20 year old Mexican winger, apparently set for a trial with us. Was set to join Real Oviedo but we've intervened it seems. He currently plys his trade for Estudiantes Tecos.

Anybody know anything at all about him?

Best video I could find, looks very orthodox and seems to have a fair bit of pace.

He's not Mexican if his name is Jurgen. I won't allow it.

I read something on the papers here yesterday.

Don't know anything about the lad, though.

Doesnt look to have complete control of the ball at any time or control of his own legs for that matter

A Mexican/German winger is obviously better than the too-English Zaha.

He better be a damm good player.

How the feck did we manage to pick up a player in Mexican second division anyway?

He doesn't look anything special in that vid. It is almost boring wing play. Like a slower version of Aaron Lennon.

It seems like we're treating our reserves seriously with him as well as the Leicester forward and the Augsburg goalkeeper.

I was also wondering if this is in aid of having strong reserve side, it would make sense if our prospects came through in strong winning sides, thus we are signing a few stooges.

Sign a couple more and there'll be no place for our prospects though.

I don't mind signings like this though. If it works out and they somehow manage to shine, then great. If not, we'll have given some random player a good shot at having a decent career as they'll probably get at least one decent move afterwards purely because they used to play for Manchester United.

Read a article yesterday saying he has the same agent as Hernandez, but I think it is nothing more than a crap rumour.

He said: “At the start, I trained with the reserves because the first team were training in Qatar.

“When they returned, they had a match against Fulham and after that I introduced myself and trained with the team directly in front of Sir Alex Ferguson.

“It was a dream and a really unique experience that I will remember for a lifetime.

“It is amazing that a big team like Manchester United have been interested in me and this was an experience that only happens once in a lifetime and I took it to show my qualities.”

Jurgen Damm has now returned to his parent club Estudiantes to continue playing in the Mexican League. While no move is anticipated in the immediate future from United, it is a step in the right direction for Damm.

Mexican winger admits it would be Damm wonderful to join Manchester United

Jurgen Damm has admitted it would be “wonderful” to return to Manchester United after spending a two week period on trial with the club in January.

The 20-year-old winger, brought to the club on a trial from Mexican side Estudiantes Tecos, has been told by staff at Carrington to follow a special diet and work-out regime to help him build muscle after being told his frame was too small.

Currently plying his trade in Mexico’s Second Division with Estudiantes, Damm is a very unknown quantity but his enthusiasm is certainly sky high after his successful trial at the club.

Speaking with Goal.com, Damm said: “They told me they liked my skills a lot and everything, but that I need to have more muscle and more intelligence to play faster.

“I’ve always said my natural physique is skinny, but they told me I need to build some more muscle.

“Manchester did some tests and sent me a program for the gym and for eating.

“They told me they were going to call me again, but they didn’t say an exact date.

“If there is some possibility of going back, it would be wonderful.”

Damm’s club Estudiantes is based in Guadalajara which is where Javier Hernandez played in Mexico before signing for Manchester United.

And Damm admitted that he built up an almost instant relationship with Hernandez in his short stay in England, citing it as one of the highlights of his trip.

“He told me to always give 100 percent in all trainings and to always be positive that I have the skills to do well so I can stay.”

“I talked with everyone, but the one who gave me advice was Chicharito because I was with him in the afternoons and before training I went to his house.

“He invited me to his box in Old Trafford when they were playing against Fulham.

“For two weeks they asked if I wanted to go eat with them, if I wanted to go to the mall…”

It’s unsurprising that Hernandez was so helpful given his approachable smile and kind nature but it is still fantastic to read about.

One interesting aspect to Damm is that due to his grandfather, he wouldn’t have to meet work permit regulations if he was to make the move to United in the summer – an aspect which almost thwarted Hernandez‘ move to United.

But according to the player’s representative, there are Spanish clubs already interesting in potentially signing the player. So, if United do want to make the move and sign him, it would have to be this summer.

It is something United have done in the past having moved swiftly to secure the signature of Angelo Henriquez this summer after an impressive first senior season in Chile to make sure nobody got there first and in many respects, Damm is very similar to Henriquez and Hernandez.

Both Henriquez and Hernandez moved to United with little first team experience and all three have an enthusiastic and hungry approach to their football.

With Hernandez, Henriquez, Valencia, Anderson, Fabio and Rafael all on the books already, United are building a bit of a South American contingency.

And if Damm sticks with the regime given to him by United, maybe he will make the move to United in the summer too.

Sounds like a potential signing in the future. If I was told to get more muscle to win a move to United, I'll be at the gym 24/7.

Yay.. another winger.

Damm if he does, and damned if he doesn't.

 another winger!

I do wonder why we take risks on all these wingers and strikers quite happily but when it comes to a CM very rarely do we ever take anyone on even a young talent who it might just click for.
