Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

How many of their players would walk into our starting 11?

Maybe 2
This has been done to death but if basing it on this season's performances and not reputations then 5 or 6. Any less and its bias over brain. No doubt you will disagree of course and that's your prerogative.

As proven by all your disliked shit managers down the years...

Klopp's easily the most likeable manager Liverpool have had in years.

Not that that's saying much.

Whereas Utd have had some lovely characters as managers down the years.

Jurgen definitely got Jose's numbers. Not much Jose can do against this man, always backs against the wall. Top notch from Jurgen today, sadly.

Don't think they were the better side, but we did play long balls in the last 20 mins. We did what was needed to get a goal and it worked.

Pool dominated the game sply in the midfield, with that team no mane, coutinho on bench , clyne injured , matip injured, Henderson on pain killers .... similarly could be said, had mane ,clyan, matip, coutinho, Henderson start fully fit you would have struggled.

I dont know what fans were smoking here with all the smash them talk

What game did you watch?

Liverpool offered very little of any real danger going forward, whilst United had a number of opportunities that went to waste because of individual errors.

"Detestable prick" springs to mind when I think of Jurgen Klopp. Can't stand the guy or what he has achieved with an average bunch of Liverpool players. They are clearly playing above their station due to his management. Genuinely frightens me what he could achieve with a better set of players at his disposal.

Surely he's to good for the dippers?

FWIW, I thought Klopp got it right today. As poor as some of our players were, they were setup correctly and made it nigh on impossible to play through the middle. He also observed how effective Valencia is for us and up until the latter stages of the game, instructed his players to ensure the ball didn't reach him.

They didn't do enough to score from open play however.

Yeah of course it is. *rolls eyes* Not much depth but you call it a poor squad ? Jeez.

Your squad is poor. Your first XI, when all available and fully fit is pretty decent, but there are big drops in quality in many positions as soon as your first choice is out. Not sure what you've taken issue with there in all honesty.

Can't stand this guy. The way he squared up to Mourinho was classic pandering towards the Scousers.

Not a solitary word of that is true I'm afraid.

Liverpool, for all their highly effective pressing, were no better than a midtable team from an offensive standpoint. Average as day footballers playing beyond themselves down to excellent management. No more than that.

Rival or not, I used to respect his abilities as a coach, but I find his antics embarrassing. I'm glad he isn't our manager. Passion is one thing, but he acts like a petulant child far too often.
I agree with you. But would we care as much if he were Arsenal, or even Southampton manager?

I think Pool would have been deserved winners. They had more and better chances throughout the second half, apart from the equaliser their defense was solid. Would have been a very Mourinho-esque win on top. ;)

Disagree. Liverpool rarely threatened until the penalty and although it was early on, it gave Liverpool license to park their bus. It was a big turning factor of our own doing. United were creating far better chances and exploiting space, which Liverpool subsequently covered.

Even if we scored our goal early on it changes the game and we don't have to rush for a winner.
There was a reason United went long. Jose even stated that Liverpool's pressing caused a tactical switch.

Playing long ball at the end certainly helped, so it is a compliment to Jose and the team. We missed some sitters today and did not look worse than Pool. Would likely have won it, if Pog kept his eyes open and hands tight.

Never ceases to amaze me when a manager makes a big point out of the opposition playing past their pressure line, which is the most effective way to counter high press.

Unsurprisingly it is the two most precious cnuts that whines about it the most, Klopp and Pep.

Playing the ball long is a perfectly wise tactic against a team that presses from the front. We should have done it sooner.

He was mad. 4 points lost in last two league matches must be triggering, no win against League Two team Plymouth and losing to Southampton in EFL first leg makes a January not that good of a month.

So do our chances in the first half not count, or something?

They scored from a penalty and then hit us on the break after setting up to stop our footballers from playing, it wouldn't exactly have been a win for football in they held out..

Erm, what game was you watching?

Didn't he do the same with Caulker of all people?

I'm glad we reacted to their tactics and not try to fail constantly with one plan like Guardiola/Van Gaal do.

As for his comments. He is just pandering to the Scousers. They love that sort of thing. Not the first time either. Hopefully Jose doesn't bother to respond.

They played like a Mourinho team - get the goal, sit back and try to counter. Their gegenpressing nullified our midfield, and until we resorted to hoof ball, they were the better team. With Matip, Clyne, a fit Coutinho and Henderson, they might have even won the game, no doubt about it. Their gameplan execution was way better than ours.

That said, they were only good because we allowed them to stick to their game plan. If we had finished some of the chances we had, and if Pogba hadn't had a stinker of a game today, we could have been in driver's seat, with them having to resort to an uncomfortable Plan B. Mourinho was better in his tactical approach than Klopp, but the Liverpool players had a better game than the United counterparts who clearly underperformed under pressure.

He should stop crying about other teams approach. Had a little dig against Southampton despite being lucky to come away with just a 1-0 loss and the disrespect shown to League 2 Plymouth the other day was out of order. He gets protected by the media because he is a 'character' supposedly.

Maybe he should have asked Mignolet, Milner and co to stop taking so long every time the game stopped and concentrate on putting us away by going for the second, but they were happy to tinewaste from the first half.

I thought they nullified us well but they got lucky with that goal. It would have been a far better game had Pogba not committed one of the most shocking mistakes I've seen in recent times. 'Pool dropped off for the most part and our response to that was? Hope(less)ful long balls to Ibrahimovic.

The guy is a total idiot, I've said it before and will continue to do so until he gives an indication that he isn't a pompous twat

What's funny is that you lot were all saying the same things about JM when he was at Cuntski.

Nah

He was always pretty respectful of Fergie because he wanted the job and then he got on ok with LVG so there was no issue there. He never really gave us the full cnut Jose treatment.

He seemed to reserve it especially for you lot

The funny thing is our goal didn't even come from a long ball, but a pull back.
