Junior Hoilett- Out of contract next summer

Or ye know, people wouldn't mind having a talented young player brought in. He's a good player who will be available on a free which does make it that slightly more appealing.

It's early anyway, plenty left in the season yet. It'll be interesting to see if he can keep his good start going.

I think he's an excellent player and it helps that he has shown his quality in this league. There will be no shortage of suitors come January.

My dream of another Canadian player playing for United is still on!!!!

God I hope he plays for Canada - we're absolutely shite. Qualifying for the next World Cup will help. Jamaica is just as bad as Canada and he would most likely never get a game for England so Canada should be his choice!!

I'm sick of this 'eligable for multiple countries' bullshit.

Like Hargreaves Hoilett was born and raised in Canada. I don't care what your parents are or what country you move to; if you are born and raised in Canada you are feckin Canadian.

International football can be really feckin stupid sometimes.

I don't get why everyone just assumes that he will never get a game for England when players like Lennon and Downing have played plenty for the national team and they aren't really more talented than this lad appears to be. Of course it won't be easy but a player who potentially attracts the biggest sides in the country will certainly be looked at at some point, not necessarily now but still.

And also he plays on the Left wing

None of those players have Premier League experience so it would be a tad unfair to compare them against a player that is playing regularly for his club.

Hoilett will definitely step up, how far will probably depend on how the rest of the season goes. I'm a fan personally and could definitely see him stepping up to an Everton/Villa. It's a tough balancing act keeping places in your squad for fresh talent and then having to also promote from the talent pool already available at the club. It all depends if the talent is worth the risk I suppose!

I am a big fan of Brady also (even though he is a bit of a hot head), he is on-loan at Hull I think, may check up on that myself and see how he is getting on.

It wasn't a direct comparison per se but if we were to sign Hoilett then his presence would no doubt impinge on the development of the aforementioned players. Brady is doing pretty well and is a first team regular although he has been subbed around the 60 min mark in the last two games, very good experience for him though.

Cheers on the Brady update. I don't know, that is one school of though whereas someone else might feel that competition for places is always good and if they are good enough they will play no matter who is in their way.

It's a tough balancing act as I have mentioned.

So according to Kean, it looks like he's unlikely to sign a new contract with Blackburn and will be available on a free next summer.

If he's under 24 which I'm assuming he is then whoever gets him has to pay compensation that is determined by a tribunal.

So he will not go for free.

It will be probably much cheaper upfront though as I tried to mention on previous page. The new laws coming in will see a substancially smaller fee paid at first, rest is paid depending on club success, players success and caps for club an country etc.

Well thats what I make out of the recent press issues on it.

Villa would be a good move for him, and for them. They've only recently lost two wingers, and tried to replace them both with the (so far) disappointing Insomnia. Of course, he would have Albrighton and perhaps Agbonlahor to contend with.

You guys (assuming you're Canadian) get shafted often in International play. There was also that Dutch player who decided to play for the Netherlands over you. Forget his name, not sure if he's even suited up for a national team. Maybe he was De Guzman's younger brother?

You lot need to clean up your act and find a worthwhile coach. Too much talent to be wasting away, getting blown out during group stages in the Federation's tournaments.

Ya it was De Guzman's brother.

I guess I don't blame the players for switching countries. Your right about the coach.

Time to bring in a high-profile and experienced international manager.

Lets be honest for a second, he's looked miles better then both Diouf and Bebe who are both around his age. If he's available for a decent fee we should look to get him as he'd improve the squad (and allow us to replace some of the deadwood).

Got regular games in the past two seasons as well so he's ahead of our reserves who haven't had much experience at the top level.

You guys are so desperate for a signing you will get anyone in and it will make you happy. Good player but not good enough for us I'm afraid.

Seriously? Hoilett for Man United when there are so many better options out there? I mean we are not exactly cash strapped as in we have only a $10m kitty. If we had absolutely no money then I guess we could look into him. No offense to him of course because he is just starting out and will definitely improve as the years go by but still not good enough to play for United.
