to justify it but was using the tragedy to self-serve and make himself feel better. Think it’s typical of this guy And not very smart thing to say. Just talk about football and tragedies separately.

And another thing is why did he go on about the ref and jump up and down when Salah scored if there were more important things in his mind. Anyway, perhaps I am little harsh here.

No need for a straw man here. He’s mental enough without trying to load his words in unsavoury ways.

Sick of Klopp bringing the game into disrepute!

If squaring up to ball boys and questioning referees/assistants constantly isn't enough, I'm sure looking like a coked up honey monster in glasses, ranting and snarling on the sidelines, showcasing his patinated ivory gnashers is.

it's worse, he actually said:

"I wasn't happy about it because we wanted to change. In my mind, Ragnar Klavan would have been exactly in the position where Willian would have crossed the ball, so we would have blocked the cross."

He doesn't have a clue.

Wasn't it a liverpool throw in anyways? And it's not like the ref didn't give 'em the chance to make the sub either, they just took too bloody long to get it ready...

I dunno, i'd think he's trying to deflect attention from his decision not to start mane and firmino, but he seems a bit of a lunatic so who knows...

Why didn’t firmino and mane play again?

If you dissect their season against top teams this season so far, it is not looking good. Barring that one match against Arsenal they won at home, they have lost twice away (city and spurs) and drawn twice at home (us and blues). Not looking good for them as they still have to travel to Emirates, OT and the bridge while city and spurs are paying them a visit. I think they will have a tough ask going for the top 4 trophy nevermind the title. Looks like they may continue to rest all key players from December onwards in EPL and focus on UCL. Klopp has already started this in November. Genius.

Sunday Times are reporting that Oliver told Klopp he wouldn't let him make the sub earlier because he thought he was wasting time.

Bit scandalous if true.

Sub still came about 10 minutes too late either way though.

They would have. It was a news about our possession, not chances as Liverpool created feck all in that game. It was only about possession.
No, if despite 35% possession, United scored 3 like Liverpool did, nobody would really talk about that. They would just say it's a way of playing that was very efficient. Let's be honest, it's embarrassing to think that there's some sort of agenda against United. The only things the club needs to do is to score when they counter attack, and all the complaints about the style will dramatically go down.

Don't think anyone said that. It's just anything related to ManUtd is a huge news, others are sort of irrelevant, at least that's how media prints news. ,

It's really hard to believe that story.

I can believe it happened. Hard to believe Oliver would tell anyone though.

Why would ref care whether sub is to waste time or tactical change when he can just add a min to added time. Someone is making up news I think.

Haha that would totally not surprise me. Sometimes I can´t believe the shit they let players get away with, not showing yellow cards for the most blatant hard or tactical fouls. Then they probably think to themselves: Yeah foreigner that might be a yellow card everywhere else in the world, but not in our tough guy league. Is probably the same with subs. Yeah Pep, Conte or Klopp this trick might be working on the continent, but we don´t make subs for time wasting. You can fill out the formal tactical change request slip G7 and the review panel will come up with an answer for you in the next 15 minutes.

That doesn't even make any sense.

Not sure if that made sense in your head while typing, did you read your post again?
